We ultimately decided to have a gem stone that my father-in-law gave me set into a ring! We picked up my ring today and let me tell you what, Paolo was NOT lying!! My new ring is GORGEOUS! The basket is completely hand made by his fabricator and we had it soldered onto a ring that I found at the store from Paolo's estate ring collection. They turned a cocktail ring into a pendant, using the shank to make a loop, and, even gave me the little piece of gold they didn't use. They also replaced a broken clasp on a chain with a much stronger one, and, offered me gold-filled instead of 14K to keep the price down, since it won't ever affect how well it works. I'm not looking to buy new pieces, but, if you are -- they have really nice displays of traditional styles, as well as some watches.
