We ordered takeout and waited while it was prepared. The restaurant was not at all busy. The order was carried out to us in a bag by a friendly employee. We didn't check the contents of the bag, assuming it was a complete order. When we got home (a ten minute drive) we discovered that one of the items was not in the bag. We drove back to the restaurant. We were told that one of the items comes in a box and was not in the bag for that reason. I guess we were supposed to know that. I don't blame the person who carried our order to the table, but I would have expected the manager that we spoke to after our return to the restaurant to have minimally apologized or perhaps have offered us a complimentary soft drink or cookie. Nope. Just put the blame on us and said the employee was new. So we took the missing item home as we vowed to never return to that location. read more

This is the most disgusting location in Austin Texas. The staff is rude and have no patience, the manager there Jack Barnes need to invest in hiring new staff. I work in customer service and no one wants to work all day and then come to a drive thru where someone has a nasty attitude because you dislike your job if you dislike your job you need to quit!!! A few weeks ago I went there, and while the food was good, I had the hardest time convincing the server to give me both sandwiches I ordered. After going back and forth at least 3 times, he finally said "I only see one person sitting here", and then he very reluctantly gave it to me. Then about 20-25 minutes later, after I finished both (they were just small sandwiches by the way, and I didn't order chips), he came by, dropped his jaw, and said "I can't believe you ate both". and "You wolfed those down!". Really? 20-25 minutes is "wolfing down"? He then asked if I still wanted the second pickle (which was still on my plate), and I said yes, and he said, "then I won't take your plates away yet". Overall, these and other comments went a long way towards making me feel guilty for ordering two small sandwiches, and his harassment was not called for at all, as I didn't know him, nor had I addressed him before any of this. When I filled out a survey to get a their standard coupon, the form said they wanted to contact me about the negative experience, and to please provide them contact info. I did, but the management has never contacted me. Based on this, I guess they condone the harassment, and so I've stopped visiting this Schlotzsky's. read more

I had bought my salad and coke at the location in Round Rock and was driving over to work. I tasted my coke and it was horrible. This location was on the way to work so I stopped and asked them if they could replace it for me. The manager was so nice and helpful and even said he was going to call the other location but it seemed they probably had a problem with their machine. Yesterday I had got a Rueben sandwich, (which I had found out recently they call it a "Pastrami Stacker") and ordered it incorrectly (COMPLETELY MY OWN FAULT) and upon receiving my large sandwich I saw it was on their famous sourdough not their brown rye. I quickly went back in confusion to find out they do not make a large rye loaf for their pastrami stacker so it has to be made special in a large sourdough! Don't make the same mistake as me! I explained I thought I was getting it on rye not sourdough and they quickly and happily gave me a pastrami stacker on rye no questions asked and were super kind about it. I couldn't have been more grateful for the understanding, kind service. As someone who has worked retail and service industry their whole life I know how stressful people can be and how hard it can be to keep your cool especially when you know someone ordered like a moron. They couldn't have been kinder to me and I am eternally grateful! It's things like that, that make people take note and be loyal to a company or place of business! Keep up the good work! Sadly Very disappointed. I am a rare Austinite that I actually grew up on Schlotzsky's. And as the economy grows I understand it there is going to be pricing increases. But nothing as near as what was trying to be charged to me on My last visit. I went into a non-busy store wanted to place two separate orders one for myself and one for my boss they no longer have the turkey avocado sandwich so I asked the counter help I wanted something similar as that she understood she asked me smoked or roasted turkey she made her calculations and my bosses order was roughly around $9.00 well I wanted the exact same thing so I told her make the second order exactly the same as the order before. The price for that order was $13.00. So I asked why such a drastic price difference the gentleman that helped her ring me up simply said because avocado cost more. And My thought $4.00 more that's a lot!!! I know the one I went to was recently renovated now you can buy beer after a certain time of day but it their lunchtime is when they are the busiest that I've noticed I would feel that you would at least attempt to make your lunch crowd a little bit happier and want to actually come back to have lunch there again when I was experiencing my unpleasant encounter. I had also notice the woman next to me was on their game she made comments of all no you're not doing that to me again I'm not paying extra for that I'll just go without. I am complaining to bring awareness to the inconsistency of charges. read more

This location was one of the best. The food is always good at all locations but this particular building was the most appealing. This location gave a very Austin feel, which is what I expect. The artwork on the walls along with the rectangle metal tray made this location unique. Employees here are friendly and attentive. All locations should follow your lead. read more

I was FaceTimeing my wife while she was at the drive through at this particular location last week, disgusted as I listened to one of the employees talk so disrespectful to her(he came running out of the restaurant to her car) yelling at her, saying she cut in line and passed some sort of cones. She saw no one behind her, which, how else would she be able to get ahead in line and that's not something she would ever do (cut in front of someone). Regardless if someone had cut in line, on purpose, or on accident, there is NO excuse to talk to anyone like he did. I am livid, as I heard the entire conversation from the phone. He was Hispanic and in a blue shirt and everyone else was wearing green. Maybe a manager, I don't know. We eat there a couple times a week and This place lost a couple of customer that day. read more

Excellent service. I'm a regular at their drive-thru and have never once had an incorrect order. Sandwiches, pizzas, salads and sweet tea are good, but I'm not a big fan of their soups. Kids meals are great.. my picky daughter loves their pizzas and their sandwiches. Recently used them for catering and it was a big hit at our party! read more

I have been eating "The Old Original Sandwich" since they were a solo shop down on South Congress. The buns are to diesky for. I would leave Austin and relocate but some places I might want to live may not have a Schlotsky's and that is a "must have" for me. read more

We got there an hour and a half before they closed, with one person sitting at a table alone with food. They promptly took our order but did not seem pleased to do so, and in the process, threw the chips on the counter & didn't ask any questions throughout the ordering. It took over 15 minutes to receive our 3 simple sandwiches, and the whole time while waiting, you could hear the staff making jokes and laughing behind the counters. During this time, a man walked in & stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before an employee noticed him. After the man ordered, a worker used the same gloves to throw trash away, organize items on the counter, & handle some of the food the man had ordered. Another worker also used his hands to move cinnamon rolls without gloves, and walked away wiping his hand off on his shirt. When they did give us the food, the man handling the food was joking around and yelling across the counter at other employees, more than likely covering our food in his spit. A manager was present while all of this happened, he witnessed the mishandling of the food, and was even a part of the joking around. I am disappointed to have such a bad experience, because I have enjoyed the food and service at other locations. read more

A co-worker and I had lunch at this Schlotzsky's. We loved our original medium Schlotzsky's sandwiches. This Schlotzsky's is better than the average Schlotzsky's. My co-worker ordered chips and a homemade cookie which he loved as well. There were about 15 people in line in front of us but the line moved along very quickly.We received our food about 5 minutes after we ordered. We will be back for sure. read more
