A great place to enjoy a meal on the lake. It doesn't matter if you're boating, or you just stopped by for some good food. We had a 55 minute wait to get a table, which is not bad. We were told 50-55 minute wait time. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. Once we got to our table, it only took about 5 minutes to get our drinks and then 5 minutes later our server came back to take our order. Again, the staff was great and courteous. After waiting about 25 minutes our food had arrived. I was hoping to have the great meal but there was a few small issues. I ordered a burger and fries. The lettuce was a little black on the edges and seemed a little wilted. I had asked for my burger to be cooked medium, but it turned out well done. The fries however were probably the best I've ever had. If my burger would have been better, I do believe 5 stars would've been my review. Desert was also a show stopper. We ordered two different deserts to share between our group of 5. The s'mores desert was absolutely delicious, just as the apple pie and ice cream. All in all, I do believe we will be back and I feel I can recommend to anyone wanting a meal on the lake. The menus do not have any prices so if you are not prepared to drop a little more for your meal, I suggest you keep moving to another option in town. read more

Great service thanks to Devyn on the patio. The patio was the perfect option since it was covered and they had fans running 24/7. Our table of 6 ordered appetizers, drinks, dinner and dessert. All of it was great! Their chicken wings are fabulously big and the edamame were tasty with sea salt & cracked chili peppers. Both came with delicious sauces. 1/2 of our table ordered the Walley sandwiches were just ok but I think I just don't like the taste of Walley. I'm more of a true cod type gal. The onion rings were just ok but again, I'm not a big fan of beer battered (prefer panko) so that's on me. The grilled chicken salad looked amazing, the ribs (on special) were stacked high and my SIL said they were great. Her side salad also looked fresh and was packed full of veggies. The Bloody Mary's were packed full of veggies, huge olives, a beef stick and garnished with the tiniest bottle of tabasco. Shame I didn't get a picture cause it was really cute! This is a great place if you're out boating for the day. I wouldn't pay the $7 park entrance fee just to eat there but if you're already there, why not!? I'm here for the fish and chips! My hubby and I came here with family after playing at Paqua Inflatable Water Park. We were pretty hungry and decided to come here out of convenience. This was the second or third time I've been here and it was time to finally write a review. We loved the pretzel platter. It was huge and comforting and everything a pretzel platter should be! In the past, I enjoyed the fish tacos, but this time I had the fish and chips and really loved that. There is a kids menu available with crayons included so they can draw and color to stay entertained while waiting for food. We sat on the patio which was nice with the misters. The sail covers provided ample shade! There were ducks that came and dawdled nearby in hopes that they could get the French fries probably. I mean, because those fries though! So good!! This place is simple, has comfort food, and makes fun cocktails. Worth checking out if you're in the Scorpion Bay Area, especially after a day at Paqua Park or wakeboarding or whatever fun was had a Lake Pleasant. What a cute spot! My husband and I visited for the first time on Mother's Day. It was a perfect day to sit at the bar with the lake in our view. We ordered their version of a pina colada and the pineapple vodka. Both were tasty, but i would definitely recommend the pina colada. The bartenders were super friendly and prompt with service. Fish tacos at scorpion bay grill are a BIG yes from us. We've been coming here for years. My parents actually had their boat docked here and we would get these tacos delivered to the boat almost weekly. Although their boat isn't down there anymore, we still frequently go to enjoy the scenery, marina and to eat! The service is quick and the food is delicious and there is no other place in the Valley that you can sit on a dock and enjoy a beach-inspired menu and meal! Great place to eat on the water in the Arizona desert. Food and drinks are a little pricey but you pay for the unique ambiance. The food is wonderful. Best fish tacos I've had in a long time. We have a Maricopa Park pass which covers the $7 admission into Lake Pleasant. That could be a deterent for those just coming to eat. read more

This place used to have really good beer cheese but when I went last it was extra gross. Tasted like hot dog water- seriously. The older male waiter has zero personality on top of it. Really seemed like he didn't want to help or even be there at all. Didn't smile one time and I swear he was inconvenienced to be spoken to. On top of that it was fairly expensive. Food was mediocre at best. I would not recommend- but then again- dillans bbq at the other lake pleasant entrance was terrible. Great place to stop while on the lake. Bloody Mary's are fantastic! Edamame is super delicious! Chicken planks are delightful! Servers are fast, efficient, and effective. The live music on the weekends is an added bonus, I wish it was posted on Facebook as an event when there is live music. This would likely bring in too much business? Boat Parking has improved with cleats added to the docks by the play area. We stop every time we're on the lake. We have never been disappointed at Scorpion Bay. Way better than Dillon's on the other side. I have visited both 20+ times. Bathrooms always smell, at least they're there. That's pretty normal for that style of facility. Keep up the great work! Overpriced food! We were around the area hiking. We decided to stop by at the cafe for quick snacks. We ordered two regular milk coffee and a flat bread. The flat bread was really small in size compared to the $12 price. Barely had 4/5 tiny slices with blant taste. For our coffee we had requested, creamers on the side. The hostess got us only 4 creamers. I was completely shocked. Even when you get a coffee from MCDONALD'S they give you at least 3/4 creamers per cup. Here we had only 4 for 2 cups of coffee. We requested the hostess for some more creamers, by the time she got those, we we're ready to leave as we had finished our food. Mind you the cafe wasn't so busy. Utterly disappointed by the customer service and over priced food that tastes below average! However, the ambience and the feel of the cafe is amazing. Thanks to the water around!! read more

We're camping at Lake Pleasant and wanted to try Scorpion Bay because we haven't been happy with Dillon's. Scorpion Bay is WAY better than Dillon's. We went there today and had a few beers and appetizers. We had the hot wings which were excellent! We also had the onion rings which were terrible! They weren't crispy but were grease soaked and soggy. We really should have sent them back, they were that bad, but didn't. Other than that everything was great! The service was excellent and we sat outside on the patio and it was really nice too! We had the Scorpion Bay Amber Ale and it was really good! We will definitely go back there again. read more

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and her parents for lunch. We came to Scorpion Bay Grill because we were at Lake Pleasant for the day and it was lunch time. This restaurant is located on the dock itself and so is on the water. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with the outdoor seating being tables and the indoor seating being both regular tables and high top tables. Other than the tables there was also a bar inside and they had 3 flat screen TVs along the walls all with sports on it on this day. We ended up choosing to sit inside since it was windy and cold outside and were told that it would be about a 10 minute wait. True to their word, about 10 minutes later our table was ready and we were seated. On the side of the restaurant where we were sat, the wall was made up of a "garage door" of windows and so I am sure that in better weather they would have been open to the water. For lunch on this day I decided to with the Dam good fish tacos. The menu described them as grilled or beer battered cod (I chose beer battered), Napa Cabbage, jalepeno lime glaze, pico de Gallo and fries. My tacos came out with skewers through them to keep them together as the fish was quite large. After I got the skewers out I took a bite and was pleased with it. The fish itself had a nice crispy exterior and was cooked well inside too. My favorite part of the dish though was the jalepeno lime glaze which was a bit thicker than I expected but delicious. It added a nice acidity to the dish which cut through the richness of the breading and also had a bit of heat on the backend, but not enough to notice it for longer than a few seconds. Then my French fries were pretty good too. They were seasoned nicely and uniformly cooked to a crispy exterior and soft interior. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future . It's location on the water is pretty great and I enjoyed the food as well. read more

Cobb salad was delicious. It was so good, I got it twice over two days of camping at Lake Pleasant.

On Saturday, Feb. 19 our party of 14 went to Scorpion Bay Grill to celebrate my husband's birthday between 4:00p and 5:00p. We sat outside on the patio where Coli was an excellent waitress. The food was good except the fried foods were overcooked. Even the second order of onion rings to replace the first were overcooked. My husband had received 2 envelopes with his name on them which contained gift cards that were left under his plate. As soon as we realized it, we began calling the restaurant at 6:35p (8 times total), but no one answered. We then called the very next day when it opened and spoke with Diane who stated that no one found the cards where they were clearly there and seen by whomever services the table. I emailed grill@scorpionbayaz.com to ask if they can look at the camera to see who stole the cards but I have not received a response. I would have given them 4 stars if his cards hadn't gone missing. I don't understand why they didn't answer the phone. I also don't understand why they didn't reply. read more

We love to bring out-of-towners here for lunch. We love the drive there and then it's a bit of an attraction to get down to the marina. You park, then you have the option of taking the stairs or riding the "inclinator", as they're called in Pittsburgh. Since we had my MIL, we rode the inclinator. We sat inside, as it was cooler, but if it's nice outside, definitely choose to sit on the dock. On the dock, you can watch the boats coming in n out of the marina, while sipping your drinks. Btw, you'll LOVE their Bloody Marys! Complete with their individual bottle of Tabasco. The only thing that would put this over the top, would be some crab in there! But, I digress. I ordered the special, which was a French Onion Chicken sandwich. It was tasty. My wife got the fried cod, good and plentiful. My MIL ordered the chicken bbq flat bread and she enjoyed that. We ended up chatting with a couple that just moved from Washington state and it was fun and relaxing. So...definitely try a Bloody Mary and I usually order the special of the day. Oh, I forgot to add that we've brought our Golden Retriever here on the dog-friendly dock. They even bring them fresh, cold water! read more

Seriously great food! This has got to be the best burger I've had since I moved to Arizona over a year ago. The service staff is friendly and willing to answer any question you have; which she did not know the answer to so she checked with the kitchen staff. Perfectly handled :) The Cowboy Burger that I ordered came out cooked perfectly (medium) and was clearly cooked over a flame, still juicy and full of flavor. I will definitely be coming back for this burger and the ambiance. Temperatures were perfect even though it was 107 out, because the fans were on and since it's on the water, there was a breeze. Very delightful. The Walleye Fish in the new Walleye sandwich was stated to come from the Great Lakes but what was I expecting, the flavor was completely cooked out of it. The breading was too thick and sucked out all of the fish taste. Some may like that, some may not. read more
