Scalia has good pricing and good pizza. You can't go wrong if you're ordering for a large crowd. My partner and I ordered their dinner special after an exhausting day and it was great. And I was sitting for 45 mins after I placed order . And I never got my food! I just left! I'm rating this purely on the pizza, which is top notch. I'm spoiled and only like NYC pizza, and am now a pizza snob. This is one of the VERY few pizza joints that manage to make pizza taste like New York pizza. Thin, crispy crust with the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce, not burnt but also lightly goldened top. Well-salted. Firm but foldable. Overall perfect cheese slice. As for the other non-cheese slices, they're about on par with others; I can't speak much to them bc I don't try them. I've had a few of their pasta dishes: taste is okay, portions are definitely enough for two meals - good bang for your buck. As for other aspects: good parking; acceptable lunch seating (not super comfy, but comfortably worn like you would expect at a pizza joint); some friendly staff, some grumpy; they get my orders right, although I see that others haven't had my same experience. read more

Best pizza in Hudson. This is not hipster pizza, this is a real Italian pizza place. The crust to sauce to cheese to grease ratio is on point. The eggplant parmigiana pizza is everything you want when you want eggplant parm pizza, no messing around. Cannolis. Calzones. Good, generous salads. Once one of the pizza chefs delivered the pizza hot with his apron still on. We live close so that's probably only for this neighborhood but it said a lot about the passion they have for pizza and service. read more

Never been here before. I don't understand the bad reviews. Granted, I only had 2 slices of pizza. They were both really really good. Like the best By the slice I've had in Hudson. Good thin crispy crust. Pepperoni slice was on point; not too greasy and a good bit of roni. The margarita slice was good too; tomatoes were juicy and sauce was good. I'll be back again. read more

I've tried this place so many times because it's close to me but I'm always disappointed. Garlic bread is too full of garlic to even eat, chicken Marsala is too tough to eat. Stopped in for a snack with my wife. Only one other table occupied, around 4:00pm. Waitress obviously wanted to be somewhere else and we were made to feel like an intrusion as soon as we walked through the door. "Blondie" pointed to a booth and we took the seats only to discover that there was no support left in the cushions. Uncomfortable... yes. Went over the menu and selected two different appetizers, fried mushrooms and fried ravioli, each of us ordering a Coke. Waitress took our order and disappeared. Food arrived after the appropriate amount of time HOT from the fryer. Once they had cooled enough we dug in... to our disappointment. Both appetizers tasted frozen and tasted more like OIL than either mushroom or ravioli. For what we paid I expected fresh breaded mushrooms and fresh fried ravioli. The dipping red sauce was average Prego or fresh from the food service can. The best part was when we asked for some plates and Blondie actually threw them on the table from a couple of feet away. Incredible. We had to ask for the check as she was too busy to check on us (guess if you don't order a meal or pizza you don't get service). After paying we left and won't return. Just too many pizza places around to bother giving them a second chance. For those that follow my reviews my wife and I put a high value on the service that we receive. When we are going out we expect to be treated as if our $$ is appreciated. I will not spend money at an establishment who's servers make us feel like we are wasting their time. read more

Very disappointed. I have been to Scali's many times for a slice or two and it was always just okay. I went in tonight to get my daughter a burger and fries and I ordered a chicken caesar salad. I got home and discovered there was no chicken on my salad. I live a distance away, so I gave them a call. They checked to see what I had paid for, in order to possibly give me a credit. I was then told that they must not have heard me say chicken, so no credit. I paid almost $30 for a burger and fries, an orange juice, and a container of lettuce sprinkled with cheese, croutons, and a small dressing container. It was so not worth it. The burger was also terrible, like a poor-quality frozen patty. I don't know that I will ever go there again. When I commented on the cost of the food I got, the answer was, "well the cost of food is going up." I enjoy eating out and do not mind spending a good amount of money doing so, but it needs to be worth it - of good quality (taste good) and respectful service. Scali's failed all around. read more

Just stopped in and tried both regular slice and sicilian. Very bland and somewhat dry pizza. Regular slice was very small, when I asked about it the young lady behind the counter said that this happens during slicing sometimes. Let me just start this review by saying the 2 stars I gave are for over the years I've ordered here and not this one instance that prompted me to write this review. I recently visited Scalis after a meeting at my firehouse with a few fellow firefighters. Over the years I have ordered scalis at least once a month to my home and a few times a year, we order big orders to the firehouse for our various meetings. Over the past year or so I get comments from people in the firehouse when I order asking why I get my food from there? I tell them, good food, fair price, and the drivers have always been very friendly and on time or close to it. They always say something back bashing scalis but I have ordered for years and never had a problem. I figured it was just sour grapes. So after ordering deliveries for the past few years and being hungry after our meeting I suggested we go to scalis, everyone agreed so off we went. We walked in at about 815 on a Thursday Night. Right when I walked through the door I heard an employee say "you gotta be f$&kin kidding me" being that we were the only customers in there and this guy was angry we came through the door I asked the waitress (who was super nice) what time they closed and she told us 10pm. Great we have plenty of time. We seated ourselves and the man in the back was still yelling and swearing at what I would call record pace. I couldn't hear everything he was saying but I did hear "830,F&@k, and other expletives and they were loud and obviously wanted us to hear them.... The girl came out and handed us our menu, yes menu.... We had 5 people I asked for four more menus and she told us they were "all out". So she walked away as I sat there with the one menu that they had, which was covered in grease and crumbs from the other people who used it before us. As we looked at each other wondering where to start the man in the back is still yelling at the girl and whatever other employees were back there. We were basically on the fence at that point on what to do and then we hear " go out there and see what the f&/k they want to order, I been here all day let's move it" at that point my decision was made and I returned our menu to the counter and asked to speak to a manager in hopes that at the very least they could shut this guys mouth. No manager, no luck, no order. We walked out and I saw the driver who delivers to me every week and very angrily told him what happened, he apologized and told me he hopes I still order delivery and he hopes to see me soon. No way This place has declined horribly and after years of ordering delivery I don't think I will order anymore from Scalis. I've felt more wanted in buildings that are on fire than I did that night in Scalis. It's too bad this place used to be top notch. Now there is a new pizzeria popping up every month it seems. No reason to give them anymore chances or be a burden. read more

This is very disappointing. My family has frequented Scali's for a very long time now, but over the past year they have managed to go from the best of Hudson to the worst. Tonight we ordered food at 8 PM, we were supposed to receive it by 9 PM the latest. We did not receive our food until 9:40 PM. By the time we received it it was luke warm. The chicken wings were dry and the poppers were cold. The stromboli we ordered was very soggy, soaking in grease, when I bit into it I received about half of a sliced, partially cooked onion in one bite. When my Step Father called the establishment to complain the "Pizza Chef" stated that he was recently new along with the driver, they were having several issues, and he would probably not be working there much longer. We were awarded a credit for next time, but I doubt we will even use it due to the uneccesary frustration and aggregation brought on. This has been accumulating for quite some time, giving Scali's several chances to redeem themselves. Prior experiences have included wrong orders, drivers not being able to find the house, baked ziti that tasted like soap, and severely overcooked chicken to the point that it is no longer edible, let alone chewable. I advise no one to go here. read more
