Came here looking for the Dubai Chocolate items to make at home... we left with so much more! Very friendly shop owners and employees. They had Kadayif in a bag and also Kataifi in the frozen section. Then they had the pistachio cream paste. The chicken shawarma that is made to order is SOOOOOo good. Warm when they had it to you for 9.99. They have kabob plates we will try next! Now the ck shawarma is not the size of a chipotle burrito yet it packs a punch! Marinated chicken, wonderful spices, a to die for garlic aioli or hummus spread which ward off vampires for days, fresh tomato, parsley. It's a wonderful party in your mouth. My teen daughter is obsessed... she said "I would eat this over chic fil a". Well thats pretty surprising. Cash or credit here. Small mom and pop so no frills. The grocery store has fresh fetas, olive bar, fresh in house made baklava (traditional, pistachio, walnut).. that was amazing! NOT soggy and 2.50 per piece.. great layers of crunch on the top and not too sweet. I'd go back for a tray of those!! We will def be back! You should check this out too! Its across from Amy's Ice creamoff Barton on S.Lamar. Stand alone building with blue signage. Don't be scared... go take an adventure. Small parking lot.. maybe holds 6-8 cars max and easy in/out of Lamar.

Came here looking for a good pastrami sandwich and soup. The place was packed! And it was 2pm on a Thursday . I ordered a pastrami ( it's big so get it cut in half) and my mother ordered lentil soup. The soup was good and temperature wise it was hot . The pastrami sandwich had pickles lettuce a nice big tomato , cheese and pastrami. It's not a huge layered pastrami but a large filling one nonetheless. The baked goods looked yummy. Also one case was deli meats. Massive selection of Mediterranean foods. Really enjoyed this place , you can look here probably for hours at the spices, mixes. On the counter there was also fresh tangerines, apricots and very little apples( not familiar with it these tiny apples). Fresh bread rolls too. Just a warning the parking lot is very very small. people get very creative with parking. My car was blocked by a car and inside was a man and a woman eating their sandwiches and soup . Although I was faced forward to the drivers door , approx 1 foot from my hood , they ignored me and continued to eat. I ended up waiting 10 minutes for them to finish eating and leave. That's the only drawback is the small parking lot. Otherwise go check it out you'll have found your new favorite sandwich place.

Food is consistently great, good people working there, only good things to say. Try their salads and other food - it's good.

Nothing special. Had chicken shawarma. Dry chicken and bread. Garlic sauce was good. Price was cheap. Would not go back.

Love their pita bread and tabbouli. Especially love their mom and pop store and the fact that they've been here for decades!

The brisket, pastrami, and cheesesteak sandwiches are all incredible and packed with flavor. The latkes are also a must-order and make a perfect side. Just be sure to get there early, as some of the meats can sell out. If you're looking for something a little different from the traditional Texas BBQ experience, this place delivers.

OVERVIEW: I tried to pick up my online order from Mum Foods, but turns out someone stole my order…read more Bummer, but whatever - this is something that's usually an easy fix. We're human - shit happens, and mistakes are inevitable. But it's how people react that speaks volumes. **What surprised me was how unnecessarily rude the Mum employee was about it.** Orders are left on Mum's counter for DoorDash, Toast, Grubhub, and Seamless customers and delivery drivers to grab without a Mum employee checking order confirmation emails. If someone steals another customer's order, the *normal* response is to confirm I'm really the person who placed the order, then say "Oh sorry about that, looks like someone else took your order. We'll get you squared away with a replacement ASAP. In the meanwhile, could you please contact DoorDash to let them know?" ISSUE: Instead, the employee expediting orders was crazy defensive and rude about a situation that was no way my fault. TIMELINE: - I placed a pick up order via DoorDash at 12pm. I arrived at Mum's pickup area at 12:15pm. - When I tell the employee expediting orders my name, he says "Yeah, it was already picked up," and walks away. - When he returns, I explain I'm the person who placed the order, but I didn't pick it up. - The man says, "Like I SAID, it was already picked up," so I hold up the email on my phone, and say "I can prove I placed the order, but I don't have my food." - He replies, "Yeah, the order was sitting there for a long time. Someone already picked it up." - I tell him "I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this information. I paid for my order, but I don't have any food," and he tells me I need to contact DoorDash. - I tell him "I'll contact DoorDash, but they can only give me a refund. I'd like my food?" Only then does he tells the staff to get me a new order and tells me "LOOK, we're getting you your food." UPDATE: Mum Foods Management replied with a bizarre comment. Mum claimed I was 90 minutes late picking up my order, saying I picked up my order at 2pm. - So which is it? Someone stole my order OR was I too late picking it up? - Their rebuttal may explain why the employee felt justified in being so rude - he incorrectly thought I was late picking up my order. Either way, there's no reason to be rude. - I was NOT 90 minutes late (I have Ring footage of leaving my house at 12:10pm for Mum Foods and returning home at 12:37pm with my order in hand), but Mum's argument is moot either way. If I were hours late, the order should still be there for pick up because the business is supposed to check names. "A 1 star review really hurts a local business like us and I hope you reconsider" - If you don't want a 1 star review, respond with a sincere apology, and don't be rude to customers or lie in your response. "For what its worth we prepared your food twice and obviously lose money in a situation like that" - If you don't want to lose money by preparing an order twice, you should confirm names when people pick up orders.
