The fish is exceptionally clean-tasting, the specialty rolls and nigiri are thoughtfully put together by the chef who assembles right in front of the diners. Service is a real standout here: Chef Tim and team are warm and attentive without hovering, and the room has an intimate, welcoming feel that makes it ideal for a casual date night or a relaxed but quick sushi fix. This place is close to me so I decided to give it a try. When I stopped in to pick up my to go bags the workers were so nice. For the prices, menu, and convenience I will definitely be ordering from here again! It fit the bill for me. I wouldn't say it was the best, freshest sushi I've ever had, but it was still better than what you buy at grocery store counters. I really loved the salmon poke bowl. I found the portion size sufficient and enjoyed the sauce on top. However, the avocado on the bowl was browning. The food was okay. Wasn't the best or worst. The workers are very hostile, didn't let us leave without tipping. The drinks and food are already overpriced. We are students and clearly looked like it too but the lady literally stopped us from leaving and pointed to the tips. because my name is sayuri i've been wanting to try this restaurant for a really long time and i finally came in for my birthday. unfortunately i was disappointed because of the overall service. the food was really amazing, even the miso soup was delicious compared to any other miso soup i've ever had and we all agreed that the rolls we got were delicious. there's a ton of space for seating and it's a nice restaurant. however, four of us came in on a sunday night with a reservation, and there were 2-3 total other parties and somehow our food took almost an hour to get to us. we were absolutely starving, they knew we were celebrating and birthday, and that we were really excited to be there but the staff wasn't friendly at all. i don't want to come across as pretentious because i've worked/still work in the restaurant industry so i know what goes into customer service, but i feel like they could try a little bit harder in that department. i think this would be a great place for takeout, though, because the food is definitely amazing. read more

We are so glad to have (finally) tried this sushi restaurant right in our neighborhood! We made the walk from our place to this restaurant for dinner after seeing such rave reviews here on Yelp. Thank goodness for Yelp by the way -- I'm not sure we would have noticed the place had it not been for their reviews on here! There is a neon pink sign at the front, but not as easily noticeable if you're driving by. By foot though, it was easy to spot. Sayuri absolutely lived up to the praise others have shared. The space is on the smaller side (maybe call ahead if you plan on a party of larger than 5?) but is quaint and intimate. Service was wonderful as well. Upon entering, the host and the sushi chef greeted us and you truly felt like they were welcoming you into their home and they were glad to see you. Great hospitality. The food was so beautifully prepared and everything tasted fresh and clean. We started with the seaweed salad (was also hoping to try the crab salad but they were out that night) which always a nice palate starter - fresh flavor with just enough acid. For our mains, we chose the salmon poke, tamago nigiro, sweet potato roll, and unagi avo roll. All of our dishes were beautifully presented, prepared fresh, and full of flavor. This is one of those places that's so good you sort of know you'll never be able to get a table once everyone finds out. The sushi is exceptionally fresh and perfect every time. The ambiance is as welcoming and friendly as can be. (Extra points for the quirky Japanese lounge music playing on a loop in the background. So perfect.) The service is super-attentive without being too "hovery." Highly recommend the spicy miso soup and chicken wings as appetizers. (Those wings, man!) After that, there are no bad choices. The location on Devon, across from the Clark Devon hardware store means that it's not so visible or stumble-upon-able, but it's well worth the visit! The chef and owner, Tim, and the server Tara are so nice and friendly, they make you feel like you're a regular at your local joint. But don't make any mistake, the sushi itself is top notch. The fish is cut when the order is placed, so it melts in your mouth. The salmon is incredible, and the sauces are all original creations. The spicy miso soup is a hot & sour bomb -- so good! We stopped into Saudi to place a takeout order. Nice clean restaurant and friendly staff. Staff explained the order would be done in 15 minutes. I overhead the chef greet a guest saying it's been a little since he's seen him. Came back 15 minutes later to find my order not ready for the next 10 minutes. Not the end of the world just unfortunate to see the "regular/returning" guest already eating a roll of sushi that I watched the chef prep before my order was even close to being done. Overall great food and will come again, just unfortunate to not have a first come first serve priority. Given the rave reviews Sayuri Sushi Bar has received, and given that I eat enough sashimi to register as an Oceanic-American? Sayuri shot to the top of my must-try-ASAP restaurant list. I ordered delivery tonight because I was short on time, but I'm looking forward to dining with them in-person. My selections were the Sashimi Queen, Sunset Beach Maki (wrapped in cucumber instead of rice), and Salmon Carpaccio. With a sprightly side salad. I immediately tried the Carpaccio, as I was curious how its truffle oil melded with the salmon. It was a fantastic combination of earthiness and salinity. All of the fish I ordered was incredibly fresh and high-quality - and I'm impressed with the creative liberty Sayuri takes with their dishes, in preparation and presentation (even - perhaps especially - via delivery). Additionally, when I called to confirm that they accepted delivery orders, the woman I spoke with was so gracious and kind. Suffice to say, Sayuri is definitely one of my favorite new local finds. OMG IT WAS SO GOOD! the miso soup and gyoza came out quickly and were great. all of the sushi was fantastic. the freshest salmon I have ever had in my life. everything was delicious. the owner and his wife were very very attentive and kind. The whole restaurant is ran by a man and wife from Thailand named Tim and Sonya. they were exceptionally nice and very attentive. the restaurant is small, I recomend sitting at the sushi bar so you can talk to Tim. they have been open for under a year, and should defienitily have more customers!!!!! read more

Sayuri is the only sushi bar we have found that has reliably fresh sushi. The only bummer is that they don't open until 5P.

Didn't take photos because the stomach could not wait! The reviews do this place justice, 5-star hands down experience, presentation, environment, and taste! The location is down the block from me and I will now be here all the time! We had the: Ocean Ceviche- I think that was the best ceviche I have ever had, had a kick of spice in the sauce but was well balanced with fresh fish! The Godzilla roll and the Crunchy Salmon roll-were the best versions of these rolls I've ever had. Somehow these rolls were incredible! I don't know what else to say other than amazing sushi! Nigiri of Smoked Salmon- we ended up getting this twice because the salmon was smoked to perfection, tasted fresh, was perfectly delectable.
