What an amazing meal! My fiancé and I swung by for lunch on our way to the Witte and we're so glad that we did. The interior of this place was so unique, the staff were welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Naturally we had to sit in the upstairs dining area just for the novelty of it, and while we didn't have to wait too long for our meal, we had fun playing the trivia card game that was on each table. I ordered the Parmo Pollo Panini with Tomato Basil Soup. The chicken in the Panini was a little dry, but coupled with the Tomato Basil Soup I could hardly tell. While they were delicious together, both were just as tasty on their own. The Panini was a good hearty sandwich, and the Tomato Basil Soup was packed full with delicious spices. I ended up taking up half of both the Soup and Panini to go as the portions were so large. I'm glad we went at the start of lunch rush as it was packed by the time we left. Here is my honest review starting with the most important part, the food. Food was good in the sense that it was your typically deli food. Nothing extraordinary but good. The reason I give it a 3 star vs. 4 ia because we were visiting for the first time and looked visibly lost and no one offered to help us or explained to us that we had to order at the counter. Charging $12.99 for inedible food like this is a total rip-off, and I honestly cannot believe the kitchen thought it was acceptable to serve it. What makes it even worse is that I selected a 20% tip when paying at order, only to receive this kind of food and treatment. On top of that, the silverware provided was greasy, leaving me to wonder if it had even been washed properly. The table itself was also sticky and far from clean. Went here with my other half and the vibes outmatched the food. I had a lot of fun coloring and having great conversation in here. The food did not impress me. It had some flavor in the sandwich, but the mac and cheese tasted worse than craft and velveta and I can't stand either. Kids are welcome and reservations are not required since they're only open until 4:00. The food is traditional deli style sandwiches with soups, wraps and salad also available. Today, I ordered Tomato Basil Soup & Grilled Cheese as a combo. The soup is very tasty and the three cheese sandwich pressed as a panini was grilled just right. Soda, tea and water are available for drinks, sorry no alcohol. Parking is free and limited with no parking on Broadway. For larger groups, there's an upstairs area - check for availability first. They do have on site parking. They have many selections of hot and cold sandwiches. I noticed they also had brunch. I opted for an egg salad sandwich with a Caesar salad as my side. The sandwich was hearty and flavorful. They do have a display of some amazing cookies. I wanted to try the lemon white chocolate one and was lucky enough to go on a day of where they were having a promotion of buy one get one free. I ended up trying the coconut cream one as well. The coconut cream was a little too sweet for my taste, but I can see how it can be popular. For drinks, they have coffee, fountain drinks and a good selection of cold brew teas. Lunch with a dear friend at a familar place, what could be better!? Watching one of the staff coming out of the kitchen with a stack of cookies just tickled my fancy. The melon salad was wonderful. My fly friends who joined us for lunch truly enjoyed our lunch. It was all very fresh & tasty. Not blaming them for how my brain twitches. I love the salad, just a little less mayo. Next time I'll ask. My friend was just not having it. She's worse than I am. No mayo! The hibiscus & mint tea was super refreshing. Meeting friends for lunch we decided to meet at WD deli. I haven't been here in a while, so I was looking forward to catching up. After looking over the board menus I walk up to the counter and order the southwest roast beef sandwich with a side of the tortilla soup. They have a drink counter where you can serve yourself and I really liked the selection of flavored teas they offered; I started off with the hibiscus/mint then later had a jasmine/green tea. My order was brough out and the roast beef sandwich was really tasty due to the jalapeño cream cheese which gave its own identity from others I've had. The roast beef was thinly sliced and nicely brined. The bread was nicely toasted and the lettuce/tomato was fresh and crispy. The tortilla soup was a tomato base soup that had a very tasty flavor profile that blended perfectly with the chicken chunks, toasted chips and cheese. This would be great on a really cold day as it is definitely a comfort food. Overall, I'm glad that I came by to revisit WD Deli. I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. read more
