They were a referral from Walmart optical of all places. The owner is very thorough and made some recommendations I'd never thought of before. I won't lie...the prices seemed high, and I'm not sure he bills insurance, but for the first time in a long time I actually have glasses that work! I paid about $450 a pair for just the lenses. These were progressives that included a lightweight lens, with blue light protection, and non-glare and scratch resistant coating. Turnaround time was exceptional and my glasses were done in less than two weeks. This will be my new go to for filling prescriptions. Highly recommend.

At around 2:48ish they called and left a message on my voice mail which said I was late but they could get me in at 3:00. I was parking at that moment in their lot and instead of calling back which would have slowed me down I walked into their waiting room only 3 or 4 minutes after they left the message on my phone saying they had a 3:00 for me well before that 3:00. The woman at the front desk said that they had given my 2:40 to another person. They had also given my 3:00 to another customer because the people at the front desk were not talking to one another so she did not know someone else had told me 3:00 was good. I said "not a problem, I will come another day". She said that since I had been late for an appointment in the past which they had forgiven I would need to pay them $40 to schedule another appointment. She said it in a way like it was to teach me a lesson? I spoke to her a few times about this and it was like she had turned off her listening. I said that I was there at least 5 minutes before the time they had switched me to. She said that internally they had bad communication about that (my fault?). I also said you gave both my times to other customers who paid you for both those times. So you are asking a long time customer that has paid you thousands of dollars to pay you for time you gave to someone else and were paid for so you could double bill the time? She wasn't listening. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because they are only going to charge me the $40 if I book another time. If I never go back to them they are letting it go.

A week ago, I got a call from someone else at this store telling me I owed them 900 dollars if I wanted the (by then, finished) glasses to be shipped to me. Clearly my friend and I had been pulled into a messy and bizarre situation with an employee who had gone rogue. The owner of the store was immediately sarcastic, confrontational, and condescending about the situation rather than handling it with the humility and clarity you would expect of the owner of a supposedly customer-forward, high-end shop. Apparently the employee had been fired for general misbehavior. She didn't consider that she might be talking to a potential future customer who would be sympathetic to the situation and continue shopping there in the future -- let alone somebody who works in New York media. Which I do, under a pen name, and under this name I also have a following of 200k across social media platforms. Most of my audience consists of fashion-oriented shoppers, stylists, writers, and editors. I have been debating whether to post about my experience to my audience, and I decided to go ahead and do so. When I followed up and asked how many patients were ahead of me, I was told there were two. I then asked how long two patients typically take, and the response was about a hour or more. When I said we would leave and go somewhere else, the front desk staff had the audacity to respond that it had only been thirty minutes since we arrived. Thirty minutes is a long time, especially when no estimate can be given for how much longer the wait will be. That lack of communication is both unprofessional and frustrating. It is also clear that my being ten minutes late was not the real issue, as the patients ahead of me had already been waiting for quite some time. On top of that, my husband was seen here just a few weeks ago. He arrived early for his scheduled appointment and still waited over an hour to be seen. The real problem is obvious. They are overbooking patients despite having only one doctor on staff. The customer service here is rude, and they clearly do not value their patients' time.
