Really cute late night spot on Devon with great sushi! The service was amazing abs staff were very friendly. Food came out very fast. All of the fish was really fresh. We ordered miso soup, nigiri and 4 rolls - everything was really, really good! We will definitely be back!

because my name is sayuri i've been wanting to try this restaurant for a really long time and i finally came in for my birthday. unfortunately i was disappointed because of the overall service. the food was really amazing, even the miso soup was delicious compared to any other miso soup i've ever had and we all agreed that the rolls we got were delicious. there's a ton of space for seating and it's a nice restaurant. however, four of us came in on a sunday night with a reservation, and there were 2-3 total other parties and somehow our food took almost an hour to get to us. we were absolutely starving, they knew we were celebrating and birthday, and that we were really excited to be there but the staff wasn't friendly at all. i don't want to come across as pretentious because i've worked/still work in the restaurant industry so i know what goes into customer service, but i feel like they could try a little bit harder in that department. i think this would be a great place for takeout, though, because the food is definitely amazing.

This is a hidden gem. Wonderful service, fresh and quality fish and unpretentious. The chef takes pride in his craft and it shows in the wonderful flavors and meticulous presentation. The service is top notch - they make sure everything is just right and that you have everything you need. We loved everything we tried and can't wait to go back. This is now our favorite sushi spot!

I was looking to try someplace different for delivery and came across Sayuri. What a treat! The fish was very fresh (some of the best I have had in Chicago) and the rolls were prepared very well! I enjoyed maguro and escolar nigiri, as well as the spicy tuna, Boston, and Mexican rolls. Delivery was quick and everything was nicely packaged. Highly recommend!

All i have to say is WOW.. I've been to many sushi bars, but nothing compares to the quality and freshness of the ingredients used here to prep your food. The speciality rolls are big and filling. Everything came out cooked to order which made the food hot, fresh, and tasty. Spicy mayo was perfectly crafted to enjoy your sushi with. The service was A+. They make sure you have everything at your need and constantly check up on you. If you are in the area and crave sushi I HIGHLY recommend this spot!

We are so glad to have (finally) tried this sushi restaurant right in our neighborhood! We made the walk from our place to this restaurant for dinner after seeing such rave reviews here on Yelp. Thank goodness for Yelp by the way -- I'm not sure we would have noticed the place had it not been for their reviews on here! There is a neon pink sign at the front, but not as easily noticeable if you're driving by. By foot though, it was easy to spot. Sayuri absolutely lived up to the praise others have shared. The space is on the smaller side (maybe call ahead if you plan on a party of larger than 5?) but is quaint and intimate. Service was wonderful as well. Upon entering, the host and the sushi chef greeted us and you truly felt like they were welcoming you into their home and they were glad to see you. Great hospitality. The food was so beautifully prepared and everything tasted fresh and clean. We started with the seaweed salad (was also hoping to try the crab salad but they were out that night) which always a nice palate starter - fresh flavor with just enough acid. For our mains, we chose the salmon poke, tamago nigiro, sweet potato roll, and unagi avo roll. All of our dishes were beautifully presented, prepared fresh, and full of flavor. We will absolutely be back soon.

Food & service was amazing, it will be one of the to go place for us from now on. Environment was good also.

Sashimi Queen

Given the rave reviews Sayuri Sushi Bar has received, and given that I eat enough sashimi to register as an Oceanic-American? Sayuri shot to the top of my must-try-ASAP restaurant list. I ordered delivery tonight because I was short on time, but I'm looking forward to dining with them in-person. My selections were the Sashimi Queen, Sunset Beach Maki (wrapped in cucumber instead of rice), and Salmon Carpaccio. With a sprightly side salad. I immediately tried the Carpaccio, as I was curious how its truffle oil melded with the salmon. It was a fantastic combination of earthiness and salinity. All of the fish I ordered was incredibly fresh and high-quality - and I'm impressed with the creative liberty Sayuri takes with their dishes, in preparation and presentation (even - perhaps especially - via delivery). Additionally, when I called to confirm that they accepted delivery orders, the woman I spoke with was so gracious and kind. Suffice to say, Sayuri is definitely one of my favorite new local finds. Itadakimasu!

I went to have dinner with my boyfriend, and the food was fantastic! They suggested we try the Ocean Ceviche, and it was delicious, especially for spicy food lovers! The service from Tim and Sonia was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be returning!

Hands down best sushi I've had in Chicago. Fresh , in house sauce, not a single complaint. You're missing out if you don't stop by.

Sayuri is the only sushi bar we have found that has reliably fresh sushi. The only bummer is that they don't open until 5P.

Second review I've ever written. Best place for Sushi on the north side. The owner is the chef and he made all the recipes by himself.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Miru…read more We were visiting Chicago for a short trip, and with so many excellent dining options, choosing where to eat wasn't easy. I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

It's all about the views!…read more Miru is one of the newer sushi restaurants relatively uncompetitive sushi scene in Chicago, and it hits the spots for those interested in classy ambience and jaw dropping views. The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

We got the karage, three of the skewers , and the spicy salmon and tuna rolls. This place, along with the entrance is a bit hidden, so would love to see them market themselves more as I think it's a spot people would really love, especially for more affordable sushi in the River North area. Quiet and cozy ambiance for casual outings but also cute enough to be a date spot. Got seated immediately.
