The food here was amazing. I had the chicken and waffle and it was a lot bigger than I expected. The waffle was sweet and good but the chicken could've had more flavor to it. I also got biscuits and gravy on the side and they were delicious. The customer service was excellent. Our waiter would check in on us frequently asking if we needed anything else. It's a cafe but the food here makes it feel like you are at home. This cafe is a perfect setting to enjoy a good breakfast with family or friends. Would recommend to all. So yummy! Reminds me of Cajun kitchen, but I think sunshine cafe is even better! I ordered the eggs Benedict sausage special, and every part was delicious. The potatoes were not mushy like some places' potatoes, and the waiter was very attentive and always filled up my water glass (I drink a LOT of water at meals ). I usually take breakfast here (always great), but opted for the Santa Barbara Chicken Sandwich. Thinking about bbq before I arrived, I ordered bbq sauce on the side. I was really looking forward to picking up some yummy breakfast here for my wife and bringing it back to our hotel, as we are visiting from out of town. I ordered a Belgian Waffle online (picture on the online menu has waffle covered in strawberries, bananas, and blueberries) and Country Fried Steak. To my chagrin, when I returned to the hotel and opened the waffle, it was completely plain and burnt, and the gravy on the Country Fried Steak was cold. We ended up going to McDonalds down the street as our breakfast alternative for sake of time, but what a disappointment, not to mention a waste of $$. Here on vacation and stopped at this little gem for breakfast on our first day. I had chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast and my husband had the corned beef and eggs. Both were outstanding. We decided to go back the next day and we both got the eggs Benedict. Now we all know that it takes a skill to perfect and boy did they ever hit it. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The hollandaise was great and the perfect little touch of paprika on the eggs and green onion on the potatoes pulled it all together. To top it off the staff was as amazing as the food. I had the Eggs Benedict with crab cakes. Quite yummy! The shredded hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. The only thing I was not too crazy about was the coffee. It's in a quasi strip mall but is surprisingly bright inside with a homey feel, given the cutesy hanging artwork and large windows. I liked the vibe! Our server was attentive and friendly. We were seated at a large table for 2 but that was just fine with us. Our food arrived and although it was very good, there were a few mistakes with our order. Honestly I'm chalking it up to "newly opened" restaurant jitters. For alI I know we walked into their friends and family soft open but I think as this place evolves and catches their stride, it's going to be a fantastic new breakfast restaurant. Watch out! His waffles were unfortunately soggy but the flavor was good. The short stack was also a disappointment because on grub hub it indicated a short stack of blueberry pancakes and what arrived was 2 buttermilk pancakes. I'm not sure if they were good or not because I didn't bother eating them. The potatoes were undercooked, and also soggy with no flavor and were disappointing.
