Really good. I got the open faced sandwich with the bacon, cheese and maple syrup drizzled apples. Made to order fresh. Scrumptious. Also I got plain old coffee but I take a lot of milk in it and she did it in the machine so it stayed hot instead of just adding cold milk which would've cooled down the coffee immediately. I was really looking forward to trying this place but had an awful experience and won't be returning. I ordered online for pick up, got my confirmation and headed in. She was clearly busy so I wanted patiently for over 20 minutes, beyond when my pick up was supposed to be ready. When I saw her boxing up what I thought was mine I approached the counter and asked it it was my order, which I had placed thru GrubHub. She snarled at me saying she wasn't accepting any orders from them because she was too busy. She repeated that several times...like it was my fault. She never offered to make my order or even expedite it. There was no apology for the confusion or the fact I'd wasted 45 minutes of my work day. I explained I'd already paid and asked could she refund it since she hadn't offered to even make my sandwich. She put her hands up in the air and said I had to contact GrubHub. Fair enough, but at least apologize and offer some accommodation. I left empty handed and won't be back. I sympathize with businesses that are short staffed right now but if you have no interest in your customers, I will go someplace else. read more

Understaffed and long wait for orders. Today they had no staff show up so the owner had to make all the ordered. I Ordered the "strawberry turkey and Brie sandwich". I assumed the strawberry meant real fresh strawberries but turns out it was strawberry jam. Not sure if that is what it should have been or not. It tasted very odd with the Brie rind and the jam mix. It wasn't a good combo nor for my first eating experience there. Also, I am not sure the place would pass food safety tests/inspection today. read more

So it says "say CHEESE" however, this is the interesting part here in the U.S when you think of a place that serves mainly cheese dishes you automatically think MAC & Cheese. Yet they don't serve ANY unless it's in a grilled cheese which I say OK to and she tells me we only have RYE and MULTI GRAIN bread ???! Who would eat a grilled cheese on anything but sour dough or plain white bread?? She says they are out and I say is there any grocery stores around and she says yes across the street. Maybe next time send someone for a loaf of bread. I A ASK her is the only grilled cheese w/Mac & Cheese ? I had the opportunity to try the food from this restaurant at a small catered event, so I can't speak to the pricing or the actual brick-and-mortar location....but I can tell you that the food was DELICIOUS! I think I had 4 helpings of the tomato soup! The cookies (I tried the Oreo and the M&M varieties) were soooo good, with the perfect texture...crispy along the edges, but gooey in the center! And the grilled cheese (& other ingredients - not sure what variety I ate, but I think there was turkey & bacon in there) sandwiches went with my soup perfectly and filled me up for a long day of physical labor! Came here while my girlfriend got a haircut now that the stay at home order is lifted. It's a nice quiet place right around the corner to escape the busy Georgetown Main Street. I ordered a New York style with bean chili. Their sandwiches are made with a lot of care, layer by layer, piece by piece. The soup was bean chili, but it was vegetarian with quinoa. This meal was absolutely an indulgent without guilt. Owner was very patient and sweet with my indecisive order. Even orders another sandwich to go for my girlfriend, forgot the name of it but it was on the sweeter side with goat cheese and jam. Beneath shady trees, the outdoor seating is a collection of brightly painted tables and chairs, including some child-sized picnic furniture. Far enough from M Street to appear almost idyllic. I was on a break from a 30-mile bike ride in Rock Creek Park, ready to savor the summer breezes and chirping birds between bites of turkey, avocado, tomato, and goat cheese. Very relaxing. Everything is always delicious in this place. Their salads are wonderful but must say their grilled cheese sandwich is out of this world good. Everything is prepared by the owner, who tends the place every day. I've been there about half dozen times and she's always there. So hard to find that nowadays. As much as I enjoyed my sandwich (the Palmyra) as well as my partner's green goddess sandwich, my experience was tainted by an interaction I had with the woman who took my order, who I also assume is the owner. While ordering, I asked to substitute the cucumbers that came on my sandwich with spinach (I checked first to make sure they had spinach as I saw it was offered on other sandwiches). I did not think this would be an issue as the sandwiches are made to order and both ingredients are available. The woman taking my order (seemingly the only person who worked there) laughed for a solid 10 seconds after hearing my request before stating she "didn't like making substitutions," but begrudgingly said she would do it. Both my partner and I were off-put by the interaction and her tone. I will likely still return as I did sincerely enjoy the sandwiches, but my disappointment with the service remains. read more

In the midst of COVID-19, I was not able to find a place to have a quick bite to eat with my daughters. Since we are conservative Muslims, only eating halal, we found a table outside to eat for a few minutes at Say Cheese! when the restaurant was empty. The owner came out immediately and was extremely rude to myself and two young daughters, telling us to leave immediately, to take our "junky food" with us and that we had no manners. After packing up immediately, I went inside to tell her that I did not appreciate her rude behavior. She began yelling and screaming even more adamantly. I will not return and I hope others would rather give their business to a place that has more common decency, courtesy and professionalism during this challenging time. read more
