    French toast

One of my favorite old-fashioned diners in town, no frills breakfast comfort food. What would make it even better would be having real maple syrup and hashbrowns. At a recent visit, got there around 8:30 AM on a Saturday and there were still plenty of seats open. Usually like to get the lumberjack breakfast, which is pricey, but worth two meals. There are options within the lumberjack breakfast. Most recently, I chose eggs, scrambled with cheddar cheese, potatoes, bacon, and pancakes. My partner got French toast (3 slices) and the sausage patty. Eggs were fluffy and was presented like an omelette. Pancakes are humongous and soft. My toddler enjoyed them very much. Sausage patty looked homemade and was very good. French toast were good.

This place has just about anything on the menu you crave for breakfast! This time around I got chicken and waffles. Not my usual go to, but I haven't had it in so long I figured I'd try it. Definitely not disappoint in my pick. Chicken tenders were huge and fulfilling! Waffle was crispy just like I like it. The children split pancakes and my husband got biscuits and gravy. Everything was perfectly served and large portions for sure! Wait staff was very welcoming and friendly! Alway try to make a stop here when we're in the area!

Very consistant food quality for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Convenient for my family to get a good vegetable plate.

We started with an appetizer we have not had before and we really enjoyed it. Get the Crab dip. You get a hot, bubbly dish of the dip with some fried pita chips. Get some bread at the table too, so you can enjoy the dip if you run out of chips. My husband loved it so much he ate it plain. We got some excellent entrees this time. We had the Figure 8 stuffed flounder. Instead of the green beans and risotto, he got risotto cakes and sautéed spinach. Risotto cakes are really good. Nice and crispy and so tasty. We also had the lemon pepper scallops with risotto cakes and asparagus. We really enjoyed everything and our server was so nice. I didn't take a pic but I also had the handcrafted lemonade which is delicious. Unfortunately no room for dessert, but they have some yummy selections to try. We have enjoyed coming here repeatedly and do enjoy this place. We have had very few minor issues that were not deal breakers for coming in. As with any restaurant, they will have some minor flaws. Overall it is consistently good.

Wish we were in the main room. Anyway, good size menu. Everything you need from chowder, fried platters, broiled dishes and non dish items too. We went with the basic fried platters. The flounder was good, hot and crispy. The fries basic. Cole slaw tasty. The hushpuppies were not good. Small, over cooked and dry. The food came out fast. The service was great. They had good dinner specials and bar specials too. I will be back. It's a good neighborhood restaurant. 3.5 stars. But sure it will be a four next visit.

Don't expect anything fancy--just a solid, well-cooked breakfast at reasonable prices. On this visit I had a waffle, four sausage patties, and coffee, and everything was fresh and very enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. In the past, they occasionally had trouble cooking eggs to order. If you asked for medium, they sometimes came out hard. The last time my Navy buddy and I visited, that seemed to have been corrected. I didn't order eggs today, so I can't say whether that improvement has continued, but it's worth mentioning because they did appear to address the issue. Overall, it's a comfortable, relaxing place with good food, fair prices, and dependable service. If you're looking for a no-frills breakfast done well, it's an easy recommendation.

My daughter is not a lobster fan, so she went with a BLT and a side of Mac and cheese. Where can you get a BLT for $5?? Nice touch, since lobster is their specialty. We enjoyed the Rockland with the crunchy bits of celery and onion. So, so tasty. The half and the whole. Same size buns, but the amount of lobster is just different. They have a decent sized menu here, but I have yet to get anything but a lobster roll, chowder and a whoopie pie. Always very good in a very unassuming strip mall. Do not pass this place up. The Chicken & Waffles were the standout. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and paired perfectly with the sweet syrup and smoky bacon. A great balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Spinach & Swiss omelette was light, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The spinach and melted Swiss worked well together, and the home fries were nicely seasoned with peppers and onions. The English muffin was a simple but welcome addition. The bird & Brie sandwich was another winner. The brioche bun was soft and buttery, while the brie added a creamy richness that elevated the sandwich. The arugula brought a fresh peppery bite that kept everything balanced.
