I stopped by Sky Rocket Burger for a quick dinner after I checked into a nearby hotel. When I arrived, there was only one other customer in the place, which gave me plenty of choices in terms of where to sit. But first, I went to the counter to order my burger and fries from the friendly cashier. I also ordered an orange-cream soda fountain drink, one flavor among the pure-cane-sugar drinks they offer. No high fructose corn syrup here. The burger was actually much better than I expected. I thought it was quite delicious, and the ingredients were quite fresh. The portion size was good, too. The fries were good, but they weren't the standouts in this meal. The burger and the orange-cream soda were more memorable. Although the place was very clean, and I was sitting indoors, where there are lots of tables and bar seating, there was one aggravation: aggressive fruit flies that have no fear of humans, so it was nearly impossible to swat them away. Thankfully, they were not mosquitoes, but it was impossible to keep them from crawling on my cup and food no matter where I sat in the large dining room room. Although the burger was good, prices are probably a bit high for what you get. That together with the fruit flies resulted in my three-star rating. If you can find a day when the flies are calmer, and you're not paying out-of-pocket (as was the case when I went), it might be worth a try if you are needing a quick meal within walking distance of your hotel. read more

Thick patty but still has that smash-style flavor, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, it was aggressively greasy. I'm not delicate and even I felt off afterward. There's greasy comfort food and then there's this. For what it costs, that's a problem. This place feels overpriced for the experience. Wait wasn't awful, but only because I was with friends. Staff was quiet and kind of annoyed, not rude, just not welcoming. The dealbreaker was cleanliness. Fruit flies everywhere near the soda machine. Once you see that, the meal is basically over. I live right above Sky Rocket Burger and had heard a lot of mixed reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to check them out for myself! Maybe I don't eat enough burgers to know the difference, but my fully loaded burger was juicy, delicious, and just perfect. I also love their tater tots -- crispy and tasty every time. The only small downside is that when I order to-go, they never include ketchup, and I don't usually have any at home -- so my poor tater tots go without! Apparently, the restaurant and the neighboring apartment complex have some kind of agreement with Warrior Towing that targets even paying customers. One of the workers actually comes inside, counts how many people are in the restaurant, and uses that to decide which cars to tow. As soon as I took a photo of the license plate, he suddenly offered to release the car for free. This whole situation felt extremely shady and dishonest. After this experience, I looked through the reviews and realized I'm far from the only person this has happened to. There are multiple complaints going back several years describing very similar situations involving aggressive towing of customers. That pattern is concerning and makes the enforcement feel extremely predatory. The tow driver claimed they check inside the restaurant (even mentioning knocking on bathroom doors), which seems unreasonable and not a reliable way to confirm whether someone is a paying customer. Additionally, responses from management on prior reviews reference towing in a way that suggests close coordination, while staff in-store stated it wasn't them. The inconsistency only adds to the confusion. Regardless of the specifics, legitimate customers should not have to worry about their car being hooked within minutes. I finally answered my friends' pleads and stopped sleeping on Sky Rocket burger. I can say it's a pretty solid burger! I thought about getting fries but decided to treat myself to tots. They were very tasty if you like tots. Crispy on the outside and potato-ey bits on the inside. Like others have said the milkshake is an expensive for what you get. It's basically a couple scoops of bluebell watered down with milk so you can drink it through a straw. I don't think I need to pay $6 for that in Texas. Notes about atmosphere: The Frisco location was quiet on a Wednesday evening, which surprised us but worked perfectly because the parking situation cannot support more than 10-15 cars. Ordering is contactless from a kiosk and then they call you to pick up at the counter. The workers are very polite and kind. The ambiance is nothing to write home about but it's clean enough. Frisco, we have lift off! I'm super picky about my burgers, and this place did NOT disappoint. The burger was perfectly cooked, the sesame bun was perfect, the fries + tots were divine! I felt like my food was cooked FRESH, which is something I've been missing at burger joints. I was pleasantly surprised when getting this burger. I had heard so many good things about this spot in Frisco, and many had positivity things to say when I asked about Skyrocket. The team in the back is quick to say hello and very attentive. I had an online order to pick up, and the restaurant looked very spacious and clean. Glad to see the place is still open as one might think it doesn't get much business considering location. Most such restaurant are located where there is a lot of car/foot traffic. I've never had an order be so wrong as the takeout order I got from you today. I don't even know where to start other than to say I ordered two identical burgers except one with cheese and one was supposed to have no sauce (our daughter has an extreme dairy allergy). The original location is so wonderful so our visit to this location was SO disappointing. The burgers were burnt as were the grilled onions. The fries were half mushy, half burnt and overly salty.
