CONS The charging unit did not seem to work properly all of the time. Some days the scooter remained fully charged and other days it would quickly run out forcing up to stop every 15 minutes and find an outlet. The headlight did not work nor did the taillights. I have been a travel agent for almost 8 years now and have been renting scooters for my clients and my mother the entire time. I have dealt with numerous suppliers and never had any issues until this trip with your company. Right before Christmas we were at Hollywood Studios. It was a rainy day. We were not provided with anything to cover the scooter controls, but we knew from past use that we did need something. So we took care of that on our own. The scooter started having issues. My mother called and the rep kept saying well its not working because she got it wet. She did not get it wet at all, we had the control panel covered and mentioned that many times. She told my mom there was nothing they could do except deliver a new scooter to our hotel (which they did). As you can imagine I was not happy about this. My moms scooter was breaking down in the middle of the park. I called back and got the same info. I asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor. I was not granted that request. I aksed why they wouldnt bring the scooter to the park after all you are contracted with Disney. They said they just dont do that. I asked again what is my mother supposed to do if it breaks down in the middle of the park. I was told she should just leave it there and call and someone will come get it, at some point.Then how does she get around the rest of the day? I asked if she had to rent a scooter from the park would scooterbug reimburse her and I was told yes. Then after more conversation and asking for the supervisor again I was put on a long hold. The rep came back and told me they would not pay for the scooter rental because we got the panel wet. Again we did not. I saw many scooters that day in the rain with no covers on the panels operating normally. This had nothing to do with it being wet (again it was not) but something was wrong with the scooter itself. We shouldn't have to rent another scooter we trusted Scooterbug to take care of us and they failed. So we were left with a scooter that wasnt running properly and could die at any moment. She continued to use that scooter and everytime she turned it off the whole day it took several tries and manipulation and time to get it started again. She had to leave it on while on the skyliner because she was afraid it would quit working and she would be stuck. There was absolutely no reason why this should have happened. From the other reviews it sounds like an on going issue. I asked for a refund for our troubles for the day and was told I would get one, then again they back tracked and said they wouldnt. This is unacceptable. I believe they did this because they are the only company officially contracted with Disney and think their customers are expendable. I will not be using your services again. I have voiced my concerns with my agency and owner, and also many others in the TA community. I hope this review helps someone in the future not have the same issues we did. Spectacular service. My companion needed an ECV, and ScooterBug was fairly priced and delivered to our WDW resort, so I reserved with them. I never expected them to be as great as they were! I'd made an error in reserving, but they were accommodating and got us an ECV. When the ECV had a problem the following day, they jumped in and arranged a replacement to be delivered and assisted us in getting Guest Relations to provide a wheelchair and attendant. It was all very easy, and we pretty much enjoyed the fireworks while they made arrangements. I couldn't be happier with the service, as well as the extra effort that ScooterBug made to ensure our WDW visit was great! read more

Very meh. Especially with the competition, you would think that ScooterBug would up their game. We rented a stroller for our trip to Disney world, and while our stroller was functionally fine, it looked terrible. Rubber grip half coming off of the handle, faded, wonky seat etc. Delivery was as expected, and adding to my reservation was very easy, I just wish that they had better quality strollers for the money that you pay. read more

I cannot believe that Disney would partner with such an incompetent company that has such terrible customer service. When a scooter is rented and paid for, one would expect a working scooter. How is that we had to go through multiple scooters that ruined a portion of our vacation because we had to sit on hold with your service department who was not only rude but not in the business to service their customers. Unsure where customers needed to do the legwork for a defective product(s). Then to be reimbursed a barely anything because we "had possession" of the scooter is mind boggling. We got a scooter for our trip that kept dying unexpectedly (going from green to not moving). The first two times I assumed we did something wrong (didn't charge it long enough or it was mid day and we were using it all day. The next day was my last straw with it. It worked for 30 mins of drive time and died. I rented a park one for the day and the park nicely charged it more for me and it got back to the resort where I turned it in. Customer service was called this morning where I got told I should have wasted park time to call and let them fix it and it is not even guaranteed that I will get a refund for the days I did not even use (2 days). read more

They rented me a scooter that was falling apart. When I reached out to them they offered to bring me a new scooter however I was on my vacation and didn't want to have to spend my time at Disney dealing with this issue. I paid for a cane holder which never worked. Wouldn't have ever worked as it was not long enough. They agreed to issue the refund. When I followed up after I returned home they denied that refund. I had a very successful rental with ScooterBug. We rented a stroller and it was waiting for us at Bell Services at our resort. There were no issues with the stroller the entire week. We returned it to Bell Services at the end of our stay and it was picked up. I highly recommend Scooter Bug and will use them in the future. read more

I love it when a company promises you something and they deliver with no surprises! The scooter I ordered was waiting for me to pickup at the resort Bell Desk. Had to use the extra battery only once, and was thankful it was supplied and easy to switch. Lasted all day at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom in two days after charging at night. Would definitely use them again. Only issue was WDW was using contract buses which don't have the ability to transport scooters. Had to wait until a WDW bus arrived (3rd one) which had a ramp to transport the scooter. Recommendation: Offer folding lightweight scooters so they can be transported on regular buses. read more

Scooter Bug failed to deliver 2 good operating scooters. We contracted for 2 scooters, a Resort ECV and a Resort Plus ECV plus a damage waiver for a total cost of $520. Now what you are about to hear is unimaginable. When they delivered the 2 scooters we went to pick them up, one was not able to operate, we had to leave it at the Bell Desk for a replacement. The replacement came and we picked it up and drove back to our condo at Old Key West. The replacement scooter struggled and almost didn't make it back. We charged this unit all night, then test drove it in the morning before we left to go to the park and it couldn't even go up the handicap incline so we left it and complained again. The next replacement worked well for one day, we put it in our condo and charged it all night, guess what, it wouldn't work in the moring so we had to leave and go rent at the park. I needed to rent an ECV every dat at the Park we went to. Scooter Bug has made no effort to accommodate us with a credit and we have disputed this with our bank, they won't get a penny until we get the credit. DO NOT USE SCOOTER BUG, DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR ADVERTISING OF HAVING A CONTRACT WITH DISNEY WORLD SUGGESTING THAT THEY ARE A REPUTABLE COMPANY. read more

I spoke with Anton. He was very helpful and said they would try their best. Avoid Scooterbug Rentals when you're at Disney World!! Batteries will die quickly. Tires will rub and catch. Seat backs are ridiculously over extended. You will be put on hold, forgot, and eventually disconnected. They are the only company Disney World contracts with to "hold" your scooter without an appointment to take delivery. Bell Services acknowledges the poor service and constant equipment complaints. Buena Vista Rentals and many others have better service and reliable scooters. We hired a twin stroller for our recent trip to Disney World. Great and seamless service! ScooterBug worked out cheaper than hiring directly at the park. They drop off at the start of your trip and pick up at the end of your trip at the resort so you get to keep the stroller with you for the duration of your trip. Never use Scooter Bug! Let me explain why! We rented 2 scooters for my husband and myself while on a Disney vacation with grandkids. Both scooters had to be replaced. One scooter replaced once because it was making a grinding noise like the bearing was going out according to my husband. The second scooter was replaced twice (once because of battery issues and once because of noise). Battery died and our son and another gentleman helped push me up the ramp on the bus. Second replacement was same noise as our very first scooter! Time is money and very valuable while on a Disney vacation! You do NOT want to spend your vacation at the Bell Services Desk of the resort waiting on replacements! There are seriously so many rental places in Orlando! Even bell services complained about Scooter Bug issues. WE got to know them very well. Disney really should investigate complaints on Scooter Bug and use another provider like Global Mobile Solutions (GMS)! The GMS scooters were top notch and who I will plan to use in the future! Our Disney representative was trying to handle our complaint with Scooter Bug directly after four attempts. Twice they told her she would be expedited to a manager only to never have a manager call her back. Therefore, three (3) weeks later, I now attempted to file a complaint and requested a refund of at least one scooter after all of our hassles. After explaining my situation to the representative that answered, she put me on hold. To my surprise, she returned to the line and said I'm forwarding you to the manager. He proceeded to tell me that he could only refund $109. Don't ask me how he came to this figure when the bill was $434.60. Why did it take 3 weeks to resolve this issue? I will tell everyone I know! Never rent junk at Scooter Bug. Poor customer service and very poor business practices! Lesson learned! read more

The only reason I gave two stars is because when any of the scooters I rented held a charge, the scooters did move. (I'm being VERY generous here, folks.) I have been in the park for thee days. Today, I will be on my THIRD scooter. I am a VERY patient person and am very understanding. Neither of my scooters (so far) have been able to STOP when on an incline or decline. This is a MAJOR liability issue for people around me...myself, having to find an awkward way to brace myself (as a disabled person)...for the parks, because I will roll on/in to another guest...AND for Scooterbug themselves, unless their attorneys drew up some clever contract verbiage. The batteries have been anything BUT reliable. My mother also rented her scooter from Scooterbug and has the same issue. Her second scooter has operated fine, to this point. We have had a total of 4 scooters now between us. All but one have had the braking issue. Two of the 4 have had battery issues. My mothers first scooter showed it was fully charged, but once on an incline, the battery would rapidly drain. I had to push her out of the park on the first night. My current scooter was charged overnight for 10 hours. I hopped on my scooter ready to hit EPCOT for lunch reservations. My scooter showed that it was fully charged. AWESOME!! I headed towards the elevator at my hotel. Before getting there, my battery went all the way in to "red". After calling Scooterbug, they will replace it in about two hours, which they have been great at doing. However, because this scooter's death was at the beginning of my day, I am riding the Skyway right now in to EPCOT, so that I do not miss my dining reservation. Then, I have to get back on the Skyway after lunch (which requires a hefty incline...), head BACK to my hotel to swap scooters (mine will be lucky to make it that far), then hop BACK on the Skyway to head back to EPCOT for the rest of the day. My day will have several hours dedicated to swapping out a scooter that has not been reliable. I'm disappointed, to say the least. As a disabled person, I have to use the scooter as my legs. This is a lot of work and wasted precious (and expensive) vacation time. I'm also incredibly shocked that Disney would recommend them on their website. I find it hard to believe that any other scooter rental business could be less reliable than Scooterbug. If you have to pay a little more for another scooter company's devices...it would be worth it. The issues that we have experienced with Scooterbug's devices seem to be purely from not properly maintained devices. I would pay much more if the devices were reliable. DO NOT RECOMMEND, unless you are trying to spend your time waiting around for replacements. read more

The second- which is the scooter we had for four days- couldn't hold a charge. We were constantly having to stop and wait for an hour at a time before the scooter could go. Left me a malfunctioning scooter the first day. After several calls and a few call backs; the company delivered another replacement scooter 2-3 hours later. Unfortunately, one of our party that needed the scooter was unable to make use of first day theme park passes because of this delay. I recently rented from ScooterBug in Orlando. As can be seen by my previous reviews I was very, very, very happy with them. Sad to say I can no longer say that after this recent rental. Before writing this review I emailed Scooter Bug, giving them a chance to explain what happened. I haven't had a reply in a week so I feel I need to write this review. To begin with, the scooter they rented me looked like it had been through a war zone - all beat up and scratched. In fact, after I picked it up and went to disassemble it I had to literally pound on and shake it to get the two pieces to separate. In looking at it I was quite sure that particular scooter had not been taken apart in quite some time due to the rust build up were the parts joined. The next day we went to Magic Kingdom and I never even got to the front gate before the battery died! Of course I had the other one and the charger. I though possibly it just hadn't been recharged. So I completely charged both batteries overnight. Luckily I never had to switch batteries again until the second last day. I put the "bad" battery in and it again was dead, it did not hold a charge whatsoever. I called Scooter Bug, and after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, initially the gentleman I spoke to just told me to plug in -as there are plenty of outlets throughout the park. I told him I was supposed to have 2 batteries and wanted a replacement. He told me they would bring one to Magic Kingdom in 3-4 hours - and call me to meet them at the front gate. 4 hours later I was called and told that the battery was dropped at "sundries" at Disney Springs. I told him I was told it would be delivered to the park. He told me he would call me right back. I never heard from anybody from Scooter Bug again. In looking at other scooters around the park neither my wife or I saw one that looked to be in as back as shape as the one Scooter Bug rented me. I waited to write this review hoping ScooterBug would reach out. Knowing how things have been for the past 18 months or so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, I cannot recommend Scooter Bug to anybody after this experience. read more

Used the ECV 5 days, first day was great! the last 4 days was a nightmare! the unit was charged for 8 hours every night but each day the ECV gave me 2 OR 3 HOURS. I've had top notch service from ScooterBug for the last few years. They primarily rent scooters but also rent all types of medical equipment. Anything relating to mobility. It's convenient for travelers that have mobility issues as they will deliver directly to which ever hotel you are staying at. Once you rent from them, your info (excluding payment info) stays in their computer so next time there won't be so many questions asked on the phone. If you plan on renting a scooter or wheelchair from a Disney Park that's more than likely not going to happen. We rented a double stroller because we thought using them would be easier since they are WDW preferred vendor. The first stroller they delivered was broken. The bottom basket was literally split in half. They covered it with the rain cover so we didn't see it until we needed to use it. Customer Service was closed. They gave us a different stroller the next day and gave us a credit for one day. Sure enough, the next stroller was also broken! This time the piping was missing in the sunshade so when you used it it sunk instead of stayed up and away from the child. The piping in the other seat was literally poking out. we had to switch seats so my son would stop playing with it. They need a serious upgrade on their inventory. I never heard back about the second broken stroller or received another credit or offer for a third. read more

Rented the scooter in August for a visit in December. Scooter was waiting for me at the time of arrival. It worked great. The only complaint I might have is not having information about the battery level. If the battery level had been explained, it might have given my visit a 5-star rating. We rented from scooter bug while at Disney. They have a special relationship with Disney Resorts as they are the only company allowed to drop off and leave their scooters with the resort. We had not one but 2 scooters break down in less than 12 hours. The staff at Disney says they have problems with scooter bug all the time. We had earlier rented a scooter bug in Vegas and it also was faulty. If you call with a problem you do not get local people, you get a national central call center. read more

Both our double stroller and scooter were excellent. Clean, worked perfectly and no issues at all. They were right at the bell station when we arrived and we were in and out and on our way to the parks within minutes. I am so glad we did not rent the strollers or scooters at the park. I saw at least 4 kids fall out of those strollers and the park scooters were huge and didn't go up hills easily from what I could see.
