The last entry ; Mango Curry- is the Bomb!
    Robert M.

My wife and I needed an ethnic food fix for a late lunch, and we reached agreement at "Thai" food. So we headed over to Sawasdee for some curry. We were met with a pleasant greeting to select our table preference and immediately served beverages. My wife let me go first and I selected the Mango Curry lunch. She ordered the same. It was exquisitely delicious. Creamy sauce texture with mango flavor with a hint of mint and pepper taste in the background, followed by a very satisfying pepper after taste on the palate. You may tell by the included pictures the dish was very good. This place is a little gem on N. McCarron near the Raley's market. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really well done decorations and very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great meal!

This place is a hidden gem. Decided to switch it up from our usual spot and this place was great! Started off with fresh spring rolls.. their peanut sauce is one of the best I've had! We ordered pot stickers, pad Thai, and crispy pineapple chicken. Everything tasted sssooo good. The chicken had the best flavor and the spiciness of the pad Thai was on point! The staff was really friendly-- they made sure we had everything we needed but not over bearing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nice open restaurant with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No issues with parking. Definitely want to come back and check out more of their menu options! If you are looking for a new Thai spot in Sparks-- here you go!

Very minimal Thai food options in Reno/Sparks and Sawasdee is usually one of our go-tos. We got spring rolls with shrimp, pad prik khing, and pla goong. Food is tasty, service was great, but only downfall is that they raised their prices and the portion sizes have gotten smaller. The pla goong was supposed to have grilled prawns but was given a scoop of sliced shrimp instead. Spring rolls were fresh and the dipping sauce is great. Would recommend requesting their spice rack for extra heat.

The lunch special here is such a great deal and the portions are great. I got soup and a salad with panang curry medium spice as my main. Something about that simple soup was so comforting and delicious! I also placed a to go order of the shrimp summer rolls for my mom and though she was a little disappointed with the peanut sauce the food was good overall.

Whole order of Pad thai and inside of veggie spring roll

I ordered chicken veggie pad thai at a 4 heat and an order of veggie spring rolls. The pad thai came in a card board container with a foil insert. I transferred to a salad bowl since I don't like eating off foil. The dish was not spicey/hot enough even though it was 4 out of 5. It tasted good, could have used more chicken but the veggies were crispy. The 2 egg rolls were not worth the $6.95 I paid. They were mostly lettuce with a carrot, cucumber slices (1 each) and a mint leaf. Total order was $23.73.

This is our go to Thai spot! Hands down the best green curry I've found in town and my boyfriend loves their pineapple chicken. This is our repeat order every time. We also love their Taro Bubble Tea! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is super cute and the staff is always so nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're feeling like Thai food, I would definitely recommend checking it out.

I was looking for something unusual so I decided to try Sawasdee. Like most Thai restaurants, they have a spice rating system to help unsuspecting customers avoid over-spicing. I asked for a 4/5 expecting some heat and was really underwhelmed. Maybe the waiter misheard me or maybe he was trying to help me out of a bad choice. Either way, if they ask you your spice level preference, go ahead and add. The waiter did bring Prik nam plah to help spice up my dish upon request, though.

Great Thai food, great prices. I was even able to find some dishes here without added sugar. The atmosphere is very pleasant too.

My friend and shared the following: - Crab Fried Rice: I am usually picky with fried rice because it can get dry very easily depending on how it's cooked. However, this was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. - Yellow Curry: This was good and came with a bowl of rice. How it was served gave a very homey feel. - Mango Sticky Rice: The rice is sweet and the mangos were good. However, there is a big difference in the amount of mangoes and rice they serve per plate compared to the first time we were here. Overall, the food tastes good and the service is okay. I am disappointed in the lack of consistency with plating and amount of food that is served. I would not eat in the restaurant in the future, but prefer take out. I really wish the presentation and comfort was the same as when I came in the first time. There is a difference seen in the pictures from the first time I came to eat in the restaurant versus now.

Fun fact, I live less than two miles from this restaurant. Finally tried it earlier this Summer…read more I have now eaten here 14 times in the past 12 weeks. Yes, and yes. It's definitely that good. Food: Amazingly delicious, on point and consistent. Classic Thai ingredients prepared perfectly by chefs who wield their skills to create and customize each and every order. I have enjoyed the sweet n sour pork and the sweet n sour chicken. The sauce is robust in flavor, and they make the lightest sweet n sour sauce I've ever eaten. The vegetable cut of this dish offers large thick juicy bites of pineapple, cucumber, bell peppers, and onion. There's something magical about the inclusion of the cucumber here. I have enjoyed the basil on fire (have had the beef and the chicken versions). Yes, the dish is spicy. The fire is real and I'd caution you not to think lightly of spice levels of Thai food. A "2" will do you well if you like to eat fire as I often do. Aside from the spice, there is the obvious fresh basil component that pairs excellently with both versions. Fresh asparagus in this dish is particularly good. Lastly, I highly recommend the beef prik king. Tender strips of beef in a tangy, sour sauce with green beans and carrots. It sounds underwhelming, but I'm telling you this is a hidden gem on the menu. My gf is 14/14 for ordering the pad Thai. She had chicken on the first go. "Amazing," she declared. I concurred. The second go she had shrimp. Not nearly as good. Since then, it's been 12 in a row. Chicken pad Thai is the clear winner. As good as my dishes have been, and they have been incredible, I always find myself stealing bites of her chicken pad Thai. Service: The staff is extremely knowledgeable, insightful, kind, and hardworking. They take their work seriously, and they're busy nightly; as a customer, offer them a smile, encourage their efforts, and thank them for cooking and serving you. Ambiance: The ambiance is on par for a Thai restaurant in a strip mall adjacent to a 7/11. Truly, it's quaint and cute. The restaurant is clean and the kitchen is open enough to see and hear people working very hard at their craft. I have not yet tried any of their drinks or desserts. We dined in once and received excellent food and terrific service. The other 13 times we ordered takeout. The food was consistently delicious, well prepared and served to us in a timely manner. Cheers!

The first thing I noticed is the gal at the counter asked the guy in front of me what sauces he wanted for his to go order and how many people were going to share the order. He said I want all the sauces and two people. She proceeded to get him the appropriate number of plastic utensils. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and crab rangoon. She said it would be 10 minutes so I was browsing through their merchandise. Two servers came up to the display after I was done and started speaking in their language and shuffling through the items. I asked if I had made a mess and apologized if I did. She answered the purses aren't priced. How odd I thought, why display them for sale without a price? When they gave me my order I wasn't asked what sauces I wanted and how many people for the meal. Since I have silverware and hot sauce at home I didn't say anything. The customer service could definitely improve. I know there is a cultural difference but we are in America! The noodles were soggy and just blah. The rangoon were made with fake crab not cream cheese. They were overcooked. There was no one dining in except a couple who had just walked in. The order cost $26.06 and I tipped $5.00 for take out. I won't be returning.

The Wok is one of those places, and Sichuan/Chongqing food is one of those things that I'm jealous of people who get to experience it for the first time. Here's how to have an epic time at The Wok: Step 1. Get 4 to 8 people total that aren't afraid to try something a little different and maybe slightly spicy (seriously though it's not actually that spicy). If you need help with this step message me, I'd share a meal with some random people if it's at The Wok. Step 2.
