I was getting my tire fixed next door and walked over to this location to get drink and Cinnabon bun. The gentleman behind the counter was very pleasant. I ordered a Cinnabon and a drink and went to sit down. All of the tables were dirty and sticky. I was the only customer at the time. I did ask to have a table wiped off which he did do for me. The staff are wonderful. Management, not so much. It's a hot day. Decided to have a late lunch with my son. I've got health issues like lung cancer and much more. We walked inside and it felt like another heat wave hit your face. The staff were sweating, felt horrible for them. They were kind, considerate, apologetic for the inconvenience of no air conditioning in the establishment. Son and I tried to sit long enough and maybe power it through. Couldn't do it. Food was brought to us. Thanked the employee for the food. Asked for to go boxes because it's too hot to eat inside. If the staff looked miserable, customers were miserable. Took the food out of the store and had an asthma attack in the car. Again, have health issues. Didn't expect to experience eating a sandwich in what felt like a sauna. At the end of the day, if you (management) spent a little more money focused on the patrons of your business being comfortable as they enjoy their food, maybe they would not be taking their business across the street to Panera Bread. Panera Bread turns their air conditioning ON! You've got great employees who take pride in their job. They were apologetic for something they can't control. Been sitting in drive thru for 40 minutes...because drive thru only, no one would answer phone to cancel my online order, finally get to place to order and they say they're not taking any more orders...when there are literally two cars (me and the one behind me) left in line to order. Not the best experience. We ordered a small fresh veggie - the bread was huge & there was barely any veggies. Seriously, two cucumbers & a dusting of lettuce. I asked for extra olives, which were a $1.50 & I'm pretty sure there wasn't any extra olives!! Our second sandwich was the large turkey & guacamole - same thing, thick bread with barely any meat or guacamole. And to top it off, we waited 12 minutes in the drive thru. 12 minutes. I finally put my head in the kitchen area and the staff there must have had earbuds on because they didn't hear me when I said hello. A blue-haired girl finally emerged. I ordered a curbside pick up order. When I got to the restaurant, there was no designated curbside pickup location. I parked at the front of the restaurant and called the store and they told me to get in line in the drive-thru and wait! I'm sorry, I know each order takes at least 5 minutes per car, I didn't want to wait 15 minutes for my sandwiches that's why I ordered curbside pick up. I told the lady on the phone "I'd prefer to not wait behind the cars in the drive-thru, I'm parked up front" she said that if I didn't want to wait in line I could come in and pick up my food!! Sad sad sad when just getting a simple dinner gets you thoroughly insulted and you spent over 50 minutes at a fast food and still come home with a wrong order ‍ Award Winning Schlotzsky's!! Indeed this is an award swimming dinner. They get the award for getting the order wrong almost every time! It is always something with this place! They get the award for the most rude staff you can imagine. They get the award for the laziest stuff who act bothered when you order something! They get the award for the most incompetent stuff and most incompetent management too!! Bad on me that I keep giving them a chance! Came in the other day and ordered two pepperoni pizzas and Calzones. After an incredibly long wait I got two pizzas, which I would latter find out are cheese pizzas. Then comes the long wait for the diet sprite without ice, which they can't seem to get right and I'm given regular sprite with ice! My son and I bit into one slice each of pizza as we wait and wait ...no pepperoni! I let them know about this and they looked offended that I brought it up, I wait longer, at this point I am at the window over 35 minutes!! The window finally opens and they handed me a few pieces of pepperoni in a box and tell me to put it on top of the pizza!!! I handled them back to pizza boxes and asked them to remake pepperoni pizza as we paid for on the receipt and they said they can't do that and I should just put the pepperoni on the pizza. Also their machine is broken and they can't ring up the Schlotzsky's coupon for a free drink and so they say they don't give out free food?!? Huh! It's just gets more and more ridiculous from there?! What free food if I'm giving them back the pizzas they got wrong to remake! We also ordered two calzones that they got wrong! I went inside to talk to the staff and they're just incompetent teenage kids! I could have been okay with that but they were so condescending, rude and disrespectful on top of that. I ask why they can't remake the pizzas and they say it's because the owner says they can't remake the pizzas for me?!? I asked to speak with the owner and they say their older is not here but she told them not to remake the pizza for me (mind you I have never met this owner?! ). I asked them how she could have told them not to give it to me specifically if she is not there?!?! They don't even know my name. It then gets more bizarre with them saying that she recognized my voice while they were on the phone with her while I was making the order from the car ‍‍‍. Folks you can't make this craziness up!!! I am an IT executive in there they are telling me that Schlotzsky's that I am asking for free food when I tell them to re-make an order that they messed up?!? Then they accused me somehow of the fact that now there are two wasted pizzas. And I'm like who's fault is that?? Exasperated I told them they must be confusing me with someone clearly and that I wanted to talk to their manager and I asked them to give my number to her to give me a call when she gets in. But these kids just abandoned the front desk and rudely walked back to the kitchen without taking my number to give to their manager. One of the girls cleaning up the tables clearly felt so embarrassed and bad about how they had treated and insulted me. She quietly took my number and apologized. Today was my first and last visit to the Roanoke Texas Schlotzsky's location . The store charged me for additional chicken when I asked to substitute chicken for the turkey on the sandwich . This is a substitution I make at other locations all the time. I only came to the Roanoke location because they have a drive-through and I wanted to bring my dog along for the ride. After paying for the order I was informed that the items were not available and when I asked for a refund I was told to come back tomorrow, because the manager was not on duty. This was 8/17/21 After two trips to get a refund I keep getting told to come back or they will call me. The manager is never there when I go and and no call back. Came here for a quick lunch, approximately 35 mins later, my daughter & I had our food; sandwich & flatbread. The food was subpar, both the bun on the sandwich & the edge of the flatbread was a little too brown, but still edible. We were there around 2pm and there were very few patrons in the store. Also noted several empty, but still dirty tables that never got cleaned while we, and 2 other customers ahead of us, waited for our orders. We have eaten a Schlotzky' original each week since this location opened. We have always loves Schlotzky's, but this one is the best ever. The food is so fresh and hot. The only thing I would recommend improving is the lettuce. I have noticed that most shredded lettuce served at restaurants on sandwiches these days has a funny taste -- not fresh. What is it that causes that? The bag it is stored in? A preservative? I am sure it is more cost effective to buy bagged shredded lettuce -- not to shred the lettuce before each busy period.
