Cute Thai spot in sparks with extremely friendly and nice service (hence 3 stars). Regrading food, I was a little disappointed. The drunken noodles were too soft for my texture to the point they almost were melting in my mouth. I spoke to our server and he mentioned they are with fresh dough so they're soft in texture. Went here for dinner with my daughter, for her 22nd birthday and it was really nice! Great service, and my rather loud 4 year old grandson (he talks loud im sorry) but otherwise well behaved, and my 1 year old granddaughter who was actually very well behaved. The staff were helpful and that was nice! The food was great, would definitely come back again. I ordered the pineapple chicken and it was delicious! Everything seemed fresh, and the staff were helpful. It was fairly busy, and i dont think we were too noisy, just a little loud with the wee ones with us. Definitely would recommend. Found this location while shopping next door at Raley's. I located their website and dropped a quick order for dinner. Ordered their Pad Thai Beef and Roti with a side of yellow curry sauce for dipping. The Pad Thai was very flavorful, but the noodles seemed under sauced. The Roti was amazing and the yellow curry dipping sauce also has amazing flavor! I will definitely be back to order their Chicken Yellow Curry, based on that amazing base sauce, and to give their Pad Thai another chance. Sawasdee Thai Restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Reno. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week. It's hard to stop ourselves. He always gets the Pineapple Curry with Chicken and I get the Cashew Delight with Tofu. The food: I can't speak to his order, but the Cashew Delight has to be the best thing on the menu. It's one of my favorite meals. Before I went vegan I always got it with beef, but this dish is perfect either way. Just the sauce alone on rice is a dream. Their curry puffs along with that sweet dipping sauce are to die for as well. Sometimes I want to pick up an order of just that to munch on. The employees: Everyone at Sawasdee is very kind and attentive. Bim always recognizes us when we come in and remembers our order. It's little things like that that keep us coming back. Spicy rating: Every dish is served on a spicy scale of 1-5. I usually order a 3 which usually isn't spicy to me. Whenever I order the 4 however, I feel the heat. You'll have to figure out what works for you but I hoped that helped give a frame of reference. read more

3.5-4 stars: My favorite dishes are Penang curry or mussaman curry but given my experience here in Reno Im learning it's probably best to start with a basic dish first. This place is so good. My friends and I have eaten at countless Thai places in Reno, (for reference we are Asian college students) and this is the best for sure. The pad kee mow (4) is very very spicy, but the pad seew (3) is not that spicy. The pad thai (3) not spicy at all. All of the food was very good, authentic and flavorful. It felt like I was eating in a Thai lady's house. The lunch special is a real bang for your buck and so worth it. The thai tea is good, better than any boba place here that has no idea how to make thai tea. All the servers were kind and the atmosphere is so welcoming. the noodles were mush, I been to many Thai restaurants this was the worst, $76.00 dollars for 2 drinks ank two chicken noodle plates! ouch's. although the service is great, we had a young American boy waiting on this and he is very kind and pleasant. We will never return to this place. The food was awful. The noodles were not normal noodles. They were all mush. It was disgusting. I used to come here all the time when I was a kid so this place has been open for decades. After not going for awhile and coming here as an adult, idk how to feel about it now. I used to love it back then but now it seems to have gotten bad. One, they never pick up the phone, you have to place an order online. Two, the service is OK, when I first walked in there was a gentleman who was working behind the counter and did not acknowledge that I was there. Three, the food is bland and the portions are way less than before (I ordered during dinner time so I thought the portions would be bigger). I ordered pepper garlic chicken and shrimp, paid an extra $3 for 3 pcs of shrimp and the shrimp rangoons had way too much cream cheese and not enough shrimp, my daughter even noticed. Smh. I will not be back. The only reason I ordered from this place again was because my favorite Thai place Original Thai was closed. read more

Vegans! Almost everything can be made vegan here. The tofu is my favorite, I am not even sure how they can make it crispy and soft at the same time. I am very impressed. You get a ton of food btw. My favorite is their choice of curries. Also do the spring roll with avocado or mango. Also their lunch specials are great, but I went for dinner. We will forever come for our 2 favorite things here, the cream cheese Rangoon's (unbeatable dipping sauce) and their fried pineapple chicken.
