Ordered Take Out - This review might be biased because I was so hungry! Humongous portions and tasty, hearty food. Got the Saya Delight ($13.95), a combo with 3 items as well as rice and salad. Pad See Ew was oily and amazing just like I like it. The Gai Yang (Grilled Chicken) and Chicken Karaage were served on a heap of white rice. The Karaage was nice and crispy and did not skimp on the chicken, perfect with the dipping sauce (sweet soy sauce). We also got Spring rolls ($7.50 for 4) -these were meh, would not order again. Just iceberg lettuce, no herbs. Food came out so quickly too! read more

Literally the best kaarage I've had. I've tried kaarage at every Japanese restaurant or any other Asian restaurants that serves kaarage and nothing beats Sayas. I'm originally from Guam and we have this Japanese restaurant called Fuji Ichiban. I used to eat there every weekend during my teenage years and after joining the military and getting stationed here, I failed to find any place that can replicate the amazing kaarage I had at Fuji Ichiban. That was until I stumbled at Saya. Saya is exactly how Fuji Ichiban's kaarage tasted like. It gave me flashbacks like how Remy from Ratatouille gave that food critique flash backs to his childhood. I also love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the portions as well. Did I mention that's its fairly priced for what they give you? I'm in need of a good Thai restaurant in Kent near my house, and this place popped up on my search. Read a lot of good reviews, so I have to give it a try. And oh boy, am I glad to have found this hidden gem. Placed my order on my way home from work, got there about 10 minutes later and the food was being packed. I ordered that famous chicken karaage, and chicken pad thai. Both were delicious, my only thing was that I wish the pad thai has a bit more sauce to it. The chicken karaage was moist and crispy, cooked to perfection. They use boneless skinless chicken thighs which was different, but in a good way. I will def be back to try out more stuff on the menu, that's for sure since this place is so close to my house. read more

Went here for the first times at night and really enjoyed it! Dining out again is weird but the place was very clean. We started with some sesame balls which were so hot and tasty. Then we moved onto to the main dishes. I've had some really sub par pad Thai and this was NOT that, this was fresh and delicious. The one critique I do have is that they skimped a little on the protein (tofu) which was a little disappointing but overall the flavors were amazing! We also ordered a green curry which was full of tofu, zucchini, eggplant and potato- really good! It came with a smaller side of rice which was great because the curry was really the star of the show! We ordered a few beers with dinner which were cold and complimented our level two heat in the food wonderfully. The service was really great, friendly and attentive. Needed some Tom-Yum soup for a hangover I've got so I stopped by here after grocery shopping. They were extremely sweet people and the food did not take long to come out. I'm very happy they still accommodated me as I came just 10 minutes before closing (I hate to be that person ). Cannot wait to try the food when I get home! We tried a couple items to go. We walked in and ordered. The service was excellent, super fun and nice. We ordered a Thai tea, chicken karaage and moo yang w/rice; beef fried rice and chicken pad thai. All were very nice portions for the amount we paid. I will say it was cheaper than most thai places. The Karaage was fantastic. The moo yang was okay, same with the chicken pad thai. The pad thai was just missing something, wasn't a lot of flavor there. There also was no lime, which tends to really enhance flavors, when they are there. The fried rice was a little to mushy for us, also lacked flavor. And the Thai tea was delicious! I don't think I'd try any other dishes, but I would go back for the Karaage. The Karaage, the service and the portion sizes are the only reason I gave 3 stars, would have been lower due to lack of flavor. read more

Hidden gem in this city :) I stumbled upon this place when my friend and I are thinking of where to eat. I want to treat him since he toured me around Seattle so why not. The ambiance looks like a regular Thai restaurant. However, the servers are really accommodating and friendly as well. I did enjoy eating here because of the positive vibe that it felt. The food is superb! We had 2 orders of their famous Chicken Karage. Gawd damn that is filling and delicious. The way I described this dish is: A tempura battered fried chicken that instead of a ketchup condiment, they served it with a chili soy sauce and ehhh salad. I wish I have 2 stomach to devour it all. I ended up putting it on a to-go box because the servings are ridiculously large for one serving. Overall, I definitely recommend this place to everyone. If only I lived near I would go here once a week because of their Chicken Karage. read more

This place is bomb!!! My boyfriend and I are from out of town and stumbled across this gem because we were in the area and craving Thai food. The first time we order over the phone for pick up around 7:30pm and they close at 8. I was a little nervous to try a spot for the first time right before they closed but I'm glad I did because we did not regret it. I believe Victor answered the phone. He was very friendly, patient, and answered all of my questions. We ordered the the Chicken karaage, pad see ew, potstickers, and basil fried rice. Everything was very tasty and was still hot by the time we got to our hotel. The chicken Karaage was A1! Idk how they do it lol. The chicken was so crispy on the outside but somehow they were able to keep the middle tender and juicy. The middle of the chicken literally falls apart while in your mouth. The sauce is perfect and pairs well with the chicken. I wouldn't eat the chicken without the sauce because the sauce is what has all the flavor and it's meant to be eaten with the chicken. Otherwise the chicken is bland. Still good though. The pad see ew is taste exactly like my favorite restaurant back home. I could eat it cold or hot it's just that good! Veggies aren't over cooked, perfect amount of grease, veggie/chicken/ noodle ratio. Basil fried rice was good. It's not what I'm use to but it was still really good and I would order it every visit lol. I'm just use to more basil and veggies. The rice is still very flavorful. The chicken pot stickers were good! And the sauce it comes with pairs well. We came back again to dine in 4 days later and Victor remembered our names and order. That was pretty impressive. Victor and Micheal serviced us while we dined in and made sure we were doing okay and didn't need anything. It definitely gives me bomb mom and pop restaurant and you can tell they genuinely care about the food that the put out as well as the costumers experience. I would totally recommend for if you're in the area and even if you aren't it's worth the drive. Trust me. I can't forget about the PRICES!!! The prices for everything is God sent! It's cheaper to feed a family real food from Saya vs eating at the local fast food restaurant. Each dish could probably feed 2-3ppl and everything we ordered could definitely feed a family of 5-6 EASILY, family style. read more

This is a cute little family owned restaurant. Seems it's the parents and their 3 sons! Been here a few times since they have similar meals that mai Thai in Renton serves. It's always usually busy here! Clean and comfortable environment. Customer service is very friendly and quick! We were always taken care or checked on. Thank you! Loveee their Beef Piaf Thai noodles which is what I usually order when I'm around the area. I usually order a 3 spice level but I had lunch w my husband today who had told them level 2. It was actually not bad! I was able to add some siracha pepper sauce to give it a little bit more spice. Wish I captured a pic but I took a bite and thought of the pic afterwards lol. Also ordered the supreme fried rice for the 1st time and it wasn't that bad. It is different from Mais for sure. Bigger prawns which were a plus for me, they also used asian sausages and a somewhat curry sauce/powder. It was pretty good, but didn't go with my beef Pham Thai. Lol So one of the sons actually gave us a complimentary bowl of steamed rice. Thank you. We Appreciate that! Went on the recommendation of an acquaintance. I did not know his taste buds had been removed. The service was fast and friendly with the server greeting me with a menu and water, and taking my order for a Thai iced coffee. It came quickly, but my first clue should have been that it was in a plastic "Coca-Cola" glass. It lacked any kind of punch or the sweetness that is usually in Thai iced coffee. Looking over the menu, I thought the lunch "specials" starting a $8.95 were a bit pricey, so I chose fresh rolls (two for $4) and miso soup ($1.50). The miso soup was the blandest I have ever tasted, with no seaweed or little chunks of tofu apparent. After about two spoonfuls, feeling like I'd missed my mouth, I decided it wasn't worth finishing. The fresh rolls were indeed fresh with plenty of crisp veggies inside, but without any sauce like hoisin, very little flavor. Plus, they skimped on the shrimp. While it could easily have held three, there were only two per roll. The peanut dipping sauce was the star of the show, but you can't make a lunch out of that. Sorry to say I doubt that I'll give Saya a second chance. Too many other places to try. read more

Family of 7 dinner and we had an amazing time. No elevator music, playlist was hot has some RnB & hip hop that even my kids enjoyed it. It was a cute casual place to eat. The waiter was busaaay he was the only one serving tables I was impressed. He tried to keep up, just wish they did have more to help. My favr thing on this menu was the Karaage chicken, I never ate so much fried chicken in my life lol. Boneless, Fresh and crunchy. We had shrimp fried rice that was delicious . The coconut curry chicken was light and flavorful. Wasn't too crazy about these rice noodles stirred fried. The tea tasted like this peach flavor it was so good that I took the rest home in a to go cup. The grilled chicken was okay not for me. A little dry to be honest. We did have to ask for more rice constantly, we had ordered 6 platters of the fried chicken so we expected rice to come along with it, we ordered 2 platter at a time of-course . All in all it was still amazing food, atmosphere, and family time was well needed so this was an great dinner experience for us with our kids. Ty! read more

I have been here several times for take-out during the past few months during COVID. They are consistently fresh, tasty, and an excellent value. My go-to's are Karaage/Gai Yang chicken combo & supreme fried rice. Prior to moving to the northwest, I had never heard of karaage (Japanese fried chicken); it's tough to describe if you've never tried, but it differs from regular fried chicken in that, when executed properly, as is always done here, it is not at all greasy, had a crispy/flaky outside (enough of a crunch when you bite into it), and a white meat tender/juicy inside. Saya is know for their karaage, and they consistently nail it. The Gai Yang (Thai grilled chicken) is also executed very well, with a soft but crispy skin, and juicy meat. The latter is more like a chicken cutlet, with Thai seasoning. The supreme fried rice is always fresh, and some of the best fried rice in the area. The portion size is substantial. I usually order this with "5 star" heat, though it's never quite spicy enough for me. Overall, Saya continues to impress and should be on your short list for excellent southeast Asian cuisine. read more

We did a group order for 13 people during lunch rush. We called ahead to place the order. When we arrived, everything was freshly done and they even took the time to write everyone's name on their order and bagged it up for us. Super friendly and quick. Honestly, didn't want to yelp this place because my first experience here was amazing and I didn't want people to be flooding my go to place for Chicken Karaage. When I saw the menu had thai food, I wasn't sure how that would turn out considering their specialty was for their chicken dishes. I ordered their Pad See Ew and wow. Surprisingly better than some places that actually "specialize" in thai food. Chicken Karaage is delicious! perfectly fried and stays crispy even in the togo box. Their sweet soy sauce that comes with it is good, but I suggest asking for their pink spicy mayo sauce too! Their Gai Yang (Thai Grilled Chicken) is broiled in thai bbq pork sauce that's served with rice. For both chicken options they come with rice, but you can also ask to substitute for a mixed green salad. I have yet to try other dishes, but I will be coming back all the time for their Karaage. Prices are super cheap and their chef can finish your takeout order within 10-15 minutes calling-in. I called two days before the holiday wanting to put in order an for 25 people and pick up on July 4th. They told me they are closed that day for that day for the holiday however, they said they will talk to the owner and call me back an hour later to see if there's anything they can do. And guess what?! They agreed to take my order! Apparently the owner was willing to make the chicken that morning so I can pick it up by noon just so it's fresh! On a holiday!! Seriously, amazing people and service here. And the chicken? Well, I pretty much was not going to order chicken from anywhere else if I couldn't order it from here. I had their teriyaki and it was good for what it costs. I had to throw away the salad though because it was a little wilted. The 3-star rating is also directly affected by the lack of additional toppings they provided - such as no container of extra teriyaki sauce to top off my chicken and rice.
