Everything looks delicious and the presentation is great but as soon as you take a bite you taste nothing. I honestly was amazed to see how busy this place is after tasting the food. Its honestly like that one episode of spongebob where the burgers are made out of grey goop but look very presentable. I've never even written a yelp review before, I'm 21 and think this app is for boomers but this food was so bad I had to do it to them. Cute find in Berkeley! Had to wait for my BF while he dealt with Honda next door so I waited at this Cafe. Boy, am I glad I did! Started out with a Blueberry Muffin and a giant glass of real cold Ice Tea. I was surprised at how good the muffin tasted! And you could tell that they actually brewed the tea. My BF finally came back and he wanted to go somewhere else for lunch. THE SCONES! I didn't have them here. I bought them at Whole Foods. Raspberry. Two bags of them. 4 scones in each. $6 a bag. They were so good. I honestly can't stop thinking about them. I'd get them all the time if they had an outpost in Toronto. Before Sconehenge, I thought scones were dry and bland and sad. These were like a crossbreed between a muffin and a biscuit. Not dry, not hard, and distinctly buttery. My own gripe is I wish there was a tad bit more fruit. I also wish I had more flavors, but there are only so many scones one can eat on a one week vacation. I've been on a scone kick lately, so stopping into Sconehenge for breakfast and pastries was absolutely necessary. We had a blueberry-pear scone an apple turnover, mimosa and coffees, the Louisiana sausage breakfast and French toast with berries and bacon. The scone was light, had a tender crumb and the perfect level of sweetness and the turnover was fresh, buttery and flaky. Both breakfast dishes were delicious and my mimosa was nice and generous. I am not a breakfast menu person, as I would rather prefer a lunch menu, especially at 12:30pm. But this day, I decided i wanted to eat a breakfast plate. I had the two eggs with ham steak, with a blueberry scone. The scone was tasty. Buttery, flaky, and with the strawberry jam, even better. My dish was OK. Very solid diner food. Kinda meh scones though. I had the huevos revueltas breakfast which was chilis fried up with cheese and tortillas strips with eggs, rice, and tortillas. It's a strong start to your day and I most recently concluded a near-all-nighter writing a paper at their table. Bakery and cafe is a stretch - this place is more of a diner than anything. Dirty floors, old booths and pancakes are what to expect here. It was pretty packed when I came on a Friday morning, but mostly an older crowd. The omelet came with ok hashbrowns and their own cafe-made english muffin. My buddy had a breakfast burrito that could have been bigger because he had to order the french toast special of the day. I understand it's COVID but the steel oats I had this morning were very watery. I took it to go, didn't realize how watery it was until I got home otherwise I would've taken it back. It was so bad. Whoever made it perhaps wasn't the regular oatmeal person. Maybe they were short staff, I don't know. The service was great, the people were nice but the steel oats today were not good. OK, something is up here. I have been coming to Stonehenge for over 20 years and always enjoyed choosing between great Mexican food or American diner. Yesterday, a cold January morning, I took a friend and we had the worst meal ever. Literally cold food on a paper plate. I had the breakfast burrito which was a scrambled egg, a tiny slice of anaheim chile and about a teaspoon of cheese. No rice, no beans, just a barely warm tortilla half filled with egg. Looked like a snack I'd make myself when I'm out of groceries. My friend had the Mexican Breakfast and asked for tofu instead of eggs, which they gladly provided. Too bad the rest of that meal was again, cold, congealed beans and lukewarm rice. On a paper plate. She sent it back and the waitress said she'd replace it, then came out with another paper plate of lukewarm rice and beans. Sent back again, came out again, this time on a china plate. Which was ice cold and had sucked the warmth out of the food. She ate it anyway. I paid the tab because I felt so bad for having invited my friend. $27. Not going back. read more

This review has been a long time coming..We love their scones and were so happy to discover they have a cafe and bakery. So on a VERY RAINY Saturday morning around 11am on our way to purchase Oakland A's tickets we stopped for breakfast. What a wonderful surprise! We were greeted when we came in, the place was busy so we decided to take 2 seats at the counter. We were greeted at the counter and asked if we would like juice or coffee while we were deciding. The prices were more than reasonable especially considering the amount of food served. I honestly can't think of one bad thing to say about Sconehenge. Plus a very nice young woman stood and talked with us giving us the history and how Sconehenge got it's start. read more

I encountered this place about 8 years ago while I was living in the area. My family and I were looking for a mexican-style breakfast, so as normal back then, we asked around to see if anyone knew of a place that served Huevos revueltos, with coffee and a piece of bread. And this was the place everyone suggested. My family and I went to try it that weekend and I just loved it. All of the servers were super nice and tentative, very, very mexican style. It has been my favorite place since then. The food quality is super good. Everything is fresh and nicely prepared plus the rations are satisfactory. They even sell their scones all through the area and even eating them home taste just as fresh as if you were eating them at the place. Very, very highly recommended! read more

The food is good, and the pick-up service is also fairly good. BEWARE, however, that the suggested gratuity is computed on a basis that includes the sales tax! The owner says that this is an industry-standard but that is not true! I know of no other restaurants in Berkeley that compute the tip on the tax! Since arriving in Berkeley for a monthlong stay earlier this week, I've been here twice: once for lunch and once for scones. The lunch was good, and the scones were OK. Maybe I didn't get the right flavor (they only had one type left by the time I arrived at 11:00am this morning) - apricot raspberry, I think - but I wasn't that impressed and surely not as much as some of the other reviews suggest. After that, you take a shower, get your laundry going, and tidy up around the house before you even start to get hungry. Then, you know it's the perfect time to reward yourself with a fancy, gourmet breakfast to keep the momentum going all weekend as you crush through your bucket list. But usually that's not what happens. Usually you roll out of bed late ravenous and just want to stuff your face with delicious, unpretentious, cheap food that will send you back into a food coma to ride out the rest of your quiet weekend. On those days, you should go to Sconehenge. Seating inside is cozy, but we came with a group of 4 on a Sunday morning around 11 and were immediately seated, so I'm glad they fit in the extra table. The scones are definitely worth starting on, though don't worry about needing to order extra. I got their crab omelette special (the specials board looked far more interesting than their standard menu), and got a pile of crab meat in it. The hash browns were cooked a little unevenly with a fair amount of grease on my plate under the pile, but the crispy bits were nice, too. It's also remarkably consistent in terms of excellent food and customer service. It's reasonably priced the whole family can eat there. This is honestly my favorite place for breakfast period. I'll admit I have a weird criteria. I worked in brunch for 10 years and I don't have a lot of patience for waiting around for hours or chaotic service. What I love about this place is it's always consistent and delicious. If there's a wait it moves fast. Service is friendly and efficient. It's nothing fancy but it's damn good. My favorite dishes are the waffle, the pork links, and the huevos revueltos.
