Will NOT return! Had our vehicle serviced earlier this week and while waiting in the reception area, I could hear the owner/shop manager berating one of the employees. He was screaming and yelling so loudly that everyone could hear, and I can only assume it was in front of all the repair technicians out in the shop also. It was extremely unprofessional! I felt absolutely horrible for the poor employee that was on the receiving end of his wrath. It made me so uncomfortable and I could tell the other employees were embarrassed as well. This business proudly displays a Christian symbol on their signage, and this behavior was not only unprofessional, but very un-Christian like. I went to this shop for an alignment and was told there was too much damage to my front end to align it and proceeded to provide me with a list of things they would need to fix before they could perform the alignment. Went to another place the next day and they aligned it with no problems. When asked how the front end looked, they said it looked good. read more

I took my SUV for service due to a Check Engine light being on. Jim's shop made it so easy because of having loaner vehicles available to their customers. The gal at the front desk was very attentive and got me in & out quickly with the loaner. She knew I was in a rush to get to work. She was great! I was kept up to date on my vehicle with emails and text messages which I thought was pretty awesome! After diagnosing the issue on my SUV, I was so appreciative that his mechanic took the time to thoroughly explain the situation at hand. Love this place. They have such a high level of integrity and honesty. They will always let me know if something is truly necessary, or (get this because it's rare) not worth repairing or can wait for later. These guys are amazing. If I make an appointment, they are ready when I get there, and my car is done when promised. The prices are fair, and the quality of work is outstanding. Update: A year ago I had my air conditioner looked at. They suggested several expensive repairs. I decided to hold off. When they put the windshield wipers back on after investigating, they put them on backwards. Meaning driver side on the passenger and such. I discovered the problem 2 weeks later when it rained and I couldn't drive to work. A friend had to fix it so I could work the next day. I had it checked at another garage. Turns out my a/c was fine. It was the thermostat that was the problem. Not thrilled with the service. The above review was written with a promise of movie tickets, this one is honest. My grandmother had similar problems with expensive repairs suggested and later learning they weren't necessary. Disappointing and I decided to switch my loyalty to another shop. read more

From when I called to make an appointment to me driving away after service was completed, the entire experience was extremely pleasant and, if can you believe it, actually enjoyable. I would never think I would say those things about an auto repair shop, but Schorie Auto Repair definitely has earned my business. After being told I would need around $800 worth of "repairs" (however necessary they were deemed to be) from the dealership, I decided that I should probably get a second opinion. Boy am I glad I did. Schorie Auto Repair was honest and upfront about everything, and I actually only needed half the repairs the dealer said I did. It was so refreshing to hear that information and that I wasn't being taken advantage of. They explained all the repairs that I needed in great detail and then also explained why I didn't need the other repairs the dealer had mentioned. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable. Took two cars for service. Yesterday afternoon.I Found it to be quick and thorough for everything except tires. They have the best priced oil changes in the valley. Full service operation. Great people. Asked them to check tire pressure on first car. Got what I asked for. Forgot to ask for second car. Got nothing other than oil change. I take the blame, didn't ask. I first chose to try Schorie's due to good reviews by folks in my neighborhood, and used them first when I needed to have my car towed after it would not start with AAA service assistance. Schorie's did diagnostic work and found that my computer module had failed. My car is a '94 Honda and they don't make the computer anymore, so Schorie's agreed to do a search for reconditioned replacements. I was relieved when they found one within a couple of days. That was in May 2019, and I needed them next just 2 weeks ago. This time they replaced a brake switch and my failing battery. They have also given me info on future work that they recommend. Their shuttle service has been very helpful for me and the owners and their staff have always been helpful in explaining work done or recommended and courteous in our discussions. Took vehicle to Ford dealership due to "engine light on"... was told $1800 for a cracked manifold. Went to Good Works for a second opinion(saw good reviews online)... the owner came out to my vehicle for a few minutes and jumped into the engine and started feeling around.... told me it might just be a hose. I asked for the worse case price... was told about $1300.... I dropped it off a few days later.... it turned out to be a hose.. total $150!!!! They asked me about 2 other pieces that needed to be replaced(which i had been told before from Ford that they needed to be replaced), ..so i replaced them for a total bill of $750... Don't know if Ford would have told me it was just a hose or not, but what sold me was the fact that someone walked out to my car to look at it at Good Works.... Ford had it IN the shop for an oil change, hooked it up to the ALL KNOWING COMPUTER, but couldnt look at it with their own eyes...otherwise, i might have let Ford fix it. 2 weeks later... everything is fine. I am happy with the overall service and WILL go back as long as they stay honest with me. read more

Today was my first and last visit to Schorie Auto Repair. I went in with a coupon for a synthetic oil change for $43. When I returned for my car the bill was over $90. They said the coupon was for 5 quarts and my vehicle holds 8. Understandable to charge extra, but more than double seems excessive. It would have also been considerate to recieve a phone call letting me know of the extra charge prior to the service. After I complained, the price was lowered to $68. I will be taking my car back to APR in Gilbert where they charge much less without a coupon. read more

My daughter has used Schorie 3 times with the last time having her father take her car in for an oil change. Twice the car has come back with a list of things that need to be addressed complete with estimates and pictures. The bill for the oil change with a discount came to $76.29. When I got my hands on the estimates and the oil change bill, I was furious. My husband is a car guy and he looked at the paper work noting that for whatever reason, an additive was done for $47.50. This wasn't needed and on further research we found that this additive could be purchased at a car shop for $9 plus they charged her $13.00 labor to pour it into the car! I took her car for a 2nd opinion on the estimates and found out the leaks they said she had, weren't there. The battery they've wanted to replace twice had a warranty on it from AAA so why would she buy one from Schorie? The voltage wasn't great, but when it dies, she calls AAA since she has a year left on the warranty. There's more but this is long enough. I told her father NOT to take the car to this place again and he did. I only hope he paid the bill since she was screwed. It really makes me mad when a young lady brings her car to a shop she thought she could trust, tries to fix things that aren't necessary and add things to the oil which isn't necessary either. read more

Schorie Auto Repair, my daughter has taken here car in for basic maintenance without issue. Then one day she has a significant problem. This auto shop tells her (she is 22 and very naive) $1,300 (and change) to fix her bad distributor. They say the OEM part is like $1000 to replace and they will do the labor for $100 or so. That seemed odd to me. I was very concerned on the cost of the part. Seemed to me it was way overpriced. Thus, on my daughters behalf I called around for the cost of the needed part. I found three (3) part stores all telling me the same thing; lifetime guaranteed part for less then $150. So why is Schorie charging $1000? Rip off! Over a few days and some email contact with my lovely ex-wife...suddenly Schorie is willing to do the whole job for $570. Imagine that, half price and then some! How is that this automotive scammer is able to go from $1300 down to $570? This is a classic example of not jumping at the first quote an automotive repair company tells you. If I or my ex would not have gotten involved, my daughter would have had her bank account cleaned out. So what does that tell you about the owner and the operations of Schorie? BEWARE of Schorie, if they can get away with doubling the price because you don't know any better, you may be in for a wild ride. read more

Awful experience, dishonest, my car had a small oil leak, they replaced the timing belt, valve cover gaskets, coolant flush, I had to keep going back because oil was pouring out of my car, then a few days later the coolant was leaking, it is 110 degrees here and my car is leaking oil and coolant. My car was better before I went there. The owner said none of it was their fault but another problem, and he would call me the next morning to see about fixing it (he never called) he also said I could come in every 3 weeks and they would check the oil. Terrible mechanics, dishonest owner. I dislike when companies advertise that they are a christian owned company and they are dishonest and do shady work! read more

I have used Schorie (formerly Good Works Auto Repair) for about five years and love their service. Schorie has never pressured us into services they didn't think we need, unlike many other repair shops. One time I had a problem with my car overheating and took it in and they couldn't replicate the problem. They kept the car for a couple days running a bunch of tests and still couldn't replicate it. It was fine after that (they explained maybe the tests reset the computer) but did not charge anything besides the initial diagnostic.
