We ordered Nachos which were really good. The bar is another story. On the menu, there are no prices on some of the items. I should have asked how much a drink and ordered just a plain house drink. The server didn't tell us the price or even knew what type of bourbon is used on a house drink when we asked. The drink was $18 for an old-fashion cocktail. The Four Seasons Hotel doesn't even charge that much for that drink. That was ridiculous and the drink was not even good. I ordered a mule and ice was filled to the brim. Don't waste your money at this bar. I spoke to the bartender the next day and her response was, oh well. I spoke to the front desk and they wouldn't even help me. The vibes of Scout are really nice and the menu flavors have a lot of potential. But the execution of the actual flavor of the food was lacking - everything tasted kind of funny? We got the brisket and the smoked fried chicken and our son got the kids burger. The coleslaw with the brisket was too sweet and tasted like fake tangerines, the fries had a weird flavor to them that I couldn't quite place, and the fried chicken was a little dry. Waited almost 1 hour only for the check. That wasn't even busy at that time, only some tables filled in. It also took long to get us seated. Only had 1 server during a Saturday morning. Service was more involved with the group catering in the other room. The couple next to us were concerned about the lack of service as well. Food was subpar. Avocado toast was a slice of avocado in the middle, then sparingly smeared spread or the other slice of avocado dragged into submission (not really sure which route was taken but it made the bread dry). Kale was a nice addition, however, it was not massaged or beaten, so they missed the point so lets just call it miners lettuce. The sides were potatoes or fresh fruit. My wife was not impressed with the fruit and I ordered the potatoes, probably the biggest mistake. For 18+ dollars a meal, I would hope that they were not previously frozen and heated in a microwave, but that's how it tasted. The service was fantastic, the drinks were fantastic... the nachos, not so much. Honestly, if you can mess up nachos, it's a culinary crime. I was left questioning the "chef's" life choices. The cheese was having a meltdown crisis--it refused to melt! Salsa on the bottom? Bold move. Then some mozzarella attempted a surprise cameo without melting, while the guacamole must've had a highlighter explosion--it was neon green! We live locally and decided to try it last night with friends. It's a little hard to find, (signs are ordered), but it's located cross the Worthington Gallery in the Red Cliffs Lodge. The decor is beautiful and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. They also have a beautiful bar and lounge. Started off with their Tikiti cocktail, deliciously different. The menu is a little like finding your way through the wilderness, but every one of our dishes was outstanding. The chef was a pitmaster for the world famous Franklin BBQ in Austin, so I had to try the brisket and I was not disappointed. Same story for my friends that had the hot chicken and the puttanesca pasta. It was finished off with some salted Carmel ice cream that was the perfect ending. What a disappointing experience. My husband and I were staying at the Marriott property that was attached to this restaurant. We decided to have breakfast our first morning in town and unfortunately, the service of the wait staff of the women was terrible. They were rude and the one gentleman that was also our main waiter that morning was the only polite person on staff.
