I went to Scotty P's for a hamburger, as the name says, but the burgers were just okay. The breaded chicken fingers were the reason to go. Big, juicy, and flavorful. The French fries were okay. We stood in front of the order counter for a long time and when the man finally came to the front he took the lady behind us who had just walked in but had called in a order which was waiting in front. I normally wouldn't have an issue with take-out coming first but it hit me wrong that we had been waiting so long just to be overlooked and put to the side. Actually I love Scotty P's but I prefer the location on Preston and Lebanon much more. Everything just tastes better there and even though this one is closer I will make the extra drive to get better customer service. Did I mention my daughter's bun was hard and she had to peel away the crusty parts? I'm looking at those three stars and reconsidering .... am I being too generous? read more

The service here could not be any slower and the person behind the counter had an attitude. I approach the counter and wait for her to notice me (the place was empty). She asks "can I help you?" which, I took as an invitation to order so I began. I made it about halfway through my order when she bullishly interrupted me, asking for my name. I was startled for a second and I asked "what?" She repeats ominously, "your name." It's hard to describe how she said it and her face expression at the time, but it was dripping with attitude as if to say "I'm the boss here and you are out of line. This order isn't happening on any terms but mine, buddy." For her, it was clear, this is very serious stuff. Okay, so I give her my name and tell her its a "to go" order. She grants me permission to order now. Whew. I place my order for 4 original burgers with fries. Then i wait 20 long minutes. At least the place was empty so it was quiet. I cant imagine how long food would take if they were busy. I ordered food at 11:37 on my receipt and they called my name at 11:55. The food was fairly good, which is why I'm giving them two stars instead of 1. I didn't think the food was good enough for the attitude and slowness though so I won't be back. read more

I'd never been to a Scotty P's, even though I live within 2 miles of one. Met the girlfriend here on Sat @ 8 pm to watch the Cowboy's game. She enjoyed her usual burger and onion strings and I grabbed a Buffalo Chicken sandwich and onion rings. Service was FAST and hot. Onion rings were a little too much breading, but tasted very good. Buffalo Chicken sandwich was great, as was the sweet tea. We were a bit surprised to hear they close at 8:30 pm, but they let us stay a bit while they cleaned up in prep for closing. I suspect they will get the 5 star review on my next visit. Just remember they aren't open late. Parking was easy. read more

I stop by this Scotty P's regularly with my family. The cold beers, burgers, fries and milkshakes are all consistently good, but I did have a recent incident with service that left a bad taste in my mouth, which was the exception. We always do the mobile order option from the table, and my wife always gets the same Borchardt Burger on Texas Toast. It apparently had been removed from the mobile option, so my wife went to order it at the font. This unfortunately became an ordeal where the gentleman helping her said it was never on the mobile ap, you must have got it at another location, and another employee acted like they'd never had it on the menu. She showed proof on an old email receipt, and their tune changed quickly and they went ahead to make it. When the order showed up at our table, they notified us both burgers were not made on Texas toast because they had been out of it for an hour. That should have been disclosed up front and was a deal breaker for us, so we decided not to stay. I get online sites are updated and maybe burgers rotate on and off the menu, but don't make the customer feel challenged. I also get why you have increased the price for extra cheese or are maybe cutting these specialty burgers due to cost of extra ingredients, but this interaction left a negative experience today for a semi-regular customer. Seems like they are chasing price increases with recent menu updates and trying to charge for extras that used to be free, so will not be back for awhile. read more

Been here a few times hoping for changes for the better and just about given up. The Good: Service is pretty quick actually. If you are eating in, they now bring the food to your table. Before you had to wait for a buzzer or your name to be called over an intercom. They turn over tables pretty fast. This could be because they are small and want to accommodate more people but they are constantly cleaning tables it seems. Grilled chicken tenders are pretty tasty. The Bad: The prices are high. For some reason no matter how you order your burger, it comes out like a hockey puck. Apparently everything is well done no matter how you order it. Sweet Potato fries are greasy Ordering system is not efficient at all. One person to take the order when you have 10 people waiting to order isn't going to get it done. read more

In my case, the good 'ol days were around 2003 when I first found Scotty P's and fell in love with their classic and individualized burgers & fries. But that was yesteryear and not today. On our recent visit we found the place is going down for the count. The burgers aren't the same. Different meat, different taste, smaller...can't really decide on exactly what it is. The fries aren't the same. Served cold and from a frozen bag. The service is not the same. Kids managing kids with no idea of customer service or efficient processes. As such, the place only had three patrons at 7 pm on a recent work night. This is in the middle of Kidville! Try it for yourself, but things aren't right here. New owners? Cost savings? Bad management? Food supplier change? Not sure, but it ain't like it was in the good 'ol days. read more

I ordered the Hatch Green Chile turkey burger with onion rings while the husband ordered the Hatch Green Chile-beef with sweet fries. None of the items ordered had any salt. I used to eat at Scotty Ps years ago and was so excited when I came across this location. I ordered the burger with hatch Chile's Togo and some fries. I really liked the fact they texted me when it was ready so I could sit in my car comfortably. I grabbed my burger and left. When I was ready to eat, there were no utensils, napkins or KETCHUP! It wasn't offered to me so I didn't think to ask, I just figured it would be in the bag. The burger was dry and over cooked. The fries tasted frozen and I didn't have ketchup for anything. We went here because my son's football team decided to have a team dinner. My wife, oldest son and I all had turkey burgers. My daughter had a regular burger. They were all mediocre at best. Went with two other work colleagues; last time I visited a Scotty P's I was 60 pounds heavier (mostly in my pumpkin sized head, but I digress) and this place was contributing to my ever growing girth....have you ever seen the buffalo chicken sandwich? Almost requires a 3rd hand and a standby cardiologist to spot you! However, control is now well within order, so I eagerly went for the chicken sandwich, sans cheese, and a small order of fries. Chicken sandwiches, which are not exactly rocket science to prepare, was just fine. Nothing outstanding, but the benchmark for such cuisine is pretty flat. However, my nit is the cost; chicken sandwich/sweet potato fries (a steep upcharge from regular fries) came to right around $10.00...no beverage (just water). That's steep, based on what this place serves, but portion sizes are ample (see earlier, too many visits here is not recommended for your caloric intake) and service efficient. I came here for my kid's school's spirit night. I had some kind of hamburger and french fries with cheese on top. Not the worst hamburger I've ever had but not much better than McDonalds. I ate it. It was disappointing, dry, small, and not much flavor. The cheese fries weren't very good either. French fries with a bunch of melted cheddar cheese on top that cooled and turned into a hard blob of cheese. I've had way better cheese fries at other fast food places. I have no idea why so many people were here. I assume they were also there for spirit night and would not normally waste their time and money on such mediocre food. Not impressed and was surprised there were so many people eating here today. For two burgers, with a couple of add on's of cheese and bacon, and a side of onion rings came out to $25, which is definitely not worth it. The things we liked here you can get anywhere else, and probably quicker service elsewhere too. We waited almost 20 minutes, and then the server arrived spilling the onion rings out of the basket. My burger was super pink on the inside, and my fiancé had a hair on his burger which was a great start. Presentation was fantastic, looks like it could've come out of a magazine. But the taste was the complete opposite. Not seasoned enough burger patties, and the onion rings tasted like they were plainly dipped in flour and then fried. The manager seems to think that 85 degrees temp in a closed building is appropriate for a restaurant. She was dismissive about the whole thing. I asked three employees and they said it's horrible and that is why they have fans on everywhere. After 20 minute wait for one burger and fries, I went to ask for a refund and left. eh, I thought this place just okay. I ordered a turkey burger with 1/2 sweet potato fries, 1/2 regular fries. Couldn't' believe the price jump from regular fries to sweet - I think like $2..silly. The fries were really hot and fresh but the turkey burger didn't impress me much. I get that turkey isn't that flavorful but there are so many ways to jazz up a turkey burger - - this place didn't do that for me. Maybe my outlook would be different if I got an actual burger..who knows.. Next time I want a turkey burger, I'll head to Gazebo Burger. read more

BBQ sauce straight from some store bought bottle. Pretty disappointed. Coulda gotten a 4x4 at In N Out for half the price, or gone to Shadys in Richardson for a full pound burger AND thick bacon for just $1 more. I mean, it was an alright burger, but not $10 alright. Tried this today and thought it was yummy! As usual, I made up my OWN blended version of something on the menu. Basically, A turkey burger sans toppings and bread, and atop a bed of lettuce. (Turkey burger salad??) - The guy who took my order was very nice and wasn't put off at all by my "special" order. Food was out FAST and was exactly how I ordered it! Note: Yes, I do realize that lettuce with a turkey patty on top is hard to mess up..but, it HAS happened elsewhere! I L O V E (turkey) burgers, but not they aren't all created equal! Although the beef burgers at Kennys seem to be my fave, I would say Scotty P's turkey burgers are actually way better! Better price point too. Although I ate at senior citizen hour (5 pm, don't judge me.) I felt like service was speedy and friendly and it wasn't over crowded.
