Ordered for the first time at this restaurant and had it delivered through Grub Hub. The Kid's Pizza we ordered was missing from the order and left our 3 year old completely disappointed. I called the restaurant to let them know we didn't receive the pizza. The person that answered the phone's solution was to come on in and get your pizza. I said I ordered it for delivery and she told me I needed to call DoorDash because they don't deliver. What?? This was my first time trying Schlotzsky's and I loved it! I ordered the 'Pick 2' and got shrimp mac 'n' cheese and margherita flatbread. Everything tasted amazing! I was also really impressed with the quality of the ingredients. Everything seemed fresh from the tomatoes on my flatbread to the cilantro on my mac 'n' cheese. Rude. I went through the drive thru and the tone and manner of speaking made it clear that customers are an inconvenience--not a great start, since their parking lot and drive were totally empty. No hello, just "What do you want?" "What else?" Then a price. Then I got to the window, waited a few, and was startled by a number yelled at me out of the window--I was glancing away at the moment. No thank you. No hello. Just a number. And they handed me the food before taking my money, which is just asking for a) me to drive away without paying or b) me to drive away without my card. A co-worker of mine has talked about Scholtzsky's for as long as I have known him. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stop by this on in Olathe to sit down and eat. I was able to grab a quick roast beef on jalapeno cheddar bread to take with me on the plane ride back home. I wasn't expecting much when I took out the sandwich a few hours later while in the air. it tasted so good though that I wish I had made the time to go in and have a fresh one. This restaurant is like taking a trip to Austin, Texas. I highly recommend the brisket mac n cheese - unbelievably good. Have not tried the spicy version yet but that is on my list. The take 2 special is really good. 2 half sandwiches and 2 soups. Couldn't believe they carry Cinnabon also! The large cinnamon roll can and should be shared. We used to have a Schlotzky's Deli back where I grew up and my family loved going there. Then they closed. Fast forward about 12 years and I was surprised to see one in the KC area! I've been to list location several times. This location is always clean, which is very important to me. For quick and reasonable priced food I'd come here over any other fast food chain hands down. Every time I've visited the manager/owner has been there working which is something I like to see. He preps food, takes orders, serves food seems like he really cares. I haven't been to a Schlotzsky;s in probably ten years and they have changed a lot since then. Maybe it is the difference in locations. I remembered them as having great sandwiches. Now they are ok. I was really unimpressed with what they called sourdough bread. I also am not a huge fan of shredded lettuce on my sandwiches, but that is just a preference thing. I debated the "Cuban" but the picture looked like sliced ham and pork lunch meat Arby's style. Being a "Cuban" fan, I went with the roast beef. The roast beef was tender and had good flavor. It was sliced nice and thin and piled in a clump on two-thirds of the sandwich. The bread really overtook the entire sandwich. Just really too much. An ok sandwich overall, but not great. The sandwich was average...nothing spectacular. It was a Reuben and they didn't have any Rye bread. I opted for wheat. However, the sandwich came with sour dough. If stars were based on service it would be a minus 5. The woman was impatient on the intercom. At the window she hands me the bag and says, "is that all?" Before I said anything she said....oh yes, you had a water with no ice. She hands me the cup. No thank you nothing. I pull away. No napkins in the bag. The cup was a foam cup and it was cracked so the water went all over me and my vehicle. Usually rudeness at a fast food restaurant will come from a teenager who lacks proper upbringing. This was not a teenager and she certainly should have better manners if she's going to work with the public. read more

Delicious food, and great service if you dine-in. However, I've sat in the drive-thru for 25 minutes minimum every time I go to this branch, and I've never gone at a high-traffic time. It makes me sad. :( read more

The planning & Engineering Department located at the KCI Airport had our breakfast catered. It was very, very good. The fruit was wonderful and fresh. The Cinnabon's were sooo good (heavenly). I've used Bart for catering going on 4 or 5 times now within the last couple of months and have ordered everything from sandwiches to pasta to salad. Every single time his team has been early, the food has been fresh, the set up and presentation always looked great, and sometimes he even throws in a few extra complimentary cookies or extra gallon of lemonade. Food was great, service was fine, but I couldn't get past the extremely long haired younger guy who took my order and brought me my food. He could not keep his hands off of his hair do it it falling into his eyes, then brings me food. Seems like a health code issue. I doubt I come back, which sad. I love the food. read more

Just got back home, opened it, threw it in the trash. I ordered a sandwich with no tomatoes, no onions. I repeated that wish twice. There were tomatoes, and there were two kind of onions on it, red and the green ones I hate even worse that were everywhere. 6:15 and I have to head out into traffic, again, to get food, and it's raining, oh great. A friend picked me up for lunch, and we headed to the Schlotzky's drive-thru (did not want to go inside because we had dogs in the car with us). After sitting in the drive-thru and not moving for 5 (or more) minutes, we debated backing out and finding another place. Then another vehicle came and blocked us in. We finally got to the order box, and the woman was rude, impatient, curt, and interupptive. They have a big sign for their Creamy Chicken Tortilla soup, however we were told they were out. As we tried to decide what we wanted instead, the woman was extremely impatient. Now, I know that they were obviously swamped with the long drive-thru line, but kindness can go a long way. We were in the drive-thru line a total of 20 minutes! When we finally got to the window, the woman practically lunged at us each time she opened her window (to which my friend remarked she felt like she was in a bad zombie movie, with drive-thru zombies trying to break through the wall). We finally got our food and parked so we could eat and chat. Food was just fine. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken with no onion, and they remembered, so that was good. My friend ordered the Chicken BBQ pizza, which looked and smelled good. She enjoyed it. I also ordered the Cinnabon "Center of the Roll" to take back to work. When I got back to work and attempted to eat this treat, it was rock hard! First, it is advertised as "It's the best part of the Classic Roll - the ooey, gooey middle! These bite-sized pieces are topped with our signature cream cheese frosting and are available at participating locations" Well, this was not the best part. It looks like they took the old Cinnabon rolls that were baked three days ago, cut them up, and put them in a cup. The pieces were rock hard, dry, and inedible. I was very upset. Not sure I'm going to bother going back anytime again (to this Olathe location--Schlotzsky's, in general, is a pretty decent chain). read more

I was sadly disappointed it seems that you really don't get a sandwich, you get bread...Where is the meat???? I remember when Originals actually had meat that you could taste on them. I will not be going back unless I hear that they actually change their prices to match what you get.
