Terrible drive thru service. They ask everyone to pull up out front and they will bring the food out. I waited over 15 min. Finally someone came to my car and asked my order, didn't have it. She went back inside. I finally went inside the building after 5 more minutes. The woman told me they had come out but couldn't find my car, so they threw it away. Never mind that I had just informed someone which order I was waiting on. So they remade it. No apologies. Not a "sorry about that" or anything. The Schlotzsky's on Brodie is always clean and VERY friendly. It's a very busy location so sometimes they run out of tea but they are quick to respond. I was sad they stopped making regular breakfast tacos and replaced with breakfast sandwiches and a breakfast burrito they call Breakfast Omelette. Ordered lunch for me and my daughter as I wasn't feeling well; ordered two broccoli cheese soups and one salad to split with her and the only crappy part is that this chain was out of this soup which was such a let down so our only options were loaded potato soup and enchilada soup so we got one of each; it was ok. It's such a bummer when you're in the mood for something and the venue is out of it. Their broccoli cheddar soup is the most disgusting soup I've ever had. It doesn't even taste like real cheese. I had an order last weekend that was pretty pricey - about $26 overall with a large sandwich that cost $13.49 that I was not satisfied with. The other items were good but the sandwich really disappointed me. It was a drive thru order, so I gave the store a call and spoke to the manager. My sandwich didn't come with veggies on it and it tasted very dry as a result. The manager offered to offer a replacement sandwich and explained that this certain sandwich specifically didn't come with veggies on it. It was a pleasant and friendly customer service experience and my issue was resolved quickly. Since it was a drive thru order, I was unable to make it back that day. A week later, I'm enjoying a much better sandwich with veggies on it as I type this review. The food here is great, I just wouldn't recommend the Beef Bacon Smokecheesey. read more

Back then when you had a 45 minute lunch you spent 30 of it waiting for your made from scratch sandwich come out of the oven and you'd wolf it down on the way back to work while listening to Sammy Hagger sing "I can't drive 55"........ FAST FORWARD to today. I LOVE this location because of the genuine WELCOME and many times a free pickle slice if you wink at the cashier. The tables are wiped down ( a major pet peeve of mine is sticky tables) and the place is swept up too. The manager came by to ask how they were doing today. Ever been to a cool restaurant and the men's room smells like a boys high school gym locker and ruins the experience? Well, you WON'T find that here, it's as clean as Jason "Mr. 512"s virtue. All in all we go out of my way to eat at THIS location for the great food and remember the good ole days when hippies smoked in the restaurant and women happily breast fed their babies right next to you. read more

I've probably driven by this place a hundred times, but there are so many food choices in the area I never gave them a second thought. Finally ML & I were hungry after leaving Barnes & Noble and it was right in front of us so we gave it a shot. Good call. The first thing I noticed was the staff. The manager was at the counter and was knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of ML's questions about gluten, garlic, and all the other things she's allergic to. They have a huge amount of gluten free food and are more than happy to change foods to accommodate people's food sensitivities. They also have a pretty varied menu, with pasta dishes and pizzas as well as sandwiches, salads and soups. She had the half & half soup & sandwich, a ham & cheese & tomato bisque. I had the pastrami on a pretzel roll. Both were very good. Good enough that I'd absolutely get mine again and she would absolutely get hers. The breads were delicious and bakery fresh. This Schlotzky's has a TCBY and a Cinnabon inside it and although we didn't try them lots of others did and clearly enjoyed them both. The only thing that keeps them from getting 5 stars is that it was tough to find a table that wasn't filled with the remains of previous diners. It was right after the lunch rush and there was a worker cleaning tables so I'll assume they do keep on it and we just hit it wrong. I tend to believe this since everybody seemed genuinely happy to be there and all hands were clearly working hard to keep the flow moving. So now I know. I like Schlotzky's. I have eaten here about 5 times since they opened - the service and quality has been consistently good. After my last visit I felt the urge to Yelp; so, here I go. I recently had the most amazingly yummy Mozzarella & Portobello Panini here, it also includes spinach, tomato and olive oil - 5 of my favorite foods on very yummy bread - I am developing a craving just writing about it! I can also highly recommend the Smoked Turkey & Guacamole Panini and the Greek Salad. For "fast food" this place serves up some very fresh and healthy drive-through food. Sandwiches, they can't seem to mess up, but what the heck is wrong with their morning taco crew? I order 6 tacos every so often, and now, the girl that messes everything up isn't there, there's someone new to replace her incompetence. I order 6 tacos, really simple, just potato, they were all the same. I get: 2 tacos the way I ordered, 3 with cheese, and 1 more with cheese and egg. I know what happened, most likely these ass hats just grabbed what was there, not caring. This is the last time I visit this establishment without opening every single, gosh darn taco, and then giving them a piece of my mind for messing up such a simple order. Really, how incompetent of a human being do you have to be to consistently be so bad at serving such a very simple order? Very upset right now. I've been coming to this location for years since my kids get the pizza box with a drink and cookie. Today, we were informed of a change in menu that includes half the pizza in a flatbread bread (3 mini slices) and drink and cookie for the same price! My kids are 6, 8 and 10 and this would have been a snack to them. Needless to say, we had to buy a 10 inch pizza to accommodate for the missing slices. I've never felt so ripped off. Schlotzsky's ran a ad during one of the football games I watched on Sunday indicating their sandwiches would be $3.99 as would be the the kids size pizza. I ordered two sandwiches and kid's cheese pizza and I was charged the same price as on the menu. When I questioned the cashier he checked with another guy who was working the to go window and he simply told my cashier no, the price he charged me was correct. While not wanting to offend anyone with my freshly hiked body...I decided on drive through. I love the salads here! Buuuut when I got home I had a sammich in my bag. Accidents happen! When I think 'Meh,' I think Schlotzsky's. Why? Two recent experiences there have turned me off from this place like sour milk. Flashback to the first time: It doesn't take an idiot to figure out that $10+$6+$5 does not equal $30+. like the cashier at the drive-thru likes to claim when my boyfriend and I placed our order for two combos and a small sandwich. Why even offer a 'combo' meal with chips and a drink if you're going to charge them separately to hike up the price? So after the cashier had taken our order and told us our total was in the neighborhood of $30+, we computed the actual total in our heads and just peeled out of there like bats out of hell. We've never left after placing an order anywhere, but I wasn't about to hand over my money to someone who can't ring up an order correctly. Fast forward to today: My forgiving nature led us back here, only to have our order taken by a guy who kept suggesting that maybe we weren't sure that we wanted the large combo, and are we sure we want the $10 large sandwiches, which would be $11.99 plus tax separately? What the heck? How does a $10 meal suddenly become $11.99 plus tax? Is there some Schlotzsky's voodoo that they do? Then he kept telling us we wanted Cokes, right? Like there weren't any other drink options, which there were, but he kept trying to get us to order Coke. At this point, I wanted to ask him if he wanted our business or not. He was getting pushy to the point where I just wanted to get our food and leave. Well, this marks the second time that we peeled out of the drive-thru without getting what we ordered. This time we both ordered the $10 combos separately, which with tax shouldn't have been over $25. Then he proceeds to tell us that this will all be $32+ for the combo. I sat there thinking to myself, "Here we go with the price hike again." My boyfriend didn't even look at me. He straight up asked, "Are we leaving or no?" I gave him the go-ahead, and off we went in search of a place whose combos actually include what they say they would all for one price. And no, don't believe the Check-Ins. I checked in here twice on those two occasions, but Schlotzsky's, don't kid yourself. I'm not a regular here. I've had their food before, and it was good, but the sandwich sizes are definitely not worth the price, which explains why the Schlotzsky-robot cashiers thought they were clever than the average customer by trying to upsell their food. "WELCOME TO SCHLOTZKY'S" will be the first words you hear bellowing from the cash registers when you walk into this german-sounding restaurant. Don't be fooled by the name though, it is an Austin original :) Love this place. Through years of middle school and high school and even now reuniting with friends from those times, this has been always the top pick. Good - omg. the pizza. Yes, I know it isn't known for the pizza, but try it! Try the bbq chicken if you are into that kind of flavor, not sure who isn't! Bad - I have seen it run out of water on more than one instance and no one seems to be want to refill it. Overall: I still love this place. But is it the best I've ever had? No. It has evolved into less of a child-friendly place (by taking down the wall of computers for kids to play video games on) but free wifi is great too :) read more

There is really no surprises at Schlotzsky's when it comes to the menu and the quality of food. It stays pretty uniform at all times. Although I really with they would make the bacon beefy smoked cheesy sandwich a permanent menu item. I only decided to write a review for this location because of the service I received. The counter staff is always friendly. The dining room and bathroom are always clean. They even take the time to ask if you want the complimentary pickle and when they bring your food to the table to see if you want some of there hot sauce. The hot sauce is not hot by any stretch of the imagination but it adds a good flavor, especially to the turkey bacon club. read more

Two vegetarian options, friendly staff. I was shocked to see how this location has changed to add TCBY and Cinnabon. Impressed by the cleanliness--I saw staff sweeping and even detailing table pedestals. Sandwiches were good, particularly the bread. Pickles are very good. Wish they had veggie protein though, maybe a patty, Tofurkey, or boiled eggs. Very reasonable prices, two medium sandwiches totaled less than $11! On leaving I saw a great outdoor seating area, shaded and with fans. I'm super impressed. read more

I love this place. As far as the sandwiches go, I always get the small smoked turkey. The jalapeno chips are my fave. I do like the addition of the salads as well. I smoked turkey salad is really good and I like that they have a pick 2 option. The cinnamon buns smell great but I try to not eat them. I do like that they have added a healthier option with TCBY. I have always had great service and never any problems. I love this place as a lighter food option when running errands in those shopping centers. read more
