I love daughter's deli and each time I go it further solidifies as one of my favorite spots just in West Hollywood but in LA. I get the same thing nearly every single time which is the turkey papa and it's just .... Perfect. I've tried a few other things but that's the tried and true. I love their sides, specifically the potato salad & cucumber salad. a little spendy but big sandwiches, I always eat half to enjoy the other half later. Service is always kind & the location is small but a nice patio to eat on. I love daughters deli. read more

For those of you who don't dare venture to MacArthur Park for the best Jewish deli, Daughter's Deli is a fine substitute. The thick-cut pastrami was heavenly, and from my first bite of the Papa, it brought me back to the first time I had the #19 at Langer's. The Papa ($27) is jam-packed with thick-cut pastrami, Swiss cheese, and coleslaw on double-baked rye bread. I attempted to recreate the influencer aesthetic by photographing the Papa sandwich with both halves together, but failed because it was too oily from the pastrami. While the pastrami itself was good, it was dripping with oil, almost as if it had been soaked in broth. The texture on the crust of the Rye was more toasted than double baked. I must say as much as I enjoyed the crunch from the crust of the Rye. I prefer Langer's over Daughter's Deli. The ordering process is a bit different here - you order at the register and pay upfront, which isn't the usual Jewish deli experience. I wanted to try the potato salad, macaroni salad, and coleslaw, and was happy to pay extra for them, but Adrian was incredibly kind and gave me a sample of each without charge. I really appreciate that! I had this place bookmarked for a while and was happy to finally try it, but it was a bit underwhelming compared to my favorite Jewish deli. I wouldn't be in a rush to return, but the wife loved the thick-cut pastrami, so maybe we'll be back. read more

In a nutshell: the $30+ pastrami sandwich is what you want to get here. It's good. It is pretty good. I'd like to compare it to Langer's pastrami, but I find it difficult to do so objectively without a blindfolded, back-to-back tasting -- which I haven't had the chance to do yet. Now comes the TL;DR warning: family story and drama. Trisha Langer is the only daughter of Norm Langer, the current owner of the legendary Langer's Deli and the son of Al Langer, who started the family business back in 1947. "The hot pastrami sandwich served at Langer's Delicatessen in downtown Los Angeles is the finest hot pastrami sandwich in the world." -- The New Yorker, 2002 Trisha started her own Jewish deli after working at Langer's for about 14 years. While she wanted to uphold the family legacy and maintain the quality standards, she also wanted to create her own version of what the Langer family business could be. Norm, the father and the current owner, made the following statement on Langer's official website back in 2018 when Daughter's Deli opened: "I am very proud that Trisha is following in the footsteps of my parents Al and Jean by opening her restaurant with her husband. While Daughter's Deli has no connection to Langer's Deli, I am sure that everyone will love it. Like our humble beginnings as a 12-seat deli over 71 years ago to the thriving operation Langer's Delicatessen-Restaurant is today, I am excited to watch Daughter's Deli become another American success story." Wife and I have been fans of Langers and Nate & Al's pastrami sandwich for years now. I had no idea this place existed until I saw it on social media. I haven't been to other restaurants in several months due to life, but I don't remember paying so much for a sandwich. 2 sandwiches, 2 sodas and fries + tip was $81. The food was absolutely delicious and portions are large but just seems pricy for a sandwich. The parking lot is extremely small and can kind of be a nightmare to get to depending on when you go. They are moving soon, hopefully the new parking situation will improve. I think I'd go back to Nat & Al's or Langers first before coming back here. read more

You know it's going to be good when you walk in and see a bunch of old men just hanging out inside. Seating is very limited--maybe three tables and a counter by the window--so most of the action is outside. Everything I've tried here has been solid. Yes, it's pricey, but the quality makes up for it. The pastrami is the star: tender, melty, and worth the splurge. Corned beef is good too, though not quite as tender. The matzo ball soup hits the spot, and you can get it with chicken and egg noodles (the way I like it). Honestly, you could split a sandwich and a bowl of soup between two people and leave perfectly full. They've got Dr. Brown's sodas too--Root Beer and Black Cherry--which is a nice touch. The food at Canter's isn't on this level, but Canter's has the history and atmosphere that keeps it worth visiting. Here, it's all about the quality of the food. Sitting outside, people-watching the Beverly Hills crowd trying to impress each other, is its own kind of entertainment. read more

Came here the other day and had the Papa Pastrami Sandwich and Chili Cheese Fries. Thick cut Pastrami that is juicy and melts like butter when it touches your tongue. Rye bread isn't too sharp. Coleslaw and Russian dressing isn't too sweet and too sour and overpowering. It is just perfect. It is very delicate. It isn't too tart. chili cheese fries was delicious. It's greasy, but not too greasy potato salad was just OK for me. But other than that great customer service and a nice outdoor patio to have lunch outside. It has a parking lot right off Sunset Boulevard. If you're in the area, I would definitely come back again. read more

Papa sandwich is delicious and worth the high cost!! Big enough for two people to share, unless you're starving. The sandwich is perfect, comes with a side and a pickle. Plenty of seats, indoors and outdoors. They have parking lot but it's small and shared with other stores on the lot. read more

We saw this place listed as having one of the best sandwiches in LA so we had to see for ourselves! They have a small parking lot out front which is super convenient, especially given its prime location on Sunset. We ordered the Papa sandwich, a hot pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and russian dressing. We split the sandwich but if I was hungry enough I could eat the whole thing. Not cheap at $26. It comes with a small side, we got cucumber salad. The sandwich was good, we loved the thick pieces of high quality pastrami. Overall tasty meal. I've had better though, but it was probably in NY. So maybe the best LA pastrami sandwich. I added a pretty generous amount of dijon mustard to it. But can we talk about the bread? We ate the sandwich instantly, right out front at the picnic tables, and very quickly, the bread got soggy. My last bite, the bread was barely holding on. I can't even imagine what it would be like if we ordered for takeout and waited to eat it when we got home. I feel like they need to figure that out, but the pastrami itself was delicious. They are at a temporary location down in Little Ethiopia ( South Fairfax) in a store front where you make and pick up your orders from outside the store. I rang a bell and someone asked me if I was picking up and I said I had not ordered yet. Someone soon came to take my order. They were very pleasant. I knew I wanted to try the pastrami sandwich with deli mustard and their double baked rye bread. I also wanted to get a slice of plain cheesecake. Order took about 10 minutes or so and then I paid. It was on the expensive side and I don't do that too often. It was well worth it. I pretty much made 2 meals out of the food I got. It was so good from the pastrami, deli mustard, double baked bread and to end with some New York Style Cheesecake. I'm a very happy customer. read more

Popped in to this spot as it's been on my list for a while! We really enjoyed the sandwich as the meat was incredibly tender. It's thicker cut pastrami so you definitely feel satisfied and could even share half with someone. My favorite part of the sandwich was actually the bread! We called in our order while we were shopping, pulled up and our order was ready. I know a good corned beef sandwich when I taste one, and this was it! We stopped by Daughter's Deli on Thursday afternoon and really enjoyed our visit. The Papa Pastrami sandwich was excellent--flavorful and generously portioned. I personally prefer a lighter sauce, so we asked for light Russian dressing, which was perfect. The portion size is great and definitely easy to share. I also loved the side cucumber vinaigrette salad--it was fresh, light, and delicious. We tried the chicken schnitzel sandwich as well, which was crispy, flavorful, and very satisfying. The only downside is the parking situation. There are just a couple of spots, so you'll most likely need to find street parking. The inside is small, but they make up for it with plenty of outdoor seating. You order inside at the counter and they bring it out to you. Prices are fair for the quality and portion sizes. Honestly, you're getting something comparable (if not better) than Langer's, with a better location and vibe. Can't wait to come back! read more

Potato latkes were very good but I would say the portion was light. , 3 small. Cornedbeef sandwich was disappointing the corn beef was dry and the portion was small considering prices and typical Jewish deli sandwiches. Also had the pastrami sky high now the pastrami is excellent about as good as I've had. I usually go to lanners and I would say this is as good but a bit different not as much bark but incredibly juicy and tender. Also light on meat but worth a try. read more

I accompanied my daughter to her doctors appointment at Cedars Sinai and thought it would be nice to finally try Langers. But it was too far. So after looking at Yelp reviews decided to try Daughters Deli. Parking was a bit tough but well worth circling the block. We had the pastrami sandwich that had slaw on it. Unfortunately I can't remember the name but Will never forget the taste. Full of meat! Could only eat half. To me this is the #3 ranked Pastrami sandwich in the country. Premium quality, hand sliced, perfectly seasoned pastrami on rye bread with mustard and cole slaw. Arrive before 11:30 AM or after the lunch crowd. There is some street parking available. Nice outdoor seating area. I highly recommend Daughter's Deli. read more

The pastrami sandwich is the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. I get it with sourdough instead of the rye bread. Tonsssss of pastrami. The chicken sandwich is also really good here. Each sandwich comes with your choice of pasta salad, potato salad or a third option I can't remember right now. I've tried both the pasta and potato salads, they're just ok I always feel like id like to add some salt and paper to it. Order also comes with a pickle spear in a cute little zip lock bag. Plenty of parking in their every time I've been here. Good amount of tables for outdoor dining. They do take awhile to make the sandwiches for some reason so I always like to call in and order ahead so I can just pick up my order. read more

Amazing Pastrami! I can't wait to go back, even though it's a long drive away! Related to Langer's, and in my book, Langer's is the gold standard for Pastrami. Served on the same double baked rye bread! If you haven't had Langer's and now Daughter's, please know what you are missing. Very lean and meaty (vs gristley) Pastrami on bread with the most awesome crunchy crust! Small place with a few tables inside. Very nice outdoor patio with lots of tables. You order at the counter, and then they serve you at your table. Lots of people coming and going for take out. Decent size parking lot (on Sunset Blvd very few places have parking). Service was great and I didn't wait very long for my sandwich to come out from the kitchen. $24 may seem a lot for a sandwich with a side, but high quality lean meat and special in house made bread, well worth it. So much so went twice in less than three days!! Been wanting to come here for quite a while since it started flooding my social media channels. Taking the long trek from OC we had high expectations and it didn't disappoint. Ordered: The papa - pastrami was absolutely perfect while the rye bread was the best we've ever had (been to Katz deli and a bunch of other delis) hands down! All the ingredients stood on their own, launching their own flavor profiles at just the right time during the chew. Awesome sandwich...so awesome I feel calling it just a sandwich doesn't do it justice. Bagel with cream cheese and bacon for the kiddos. Well done bagel. It was really good. Caesar Salad was really good too. You can tell by the anchovies forward dressing it was made with fresh ingredients. Wow! I don't know what magic they put in their "Papa" pastrami sandwich, but it's one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had... other than the OG from Langer's deli in midtown (which is owned by the same family). The rye bread with its crispy crust comes from double-baking it. They re-heat the bread and then cut it when making the sandwich so it's warm on the inside. Combine that with the coleslaw, the thinly sliced Swiss and delicious pastrami inside... It's absolutely perfect. Even the potato salad is excellent. And the fresh pickle. A must try if you're at Sunset Plaza. Fast service and they have a lovely outside covered patio for dining in; great on sunny days. The takeout sandwich is beautifully wrapped in white paper and when you open it up, it looks absolutely flawless. You can see from the photos. read more

The Papa sandwich at Daughter's Deli looked deceptively small on the plate, but nope, not small at all! Flavorful, high-quality pastrami, and excellent rye bread. I was debating whether I should get a more simple sandwich with just pastrami, cheese, and mustard, but this one was a good call. The crunchy slaw and the Russian dressing were a good counterbalance to the saltiness of the pastrami. I think this is probably slightly better than Langer's... and I like Langer's slightly more than Katz's Deli in NYC. Yeah, I said it! The sandwich came with a small side (I chose mac salad). The mac salad tasted as expected - nothing out of the ordinary. It also came with a pickle. I'm not a big fan of pickles, but I did give this one a try. It tasted like a pickle. Also ordered a side of fries - again, good, but nothing special. This place is very nice and clean, with both indoor and outdoor seating. There is a small parking lot out front, and I was lucky to snag a spot when I got there on a Saturday just before 1PM. This place is on the Sunset Strip, so if the parking lot is full... well, good luck to ya. They were fairly busy, with plenty of people dining in. Also quite a few people coming in just to pick up orders. It looked to be an even mix of both locals and tourists. The staff were friendly and quick. Pricing is a little steep - my sandwich, fries, and a lemonade came out to just a few cents under $40 after tax and before tip. Pretty good experience overall, but I can't afford to eat here too often, haha. read more

The real deal! Langer's DNA is in the house at daughter Trisha's Sunset Strip outpost. An overstuffed bagel sandwich with whitefish salad--the freshest I've ever had--was enough for two meals. Took a chance on the broccoli and cheddar cheese soup, not typical deli fare, but a winner at Daughter's. And if you're a Brown's Diet Back Cherry fan, they got 'em! Daughter's just doesn't miss. The Noi is our hold house favorite, and the matzoh ball soup always comes through when feeling under the weather. If you're a sweets person don't sleep on the carrot cake - it's AMAZING. Yes Daughter's is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Life is short - eat good food. :) read more

We love finding local places to eat when we travel. We search the internet and use social media to find unique places... this was not it. There was no seating, or even outdoor seating, there was no access to a restroom. The person (server?) at the door was beyond rude. He was annoyed that we didn't walk up knowing exactly what we wanted to order. He was upset that I asked for a side salad and then literally told my husband "I don't even understand what you people want with your order." My request of "please no mustard on my sandwich" was entirely ignored and fully slathered with mustard, so I can't even comment on the quality of the food. read more
