So, I paid $20for a sandwich that I couldn't even eat!! When I called the restaurant, the manager told me they ran out of olives and they wouldn't have any until Wednesday!! And that if I was looking for a free sandwich it wouldn't be until Wednesday. She was soo rude and offered no solution. I wanted to try something different and I was in the mood for a nice sandwich. I have never ordered from Schlotzsky before. I had no idea how to order. I looked at the menu and ordered a turkey sandwich. I had no concept on how large was their bread. I ordered a medium size. When it all was ready to pick up, the sandwich was huge. I shouldve gotten the first one. I also got one of their regular potato chips. The restaurant was clean and the workers were nice and friendly. I ate my sandwich in my car on the way back to work. I thought it was extremely large for a size medium sandwich. I guess for those who want a large sandwich, they will make it for you. But its nice that I can order smaller if I want. Our first time in, and boy was it worth it! Our sandwiches were so delicious, and the service was truly southern! Christine took our order and helped us today! She was so sweet and kind. She had to take the handmade raspberry lemonade tea away as they were getting ready to close, and she comes by every table to ask if anyone had gotten that drink. At first I was so worried thinking oh no did I just drink something that was bad? No! She wanted to ask so she could grab anyone a refill drink before they took away the lemonade! The person who took my order, w/f in her 20s was the most unfriendly service person I've met in a while. She could have cared less that I was there. Same with the person who gave me my order b/m in his 20s. When he gave me the order, he looked in another direction so as to disregard me. No smile, or thanks for coming in from either employee I'm not hoping for for anything out of the ordinary from customer service people, but this was well below ordinary. Just don't get it... can't muster up a smile or a friendly hello or something, anything that says thanks for coming in today. Food is always consistent. The bad things: customer service was severely lacking; the woman taking our order answered her phone and was texting while taking our order. How does a deli only have two kinds of bread? Their sourdough is NOT sourdough. I confronted her about it and she said she was making her own salad. She then changed gloves and proceeded to make my salad. I know that those dirty gloves were already inside that lettuce container so I asked to cancel my order. The truck in front of us took a really long time to order and got their food very quickly. We ordered only one small sandwich with turkey and guacamole. No sides or drinks. Our order took a really unusually long time to make. Employee seemed annoyed to be there. The paper bag looked like it had been kicked around and was kinda smashed. The sandwich smelled bad. The online menu is much more extensive than this location offers & you won't find out until you drive through, and after your card has been charged, that they cannot fill your order. My wife has celiac, so she must eat gluten free. We called Schlotzsky's in Temple to check on their process and spoke with Jeff. Even with the COVID situation this Schlotzsky's has a process for making a gluten free sandwich. When we got to the restaurant we asked to meet Jeff because he was so polite on the phone and wanted to thank him. I usually don't complain but this place has gone downhill. The girl at the register acted like she didn't want to take my order which she got wrong so they had to end up remaking one of my items. Their drink machines never work correctly and it looked like no one has stocked or cleaned recently. When I got home my sandwich I got had barely anything on it. Very disappointed. When you spend $45 for three sandwiches and drinks you would expect it to be worth your money. Hopefully they get it together because my family and I love eating here, but it will probably be a while before we come back. Not bad for a quick lunch, though I will warn you on something; a large sandwich is really large and isn't meant for just one person, at least not to be eaten all at once. I was surprised at the sheer size of it, almost the size of a medium sized pizza, cut into four. I had to take half of it home and give it to my kids because it was just too much, even for a man of my size. I love that they have access to the fancy coke machines with the varying flavors than can be added, though I have to say that an Orange flavored Coke Zero isn't exactly good, it is an option you can select and I always like to have options! I called in on 2/17/20 for delivery using the Waiter app. Approximately 1 1/2 hrs later I received my order. When I called the manager informed me that delivery person had not showed up. After he informed me he didn't know when that might happen, I had to tell him I didn't want soggy sandwiches that had been sitting around. I should not have to tell him that!
