    Busy morning at SB Restaurant!

I love this place! Best breakfast burrito in town!! I think it's the potatoes they use, it's so good. I take these burritos to my customer and they love them! Also the people are very nice!

It's our first time going here, they weren't too busy when we came on Sunday. The place was a little hard to find, it kind of just blends in with the rest of the stores. They have plenty of parking and seating area. They had 2 huge rooms for dine in. We were helped right away and the person who helped us was nice. I placed my order for to go. I ordered: 1. Breakfast sandwich (sausage on sourdough): No frills breakfast sandwich. My husband liked it except that there was mayo in it. 2. Sausage and bacon breakfast burrito: This was hearty and delicious. The ratio was a little off and mostly potatoes. Overall, it hit the spot. 3. Hashbrowns: Crispy and cooked well. Good portion for a side order as well. Overall a good experience. I would definitely come back when in the area.

I am really impressed with this place! Food is excellent. Service was great and the place is very clean. I think this place would be great for large parties as there is a lot of space. Hoping to come here again before the weekend is over.

Food was delicious, the staff was nice and helpful. Everything was clean, and we got our food quickly.

Such a nice surprise. Don't let the exterior fool you. The interior was very clean and spacious. Surrounded by music and art. The food portions and taste were fantastic. Plenty of delicious food on the plate and excellent service as well. I must confess that I was a bit worried because we were the only ones there. However, more customers started coming after we left. "Try it. You'll like it". A lot!

PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE! It is locally owned and deserves more foot traffic than it gets. THEY HAVE KARAOKE NIGHTS! FOOD: The food is simple BUT it was very tasty. I got the SB burger with a green salad as my side. The burger was juicy and seasoned well. The portion was also pretty decent. The mushrooms in the burger didn't look cooked but they were. The meat was seasoned well although, I wish the patty was a little bit bigger compared to the lettuce. The grilled onions were cooked well. You can tell the produce was freshly cut. I thought it was cute that they cut the carrots in circles rather than strips for the salad. It wasn't a big deal but the carrots were fresh and crunchy lol. It was a simple yet refreshing salad. The ranch was so addicting. I was only supposed to put it on the salad but ended up putting some on the burger although it didn't really need it. They buttered that bread so well, nice crunch on the edges but soft and buttery inside of the bread. SERVICE: I was the only customer at that time, it was past lunch time but the server was very attentive to my needs. He gave me plenty of time to choose since it was somewhat a big menu but also I am indecisive when it comes to ordering food lol. He was very nice and welcoming. Can't say anything bad about the service. AMBIANCE: It is a pretty big space that is why I want more foot traffic for this place! It can fill up big families or cater to bigger parties. During my visit it was quiet because I was the only customer there but I would assume during karaoke nights it can get loud and I hope it does get loud that means they have customers! The space is clean, does not reek of the food that's cooking on the grill. Plenty of seatings, great ventilation and the bathroom was clean but it did need to get restocked on some supplies. Overall, I hope they advertise this place a little bit more because I think Santa Maria needs more mom and pop shops rather than more corporate fast food chains. It is a simple dining spot but could be a place to build memories with family or friends. The menu is kid friendly and the price is very reasonable! If you have tried this place, please recommend it to others! It deserves more than what it's getting right now.

Sunday mornings are meant to be leisurely but this time we were in a rush. We had actually slept in until 7am, normally up by 5am without alarms. The hubs event started at 9am so we made the quick drive for a to go order, calling two blocks from the restaurant after glancing at the menu. We both decided the first item on the menu we would try; Orcut Hash, did sourdough toast and homemade biscuit We had just a couple minutes to sit and order iced tea to go. Before the server could get us our iced teas our food was ready. It's super cute inside...can't wait to come back and enjoy the sit down restaurant. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Large alcoholic choice of drinks... really wanted that spicy Mary but since we were in a rush stuck with iced tea. The only 1 minute drive back to the gun range in Santa Maria was grueling smelling that gravy... We were both were thrilled at the large portions. It was amazing! I love gravy and could have used a little bit more but honestly I think it was fine for a normal person plus remember we go to go order so I suspect it soaked up a little on the drive. The staff threw in pepper and Tapatio which the hubs loves. I had Yellow Bird Blue Agave Sriracha in my travel trailer and used a little on it. OMG! It was so good! The potatoes had a nice crunch on them. That gravy was amazing. The biscuit was great, had a bite and saved the rest for later. The hubs managed to eat his whole plate and was stuffed! I might have eaten 1/4 of mine saving it for later. We will for sure be back!

I grew up in Orcutt, so I've…read moreknown the Swiss for years, but today's meal reminded me exactly why it's such a local institution. The oak grilled open faced rib-eye sandwich was absolutely incredible. I'm not exaggerating when I say it had more flavor than Wolfgang Puck's CUT. The rib-eye was perfectly cooked to the medium temperature I requested, tender enough to bite through without a knife, and seasoned exactly the way Santa Maria style beef should be. So many places are too conservative with the seasoning these days, but they got it just right. Even the bread underneath the steak was perfect. It didn't even need salsa, but of course I tried it both ways. Honestly? I couldn't decide which I liked better because the sandwich was outstanding on its own. We also ordered the linguiça appetizer with garlic bread. The linguiça had that slight char from the grill that gives it so much flavor, and the mustard served alongside it was the perfect pairing. My mom ordered the prime rib sandwich with grilled onions and chose the 50/50 fries and grilled onions. The only minor criticism I have is that it wasn't quite a true 50/50 and could have used a few more grilled onions. Other than that, it was delicious. The pinquito beans have a little kick, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. The whole meal took me right back to growing up in the Santa Maria Valley cruising Broadway on Saturday while the entire town smelled like oak fired Santa Maria barbecue. We cook a lot at home, and we're pretty serious about our beef, so eating steak at restaurants is usually disappointing because very few places compare. That's why I was so impressed today. This wasn't just a good sandwich.. it was one of the best rib-eye sandwiches I've ever had. To whoever was running the grill today: outstanding job. You absolutely nailed it. I'll be thinking about that sandwich for a long time.

We each ordered a filet mignon with a side plate. I ordered the chicken noodle soup for starters. It was delicious. I was off to a good start. Then the main course came with our sides, a little pot of salsa and a little pot of beans. The filets were very tender, it not well seasoned. Baked potatoes were fine, but the mixed veggies were tasteless. There may have been some kind of bread, but I don't remember. Service was fine. But waitress really made out. She didn't mention that the tip was already included in the bill. She readily accepted a substantial tip in addition to what was already on the bill. Bad food. Rip off spot!

Of course, we could not come close to finishing all the food and had to ask for our included ice cream to go. Lucky, we had a room in Santa Maria with a big fridge and freezer. We got super excited! With that, don't waste your time on this, go to Orcut to Far Western Tavern so much nicer, friendlier and just overall better experience for similar food. Reservations were for 7:15pm and we arrived at 7:05, were told not to crazy busy just hang out. Managed to find 2 seats at the end of the bar and were served pretty quickly. We don't typically mind a busy place and eating at the bar so I asked my husband if he just wanted to eat there. My seat was at the end and they kept puking up dirty glasses so I wasn't crazy for it but saw everyone else eating at the bar. He said no... Our bartender was attentive and also asked after we had been there maybe 20 minutes and we still said no. We finally got seated for our 7:15pm reservation at 8:30pm. Our server kept coming by telling us she'd be right with us, this happened about 5 times. We waited and waited for service. I got to over hear both our waitress and the others great others and go over specials etc. Ours never really seemed to know if they were actually out of something, she'd say I think. When offering ice cream her list was different from the other waitresses. All this before we got to order. We decided to get the big Ribeye and share but not add on the shared plates. Waitress recommended extra salad so did that. So glad as we didn't need an extra set of sides as everything was larger portions. Salad was basic; bug cuts of iceberg lettuce shredded carrots and one sliced beet on top, with watered down ranch. Main course took forever to arrive; baked potato had all fixings yet was dry. The Ribeye was tough and chewy. I enjoyed the beans and bread dipped in them; funny since I don't really like beans. The hubs who does like beans said they tasted burnt. We finally left at 10pm! It was so ridiculously slow! Don't think I could get the hubs to even try it again. Very disappointed. We tried so many times to eat there and waited and waited in their tiny hallway. At least this time the host and bartender was friendly unlike previous times.
