    The squeaky-clean interior of Schott's!

Schott's was one of the most highly recommended meat markets on the 'San Antonio Foodies' FB page, and I agree it is excellent. Easy parking, fast and friendly service, and a primary focus on beef. However there are some pork and chicken products such as shoulders and packs of wings. They also have a few specialty items such as tomahawk steaks!

Fantastic meat market. Very clean store and friendly staff. We buy their spice mixes for homemade sausage. The pan, fresh, and dried are fantastic recipes. They sell it in portions based on how much you want to make. They also sell casings that are on plastic tubes which are very easy to use.

    Fresh ground beef

Love this place. I'm here twice a week. The meats are awesome, the sausage is the best, the steaks are awesome. Service is always the best. Ground beef is actually ground beef, no mystery meat. Super bright red and freshly ground and rotated. You can't beat this place.

The fam and I went out on a little adventure to get snacks and check out a new place, and I gotta say it was a good experience all in all they had something for all of us we got jerky really good, and some brisket bombs pretty good, we also got sausages that I enjoyed the hell out of and the pin wheels are the bomb. But alas there was some not so good stuff the pickled quail eggs not for this fella, and sadly had a dislike for there meat log but for one reason only ,the hole pepper corn outside of that it had really good flavor I just dug out the pepper corns. We will be going back as I plan to try some other stuff like there steak they all looked really good. So if you are out there way stop in and grab some jerky or a steak either way support our locals as these folks got some good stuff to offer.

Amazing quality!! We like steak medium rare and it just so happened that the meat thermometer I've had for years decided to break so the steaks got a little over cooked for our liking. My fiancé was super annoyed at himself because of how expensive these steaks are. After letting them sit in tin foil for a little bit they actually came out perfect! We definitely wish the steak would of been a little bit more rare but even on the pieces where it was super over-cooked the flavor was incredible. We weren't crazy about the twice baked potatoes but they are great if you're in a hurry to cook dinner and don't have time to make your own. I definitely recommend trying this place. So good!

This place is refreshing to say the least and I'm not just referring to how fresh their meats are. The variety, seasonings, even down to the packaging is on point. It has a small old hometown butcher shop feel with the friendly staff to boot. The best part is that it's affordable considering the quality. I've visited two locations, the one on Bandera and the one on Culebra (far west) and don't have a preference because they're both great. I will note one purchase we made that we were blown away by and have repurchased since is this pork & alligator sausage brand that I've only seen there. Brand is "Alligator's sausage co. It's Alligator and pork sausage-jalapeno cheddar" it's not too spicy or any of what you'd expect with those ingredients. I took some to my folks down on the border and now they're requesting I bring more next time we head down there to visit again.

We had breakfast tacos, waffles, coffee, and a few other breakfast items, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was especially good. What surprised me most was how much more this place is than a restaurant. The historic home, museum rooms, gift shop, bakery counter, and beautifully maintained grounds make it feel like a destination rather than just a place to grab breakfast. The atmosphere reminded me of visiting a family home that has been lovingly preserved for generations. There is so much history throughout the property, yet it still feels warm and welcoming instead of formal. I was also impressed by the gift shop. It's packed with Pioneer products, baking mixes, Texas-made goods, and unique souvenirs. The bakery case alone is worth checking out because the desserts are enormous and looked amazing. We happened to visit on a rainy morning, so there was no wait. After seeing the property and experiencing the food, I completely understand why people are willing to line up on busy days. If you're visiting San Antonio, I would recommend giving yourself extra time here. Come for breakfast, stay to explore the house, browse the gift shop, and walk the grounds. It's a place that feels uniquely Texan and unlike anywhere else I've visited.

Be prepared for a wait since seating is first-come, first-served and the restaurant gets quite busy. Fortunately, the wait didn't feel long at all because we were able to explore the surrounding historic neighborhood while waiting for our table. Once seated, there was a bit of a wait for the food ( hence 4 stars), but it was well worth it. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Our server, Martin, was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. The house coffee was a standout. It had a unique blend of spices that gave it a rich, flavorful taste unlike a regular cup of coffee. For food, we ordered the sweet waffle, and it was rich and buttery. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and equally delicious. The biscuits were soft, buttery, and flaky, while the gravy was flavorful. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

IMMACULATE. My grandma and sister picked up my girlfriend and I from the airport and pulled up here…read moreright after on 4th July weekend. We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.
