Overpriced! There are so many other seafood restaurants close by that have better food in the same price range. I would only go back for a drink (nice patio) and a sandwich. But, unless you want a dried out piece of fish at about 25-30 bucks (all of our 4 meals were meh) I'd look for a meal elsewhere. read more

Well, I won't EVER be back. We sat at the bar for a drink while ordering two dinners to go and decided to also try the conch fritters which were disappointing and gummy. We had ordered yellow tail snapper Martinique (with a white oyster mushroom cream sauce) and sweet potato crab crusted dolphin medallion (over mixed greens and a fruit salsa and blackberry vinaigrette). All sounded absolutely delicious, mmm-mmm!! Welllll..... when we got back home and opened the boxes we both went, huh, what is this? Seriously? Pieces of bland looking fish slathered with a paste; not "crusted", no crab, not baked or broiled. We had to take the fish and put it under the broiler ourselves-talk about disappointing and the "fruit salsa" was just chunks of apple. The "blackberry vinaigrette was a plain sweet white dressing similar to something you could buy at a store. I thought it would have been well, like a blackberry color . . . Maybe we ordered the wrong stuff but if they are going to advertise something as yummy sounding as these items, then put forth the effort. read more

Went here with my girlfriend a few nights ago. It was SO good. The conch was heavenly, the ceasar salad devine, and veggies perfect! But the best part was the cottage cheese! I don't know what it is about the Schooner's Cottage Cheese but I was so good, we ordered a second helping. Looking forward to going again. Loved it! Nice outside area which was comfortable and casual. Food was very good. I had beef kabobs and scallops. Husband had a seafood casserole which he said was awesome & very rich. My sister liked it too but dont remember what ahe had. Service was very good even when we showed up fairly late. Prices are good. We will go back when visiting Jupiter! read more

We've been going here for years, this time our meals were very disappointing. Soup was blah and we both had fish, mine was supposed to be topped with crab. I had two pieces of fish and only one had crab crust on two thirds of it. Dry and dull. My spouses fish had a flavorless congealed sauce on his fish. We probably won't go back. read more

Horrible!! We visited and tried the fried dolphin fingers and coconut shrimp, and it was horrible. First off, the waitress could not answer any question we asked. She seemed to be completely unfamiliar with the menu. The dolphin was not seasoned at all. It came with a side of butternut squash that was just boiled, no seasoning, nothing. The fries were also not seasoned at all, shocking. We got a tropical drink (blue marlin I think) that tasted like there was absolutely no alcohol and was hard to get down and the other drinks we got were the same. Honestly, I wish I would have went to any other place in this area because there are so many options within a few miles that are awesome, and this isn't one of them. read more

This place on a Saturday is very busy and the hosts are not the most organized. We waited to be seated for an hour and others who arrived after our group were seated before we were. The owners should expand the indoor dining area because it is very small. The seafood dishes were average and the service needs improvement. read more

I have been enjoying this restaurant for twenty five years. It was absolutely great for the first twenty but has become spotty in the last five. Tonight was the final straw. I know It is season and waits are expected. We arrived at seven with a three year old and was told a 30 minute wait. We were fine with that, after one hour we inquired about our table as other large tables had been turned over and newer arrivals were seated. At nine we were finally seated and the appetizers that we ordered from the bar were delivered at our table after a longer wait. We saw no one for at I least ten minutes. Finally a bus boy arrived and we begged for water and rolls. He said he would get someone over right away but another ten minutes before a wait person showed up. Needless to say , we were impatient. The only savings grace was that it was ago server that had served us MANY times before and put our order in immediately since we had over two hours to make our selections. I totally blame the hostess who was totally ineffective and the night managers who was made aware of our situation. Schooners, you better get your act together or you will be history. Every year there are more choices to pick from and you are less crowded every year. New places are opening at a record pace and you cannot continue this way, I loved the old Schooners and hope you can recover. Can you????? read more

Go late or not at all. My party of three was told there would be a 35 minute wait, so we took a seat right by the hostess stand. After 40 minutes we noticed new comers being seated, and inquired about our table. The hostess said she had called our name and we didn't respond. Really?? We were sitting right there. Always enjoy Schooners. Ate out on the patio at a high-top with 1/2 price wines. Seafood dishes are spot-on and usually there's a special for the non-fishy husband. Today I had the "Sunday Plate" which consisted of sweet potato-yucca crusted yellowtail snapper with Panko-crusted shrimp. Excellent. He had Cuban citrus- marinated turkey breast. Delicious. Always go to Schooner's when visiting our friends in Florida and it never disappoints. Most recently, I had the fish stew for dinner and it was excellent! Carrot cake for dessert was delicious also. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

On the advice of locals we tried this restaurant. We were happy with the casual environment and the outside bar/deck looked like a great meeting place for friends. The service was great, everyone was friendly and the food was ok. My husband got the swordfish and loved it. He said it was so fresh and really enjoyed it. He also ordered the New England clam chowder, and being from New England we have had better, this was ok but far from really good. My daughter had the blackened yellowtail snapper and I ordered the broiled hog snapper, both dishes were simply tasteless. Now I understand these are very mild tasting fish but to taste nothing was disappointing. Sides offered were a starch and a vegetable. Rice pilaf was good. Salads are not an option unless you order them as your main dish. We also ordered the conch bites for an appetizer which were delicious. Overall it was ok, I probably would order something different if I had to be there again. read more

we stopped there with a group of other motorcycle riders for lunch. there was nothing special about the building itself. the waitress we had was very friendly however and completed all our orders on time and correctly and constantly checked the meal through the process. the food was ok, average fare. their menu had some stuff on it that you probably would not see at most other seafood places, but the food was just average. i would probably try another place instead of going back here. read more

The grouper was superb as well as the scallops. The 1/2 pound of peel and eat shrimp was excellent. And the key lime pie was the best I have ever had. You have to try it. Service was very good also. read more

Went to Schooners with my 2 young boys for a quick lunch. Our server Gina was an absolute doll. Eating with very young kids can be stressful and she was very accomodating and quick with our food. Kids both ate pizza and it appeared to be homeade. I ordered the lobster roll and it was out of this world. Tons of lobster and a roll that was prepared like Texas toast. Yum yum yum. From the adorable red-haired hostess to Gina to the busboy, the Schooners team rocks. Atmosphere is tropical, great place to go with kids as the prices are reasonable. read more

The service is great, but the food is ok. I'd rather it be the other way around. I don't think anyone goes to a restaurant just for the great service. I had coconut shrimp which was good but the rice and beans were HORRIBLE. The fish is good and fresh. Their appetizers are also good. Overall ok. The ambiance is not all that great considering that guanabanas is literally right across the street and is known for their ambiance and atmosphere. Overall ok. Went there with six others after being turned away at the Guanabana's across the street. Was very pleasantly surprised at the attentive service and tasty dishes. STAY AWAY FROM 'THE PLATE OF THE DAY'!!! My husband had it for lunch, and an hour and a half later he was sick in bed until the next morning with food poisoning! I'm sure the 'special' is that it's old fish! To add to that....I ordered the salad with the 'Crabmeat blend' which the waitress described as 'like a crabmeat salad mixed with some mayonnaise'. That was a lie! It was that fake 'crabmeat' which is not even crabmeat! The 'lobster fritters' had no lobster! Our advice is to stay away from this place!! There are much better restaurants in the area that offer much better quality food. Schooner's doesn't even deserve one star!!!!! read more
