The whole experience has been a whirlwind of an experience. We first went just to look at a new Sequoia, luckily, they had one on the lot to see. We worked with Frisco, who was great and not pushy. We decided we wanted to go ahead with the purchase and Frisco and his team worked their magic to not only get us approved, but to find us a vehicle coming in brand new in about a week. (Which was no issue since we had a vehicle we were trading in to use in the meantime.) We completed half the paperwork that night. After a week, the vehicle came in and we went the next day to finish signing everything and trade in vehicles. After a few hours, we finally were on our way in our brand new 2025 Sequoia. That afternoon as we were driving home, which was an hour away, we noticed the air conditioning not working. We thought maybe because it was a brand new car, it needed to get the fluids running and gave it time. The following day (a Thursday), we received a call stating the financing bank sent back paperwork because the signatures were 'off the line'. We made the trek back to the dealer, all while confirming the A/C did not work. When we got to the dealer, we were greeted where we explained we were just there to fix a signature, but also needed to speak to someone regarding the issue on our new car. We waited for quite a while just to fix the signature and then were left to wait for a manager. We waited over an hour before we finally got to speak with someone. That was when they notified us we couldn't get our brand new car serviced for another couple days. Keep in mind, we had 2 children under 3 and live an hour away. We had to drive home in a car with no AC and the thrill of a new car, gone. We went to the Toyota dealership in Salisbury that was a lot closer to us, where they proceeded to tell us that the manufacturer forgot to add Freon which was why the air conditioning wasn't working. After they kept it a couple hours, they got the car fixed. After a week, we packed our car to go on a trip and found the AC had gone out AGAIN. We had to drive our broken, brand new vehicle 10 hours with little kids with no AC to Florida. The dealership there kept it another week, unable to get the part in to fix it. So we had to make the same trip back to NC in the heat. We dropped the car off at Scott Clark the Monday when we got back, we worked with Laney. We told her exactly what was going on and what the other dealerships had done/told us. She told us it had to be submitted through warranty and that she wasn't sure if it was covered. IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR. The rental side of the dealer however, told us it was covered and they proceeded to get us a rental. Laney called us back that evening and stated the part should take 2-3 weeks and asked us if we wanted the car back. We told her no and that the rental needs to be covered. A week and a half later, we get the call that the part has been fixed and the car is good to go. We asked if she could get the car detailed for us due to the inconvenience and for all the stress this brand new 80K car has caused for us. She told us no, and then proceeded to get frustrated that our frustration was going to cause her to get in trouble. She told us she'd run the car through the car wash and that was it. When we picked up the car, it had not been washed. Laney was not there and the service dept rep didn't even know who we were or what car we were picking up. We gave our name and they asked if it was a different car. That's when we had to tell them the exact car we were picking up. Then it took another 30 minutes to watch it sit behind the gate because the driver forgot to bring it around for us. Needless to say, once you make the purchase, the customer service goes away. You do not feel important and your purchase is just another check on their board. We got this brand new car and it spent the first month and a half getting repairs and missing out on the free amenities. read more

The only glitch they hv to improve is monitoring which customer arrives first. This is not the first time I was passed over for a gusto who came in later than me. Today it's two hours of waiting so sure I'd like to be served before those who hv come after me. What do u think? I'm glad that service lady rep who chose the latter customer didn't serve me bc I had a great rep who seemed to care n explained the services that were recommended. I didn't need to align my recently new tires even tho the 40K service recommended it. I did go for the $160 fuel system cleaning tho. He even took the time to show me a sample buildup. Pretty poor customer service. Used to be fine but something obviously has happened. Cars continually enter the service bay. But they are not uniformly and consecutively greeted and checked in. It is not clear why, since there are many techs apparently working at their desks. Some people are checked in and others who have been waiting longer are not. Unacceptable. All service customers are required to walk to the waiting area across the access floor which is usually covered with fluid either rain water or worse engine fluids. I am sure their liability insurance premiums would suffer mightily after the first slip and fall accident on the tile floor. Unacceptable. In a previous review, I had noted the Service Tech handling my work outlined what was done in the safety check. Not performing a spare tire pressure check was obvious, which I brought to her attention. I'm anxious to see if that check is performed during this visit. My analogy would be that it looks like a first class establishment however appearances are deceiving. Everything is modern except the attitude and treatment. After I purchased the car, I was to get a three month 3000 mile warranty, which I never received after requesting it from five different people on six different occasions. If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. That is how I would describe this establishment. It is merely form over substance. I would not walk away from this dealership I would run. I had a great experience at Scott Toyota two weeks ago. Was I looking to purchase a car and leave that day in one? Yes and no. Yes, I was looking to purchase a car but I didn't know that I would be leaving in one that day. Can I say that Jaime was awesome. I am so thankful that he took care of me. I didn't feel that I was being taken advantage of because I am a female. They had so many cars to choose from on their lot. He got my car I was looking at and pulled it to the front. We took a test drive and he explained all the features. I was able to buy the car that day. Konner took really good care of me and was patient. Its the most expensive car I have ever bought so it made me really nervous. After a few days of having the car, Jaime gave me a courtesy call just to check in with me. We were introduced to a salesperson name Jamie and he was a complete pleasure to be around. He was very courteous and nice and made us feel at home. BUYER BEWARE!! - We had a DEPLOARABLE experience with Scott Clarke dealership. On 4/12/25, we decided to buy a used Toyota and were asked to wait while it was 'checked out 'in their shop. We bought the car on 4/19/25 with a 10-day return policy (which seemed too good to be true, and it was too good to be true!). Just two days later, on 4/21/25, we returned it due to starting issues. The dealership scoffed at this, ran diagnostics and claimed there was nothing wrong with it. They shoved a wad of papers in our chest and dismissed the situation. Upon reading the papers later, it was $1,000 estimate for repairs, including a new battery and oil change. UNBELIVEABE. read more

Took my 4Runner in for my engine light being on. Spent over $1.5k on it to fix everything. Two weeks later the engine light was back on. The staff had little to no communication with me and would not explain anything. They tried to charge me for small things that were unnecessary multiple times. Felt as if the staff was being incredibly dishonest. On top of this - I was hit on inappropriately by an employee who also shared sexual personal stories that made me feel uncomfortable. Untrustworthy and non-existence response ! I had my 2016 Sienna services there 10/2 via pick up and drop off service. They called to say I needed front brake pads and fuel system treatment which I authorized. When the vehicle was returned and the invoice given to me I saw a $35 "misc. charge". I called the next day to ask what the $35 was for, the other service Advisor couldn't tell me and said he needed my particular Advisor to explain it. No call back. I messaged them from the website with the inquiry. No reply. I called a 2nd time - no rely. The Advisor called me back but didn't leave a detailed message to explain the $35 misc. charge. I called him back and left him a message as well. We here I sit almost 2 weeks later with NO explanation! And this is after I have reached out to Scott Clark Toyota 5-6 times in the week following the service! read more

I called to learn if a little Kia Soul was available that I saw on their website. I was interested for my daughter. We went to test drive it and sat with a very kind salesperson. Later a sales manager came. "While" negotiating and seeking that no one else had touched the car as we were looking at it the whole time in the window, we were told that it was sold?? Because oddly, the sales manager got up during our negotiations and the asked for the key. Why you ask? Me to. I think he knew of the other client already. So instead of ethically saying someone wants to buy,, but you are here first do you want to buy? ...Noooo, these people let the othe guy buy right out from under me and my daughter. This was the poorst example of customer service and no one cared about our concern. Another cheesy sale manager came to talk to us with an attitude. The GM initially had the same disposition but eventually agreed that it was wrong and attempted to offer alternatives. But the damage was done. Never again. I've come here on three separate occasions for oil changes, and my experiences have been fair at best. I always On two of the visits, I sat waiting in the service bay for an service adviser to acknowledge my presence. Service is pretty slow for a simple service, and the wait time is always extended by the service adviser trying to upsell on something, whether it be filters, tire rotations, or wiper blades. It definitely helps if you have prepaid service (easier to avoid hassles, etc.). On my last visit, I paid out of pocket for a synthetic oil change, which ran around $55 with a coupon. When they replaced my oil change sticker, the mileage printed on it was for a standard oil change. Did they rip me off? Did I pay for a synthetic oil change and they gave me standard oil? There's really no way of knowing, but the sticker certainly makes me wonder. The waiting area is fine enough, with a lot of seating and a few different areas. There's a cafe and manicure area, but everything is typically closed when the service department opens in the morning, which is when I go. There's free coffee, but it's truly terrible. In general, I go to Scott Clark's because it's close. That's the only thing it has going for it. read more

All owners of 2020 and 2021 Toyotas need to be aware that there can be a problem that drains your car battery. The battery is not the problem: it is something called DSM Firmware Update is needed. My problem, along with many Toyota owners throughout the country, is that I go out in the morning to start the car and it will not start (and more than once this has happened). The "DSM" is trying to do its job and the battery keeps trying through the night to have the DSM do what it is supposed to do. However, the DSM is "inoperative" and the battery drains itself and therefore it dies. Toyota has known of this problem for a significant amount of time but yet there was no recall and I am not aware that customers have been notified of the problem. There is now a Technical Assistance Bulletin out to hopefully address the problem. If the dealership finally addresses the problem and the car is outside the warranty period, be prepared to pay $200 plus for something that Toyota should have corrected years ago. This Toyota owner has lost a lot of trust in the Toyota brand! read more

What a great experience! From the second we walked in the door and met our salesman Brandon we knew we were in good hands. He listened and was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. We knew what we wanted and what we were willing to pay. They shot straight, were very customer oriented and made this a very enjoyable experience. I've never left a dealership without feeling frustrated until last night. Brandon is amazing and then Cindy in finance is too!! Cindy took over to finalize everything in finance and I enjoyed every second of it. She explained everything, didn't try and price gouge us. We left with a killer warranty, a great new ride and two new friends!! This time I brought it in just for a tire rotation where I had an appointment, and I was told it would be an hour when I brought it in. Now, it has been 2-1/2 hours and I am still waiting! If you take the time to read this, then know that this isn't the dealership for you. I purchased a vehicle in January that was supposedly certified and obviously it was not. The center part of the dash lights were not working and the dealership didn't want to fix it so said for me to wait a month and they would pay the deductible and get it fixed. My this this if you are saying you are selling a certified vehicle, then that is what you need to be selling. I then took it in to get fixed and heard nothing for over two weeks, I decided to call my salesman and he thought I had already picked it up. I wouldn't be calling if I had my car so he jumped right on it. He called me back a few minutes later to let me know that they were still looking for the vehicle that no one knew where it was. Now I have you know that during these two weeks that they had my vehicle they only had that one item fix and none of the other issues that had been addressed that I was told we're going to be taken care of. By this time I was pretty furious. I call the so called manager that they call Donut and of course he never responded to any of my calls. I finally took a ride to the store and meet Donut and he tried to play it off as off "oh I never received any calls from you" I say that is strange because I actually left messages to return my call. Also I call your personal cell and went through the switch board. So once again the issues continue and the problems are not resolved. I guess I will be going to Action 9. I so over all the run around. Anyone reading this review please check your vehicle out they are shady dealerships and I wouldn't buy from them. As far as their service department is concerned, this is the most honest dealership I have ever used. I had my 2013 Rav 4 towed into the shop. I expected them to do what every other dealership I have deal with in the past have done, pad the bill with unnecessary work. They charged me for just a new battery. The sales rep was of course wanting me to come in right away, which is fine and I gave him a date ( 2 days later ) which my wife and I would be coming in to test drive the vehicle. 2 days later, I text him ( which is the way of contact he suggested ) about making me an offer for my car. We bought a 2011 Toyota Venza at Scott Clark Toyota. The buying experience was fine, however, Phillip Stroup, the financial advisor, used a scare tactic in order to sell us an extended warranty. He was also deceitful when detailing the terms of the warranty. Buyer beware! Sheila, the manager, was not helpful at all and thought it was fine that her employee of ten years was not forthright with important information and that he used scare tactics to make himself more money. Afternoon All, I would like to share the the "experience" from Scott Clark Toyota and I have YET to step foot on there dealership. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! If you want to be hounded by all means, go right ahead but I will never use their services. How is that possible you ask? Ha!! I give one star because that's the lowest rating. Would give them a zero if I could. I've been in and out of multiple service centers over the years but NONE did this. I was looking around for a new service center as I wasn't happy with a prior visit at different company. So I called and set up an appointment Friday 08-17-18 and service rep was nice and polite and set appointment for 8am Monday 8-20-18. Fast forward a whole day to 8-18-18 and I get a call from Scott Clark New Car Sales Rep asking if I would like to upgrade my 2006 tundra as they would love to help. My SERVICE appointment is not till Monday. I was puzzled. Then after listen to the voicemail - the rep follows up with a text message to me asking basically the same thing. I'm sorry, if they are this aggressive with a service order then I want NO PART of them or ever have to deal with an entity like this...... I've worked for a car dealership while in college and shortly after and I can tell you that we were told repeatedly not to engage a service appointment unless they approached us first. We were a big dealership too! Obviously this environment that Scott Clark has is nowhere near the same. Please drive somewhere else and have your toyota serviced or buy elsewhere. What a horrible experience! My truck has been at the dealership for 2 months due to my catalytic converters being stolen. The dealership has not been able to locate the parts and I was told recently that it might be another 2-3 months before any parts come available. I decided to go to the dealership last Friday and see if the dealership would just buy truck back as I know that good used cars are in high demand. My 2016 Toyota Tundra 1794 edition is in good shape and I had already pulled the KBB price. I was shown a Platinum edition with roughly the same miles but was not impressed. The salesman proceeded to tell me that he would go ask the used car manager what they could give me for my truck. This process took over an hour and a half as the salesman wanted to know my payoff, whether my truck had straight pipes on it, and I waited while the manager went to speak to the service department about my truck. In roughly 2 hours I was never offered so much as a cup of water and the used car manager never even came to introduce himself. What a lack luster display of customer service. After all the time I spent I still was not given an offer price on my truck. The salesman stated that it was a difficult situation. Everytime I try not write a bad review and to resolve any issues calmly, but this dealership sold me a car with defects! I was several times at this dealership with the noise that going's from the moonroof and from the passenger door! Everytime they said to leave the car , they " fix it " but not for long time, just for a couple days and the noise appears again, and again, I don't know how the technician can give the car back to the customer with the problem that wasn't resolved at all! I have to loose my money and time to come back every week to the dealer, but I'm still paying for the insurance and car,but driving a toyota rental! I have recorded the videos of my issues, that i was showing several times to service specialists and manager, they completely understand my frustration , but what I'm supposed to do if my car is not fixed? I explained if you cant fix my car issues, give me another !the same model! Or fix my car at all no matter how! How we are protected as a customer ?
