Had to stop by an old favorite with a hard to pronounced name. The establishment had a nice decor up in the front of the dining room and also by the ordering section. It didn't look as welcoming in the back though but the place was pretty clean. Both the cashier and cook were friendly too. The food had the same good flavor as I remembered from years ago however the presentation of it was different. It didn't look as appetizing but still tasted good. read more

Schlotzsky's in general is good, but the service here has been below par the few times I have been there. This time, it took us 40 minutes to get one small original sandwich. When asked, they explained that there were "other orders before you" (looked like catering) + when we wondered why other customers that came in after us were being served first, we were told they "called in their orders". Even if this were true, 40 minutes is unacceptable. Every time we were about to leave, we were told it was coming right up. Right. Plus, they were only obligingly cordial here. Not quite a 1 star rating though, because they were not rude exactly. Closer to a 1.5. Aside from this time, other visits were more like a 10 minutes wait, which is still longer than other locations, but acceptable. Maybe I am spoiled by the excellent customer service at other Schlotzsky's locations, but I don't really feel welcome here; grudgingly attended to would be a better description. read more

I had a $10 medium French dip at this Schlotzsky's today. This was my first time ever visiting a Schlotzsky's. The sandwich lacked flavor for the amount of calories it packs. Staff were pleasant. Sandwich came out in 3-4 minutes. Dining room area was mostly full but not loud. read more

Update May 26 They have such a clean place! They are the most conscientious Schlotzskeys team I have encountered! This is not the closest location to me but yhis is the one I trust to do it right! Schlotzsky's celebrates 45 years this year. It's a Texas original and I have eaten here alot over the years. I have a hankering for them every two 7 weeks or so, might go more but none of the locations are very close to me. This location is unquestionably the best in service and quality of five locations in the city despite it's shady look in a shopping strip that has seen better days. The windows are tinted so you cannot see anything inside but once you go inside it's inviting and homey. Zuri who took my order tonight is really nice. There is a Don's & Ben's liquor store next door and it is fun watching all different types of people walk in, like a Vegas pawn shop, some accidently walked in to Schlotzskey's thinking it was the liquor store. read more

Great food!! One cook has horrible customer service. It's not the one with glasses it's the other guy. Went to the counter to pick up my order as I usually do and I gave him my name and he rudely told me to go to the counter instead and I politely asked him but it's for a pick up and he just ignored me and continued working. I love this place but if he's gonna continue to be an asshole I'll just take my money to a different location. read more

This was my 2nd time visiting this restaurant. The 1st time I realized I didn't care for the sandwiches because of the bread. This time I figured I would try a salad. I chose the kale and grilled chicken salad. DELICIOUS. I made a few slight changes by adding some different veggies but the dressing is great salad was great. This is a large salad so I couldn't eat all of it while at work. So I sealed it up and decided to finish it at home. I tied the bag and put it in the fridge. When I got home I opened the salad and saw something move. Then out jumps this bug! Not a dead bug a fully functioning bug! I cringe at the thought of eating his family while I was grubbin on the other half of my salad. This salad is 8.49 plus tax so if u get a salad from here please be sure to really check your food before digging in. You dont want your money in the trash read more

Came in for a dinner Togo after a long day working, myself. They close at 6:30 and it was 6:14. The minute I walked up to the counter "what are you having?" Ok I'll make it quick. Got the original. Noticed a new double original on the menu...more meat. I usually think the sandwiches are loaded so I said no. Got a Cinnabon too after "what else". "Ok and what else". Just felt really forgotten about on customer service. After I got home I noticed the Original didn't have nearly as much meat as it used to. The line was long, but went by quickly. My original was everything I have come to expect from Schlotzsky's. It was cooked perfectly. My husband had a bbq club. He also really enjoyed it. The chips were tasty and the soda was cold. The place was clean and the cashier and cool friendly. We will definitely ce.back to this location. read more

Food is ok, service is not! The person, Matthew, who took our order was unfriendly and also forgot to add the avocado as ordered to my daughters sandwich. I brought it to his attention and instead of apologizing he says "well I have to charge you for it". I don't have an issue paying for what we asked for, however I do have an issue with what happened. When I went back to the register to pay for the avocado, I commented that she told him when she ordered it to add it to her sandwich, all he could say is "well I made a mistake-I'm human, things happen." I then commented how usually managers cover employees mistakes like this, he then tells me he IS the manager!?! Wow! Even worse! A manager disregarding his responsibility and shoving off my complaint. This was after he had an attitude while taking our order the first time. I let him know that we would not be returning to his restaurant, and I would post a review about this and let people know. His reply was "I don't care"! I told him that that was very sad to hear! I hope his owner knows he doesn't care about having customers return to his store! I got to talk to the lady owner(she didn't tell me her name) before we left- she agreed he doesn't care because it's not his business- apologized for his behavior, and will talk to him. Cheese was melted beyond recognition no option to have the sandwich heated or not? The meat is a horrible version of cheap cold cuts how can u even use the word sandwich in your name? I grew up in Austin, TX where Schlotzsky's was founded, so I've eaten a lot of Schlotzsky's in my lifetime.....This location in San Antonio makes the books as one I've my favorites. I go here a lot on my lunch breaks a lot because it's near my work. This location has always been really clean and the staff has always been very friendly & seems willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. I'm currently ADDICTED to their pizzas, especially the double pepperoni& cheese... between the sourdough crust & the sun-dried tomato pesto sauce, you can't beat the quality and size for the price. I've ordered a zillion of these pizzas from this location. They've always come out perfectly cooked in a reasonable amount of time for something that is fast food & is a good option for the timeframe of my super short lunch break. I'd have to say, the only drawback to this location is that they don't have a drive thru or online ordering. I see that they have a phone in order system and also a reward system, so I will be trying those on my next trip. Despite not having a drive through, the short walk inside is not a deal breaker because the staff is so friendly & personable. They've delivered my To-Go order right to my table. I've always been offered a free cup to get water while I'm waiting without me even having to ask, which is a really nice customer service touch (it really is the little things!), and considering I don't really have to wait long. On a separate note, the ladies restroom is always very clean and well stocked, another thing I really appreciate. Keep up the great work! I'll see y'all again real soon. :-) read more

We've coming here for lunch or dinner for a long time. I would rather come here than go to the other San Antonio locations because the staff treats you right. The food is prepared like it should be, staff is friendly and you feel welcome. Having the liquor store next door just add entertainment, you never know what you'll see. I visited the store today. There was miscommunication with the order. I clarified the order and since the order was ready I paid for two other sandwiches. Hinesight gave them the sandwiches and told them I didn't want them. Instead of making new sandwiches they scrapped the wrong order off the bun, remade to my order and reheated the sandwich. Resulting in hard bread and cheese and tasting terrible. Do not visit this location. read more
