Sazerac is a great spot for a quality nightcap (and some lat night food truck eats). My colleagues executed an EPIC event, and after 15+ hours working on our feet, we needed a festive place with stiff cocktails and food. First, for a divey-style bar, the barkeep was really friendly. And they have good drinks. He made a stiff dirty martini, an espresso martini, and a few of their Mezcal-based "Smoke and Berries." Outside, we feasted on cheap eats from (I can't remember the name), but we ordered everything from tacos to nachos to fries and I think empanadas? Great music, great lighting, service, and drinks. Highly rec.

Came to Sazerac for some late night drinks and snackies. We arrived after 11pm on a Thursday and the place was busy, but not packed. The space is casual and vibey. We went to the bar first to get our drinks. Service was fast and friendly. Sazerac doesn't serve food, but The Nach food truck is parked on their patio, permanently I believe. Half of the group ordered mezcal cocktails and the other half, martinis. Mine was an espresso martini, of course. Drinks were made quickly and tasted great. Then we made our way outside to The Nach food truck. We had just left an event where we didn't eat much so we were a bit hungry. We ordered a little bit of everything; quesadilla, nachos, tacos, and more. They all hit the spot!

On a Friday night, it's more of a club, and less of a whiskey bar. EDM DJ, crowded, but good drinks. There is an outdoor area as well. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, I liked my mocktail, others got the Sazerac and Whiskey Sour. Parking is mainly street, or paid lots.

Went out to meet some friends and was a little early, so upon parking on the Street I was in front of Sazerac. The music was calling me so I went in, the vibe is very hipster and fun. I went to the bar and ordered the Sazerita which was quite good I might say! I enjoyed the atmosphere and ordered one more drink and I decided on a Prickly Pearadise beer and it was sooo good, and I'm not normally a beer drinker but they had a large selection of beer, lager, and IPAs the bartender was very helpful with my pick and even gave me a sample. Overall I will definitely go back to Sazerac and try the food truck with Mexican food on their back patio.

Went here for my 21st and it was great! Cocktail was yummy and their food truck in the back was great. Will definitely be back

This is a fun bar in the downtown Phoenix area. They usually play good music and they have a very large patio with tons of chairs, tables and benches. They have a large bar inside where there's a few tables and a smaller bar outside. They also have a Mexican food truck in the patio for those who want a bite to eat. Drinks are okay and at good prices and the staff is usually nice. The security/bouncers are nice too, at least from our experience. They check ID at the door and are pretty good about keeping people who are too rowdy out. They have good margaritas though sometimes they can be hit or miss based on taste, same for other cocktails. They offer tons of beer options too. Is a very spacious bar compared to some others near by and one of our regular ones. They also do a pretty good job of staying on theme with the holidays.

Ask the Community - Sazerac PHX

    Is your patio 420 friendly?

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 36-2853(C), it is still unlawful for a person to smoke marijuana in a public place or open space.

Are there any low tables on the patio or all they all high tops?

Thank you for the question. Our patio contains low top tables along with the high top tables.

I heard cigars are allowed at this establishment. Do they have a selection to purchase and can you bring your own sticks?

Yes, we have a wide selection for purchase. We ask that you purchase cigars from our selection, they are very reasonably priced. Thanks for Asking!

Is there smoking inside? If yes, is that in a separate area from the rest of the bar? Just wondering with it being a cigar bar.

The smoking area is located outside.

Do they serve any food here?

They do not. They do have a food truck on site on certain nights. I believe they are looking at opening some sort of food venue onsite soon. Not sure when though.…

Can ya get down n dance at this place?

There’s not a dance floor, but that hasn’t stopped some people... if you can Dance on a Subway Train In New York, I suppose you can Groove Just About Anywhere... 🤪😁🎩🌾🥃🍒

    Are dogs allowed?

Only on the patio, not allowed inside! 🐶🤗

The crab dip was a standout: packed generously with crab and complemented by just the right amount of cheese, finely chopped red onions, and crispy breadcrumbs. We ended the evening with St. George Absinthe, an absolute gem of an offering. Jake, Brad, and Stormy were kind, attentive, and full of great recommendations without ever feeling pushy or intrusive. It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

Main level/Upstairs vibe is well-lit with a true cantina bar feel. High-top tables, seats at the bar & happy hour from 4-7 pm make it ideal for some $7 drinks!!. The collection of Tequilas is GREAT. Many of which do not contain additives. I won't lie, I thought I was a big fan until I realized I didn't recognize a lot of the tequilas they had on hand. Downstairs is a whole different vibe. Custom craft cocktails, dim lighting with artwork, and more make it feel like an upscale NYC spot in your basement. I did 2 of my favorites, Paloma De Guayaba with the custom block name etched and the Baya Nueva. While in the Cantina, I had to order my friend the Basura (trash), but that wasn't the case... then again, it is served in a plastic bag, and is definitely a throwback to my early 20's of gettin' lit!!!! Always look forward to sharing this place with friends visiting and connecting with those locally.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.

We had to go to Wren & Wolf first to pick up our Carry On tickets. We got there early, and they let us relax in their couch area while we waited for our departure time. The walk from the Renaissance Square parking garage to Wren & Wolf was easy. You just follow the signs, and the whole walk is inside the building, which was perfect because it was so hot outside.
