Dulivia Risttotante is beautifully designed with an upscale and classy atmosphere. It also has a patio with a great view, which adds to the experience. One thing to keep in mind is parking. If you arrive after 4:00 PM, parking is free when you go inside and validate it. You'll need to use an app for the validation process. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar. The bar area is fairly large and can probably accommodate around 10-20 people. They also have a wine cellar, which is a nice feature, and a great selection of Italian favorites. I also appreciated that they were willing to customize drinks. I ordered a mojito made with vodka instead of rum, and the service at the bar was excellent. As I looked around the restaurant, I noticed the serving team was attentive and timely. The entire restaurant was very clean, and there was great attention to detail throughout--not only with the food and presentation, but also behind the bar. The bartender was new, but she was very attentive and accommodating with the changes and requests I made. Watching the kitchen as well, it was clear there was a lot of care and preparation put into every dish. The food looked great, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was wonderful. We drove 52 minutes each way to try this restaurant after a friend's recommendation and were excited to dine here. Parking was a bit confusing with multiple QR codes--using the wrong one will result in paying to park, which could be explained better. The hostess was welcoming, and our waiter was very nice. Our drinks took quite a while to arrive, and when our meals came out, my daughter's and mine arrived, but my husband's was missing. We were told he had only ordered a salad, which wasn't correct, so his entrée had to be ordered while we ate. No one enjoys having one person at the table waiting for their meal while everyone else is finished eating. The manager explained it was our waiter's second day. I understand everyone has to learn, but new employees should be properly supported until they're comfortable. That's fair to both the employee and the customer. I wanted to enjoy Dulivia. My wife is Italian & loves bolognese. We are staying at the Springwood Suites in the same parking lot & Dulivia looks beautiful from the outside. I perused Yelp! & saw they have an elk bolognese. Wife wanted to try. I scanned the reviews...the majority opinion seemed to be that the physical space & the view are amazing...the food is good (not great), and the wait staff is lacking. Well, guess what, Yelp!: Yelp! knows what it's talking about. The restaurant itself is gorgeous: clean, luxurious, but not spartan or pretentious. We ordered a draft beer, a glass of wine, an appetizer of assorted Italian bread with olive oil & balsamic. My wife ordered the bolognese & I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with meatballs. The waiter returned maybe 5 minutes later to let me know that they had to "burp" the keg. I wasn't in a hurry, so I told him to just bring my wife's wine & to bring the beer whenever it was handled. He brought the wine right away. My beer took maybe another 5min: no big deal - I had water & a lovely view to enjoy. Next...the entrees arrived. I asked the runner what happened to our appetizer? He asked what appetizer we had ordered...and returned with a cutting board with 6 slices of bread ($9!). No oil or balsamic. He scampered off as my question "isn't there supposed to be olive oil with this" hung in the air. Annoyed, we began eating our entrees. My wife said the bolognese was far from the best she'd had, but she enjoyed it. As for my Alfredo with meatballs - as chicken meatballs go, these were fine, with a little spicy kick...but were not moist at all. The fettuccini itself was very good - you could taste it despite the rich Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo sauce was above average, but there wasn't nearly enough on the pasta. If I had to guess, it sat under a heat lamp for a few minutes & the fresh fettuccini had absorbed too much of the sauce. The waiter came to check on us. I commented that the bread didn't come as an appetizer...and that I had to ask the runner for it...and that we still didn't have the oil & vinegar to go with it. He seemed crestfallen & said he was going to speak to the manager (or maybe he said owner...not positive). He came back with oil & vinegar. Then a blonde lady with an affected way of speaking came to discuss the Bread Situation. We related what had happened & she apologized. We had a scoop of key lime gelato for dessert - the best tasting thing we had. When the check came, the waiter said "the bread has been taken off your bill...sorry again for that." My wife scanned the bill & replied "no...it's still on here." The waiter took a gander...rolled his eyes...and went to speak with the blonde. He returned & said "I apologize...she says she isn't removing it from your bill. I feel horrible...if you want, I'll pay for the bread." Of course we didn't accept. We settled the bill & left. My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and requested a window table with a view when we made our reservation. We were seated elsewhere, and when we politely asked to move to an open window table, the host simply said no without any explanation. Our server later told us the table was being held for guests with later reservations and that the server assigned to that section, Tyler, did not want to take us and constantly gave us dirty looks every time he walked past us. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a special evening. I do want to recognize our server, Lesley, who was amazing. She was kind, attentive, and did everything she could to make our experience better. Unfortunately, the way we were treated left us feeling discriminated against. From our perspective, it felt as though we were judged based on our appearance, including the possibility that assumptions were made about our race or how much we would tip. This was a fantastic impromptu dinner after a long day of hiking and the place we planned to eat was closed - what fortune! We didn't have a reservation but were happy to wait. Once seated, their floor to ceiling windows highlighted Zions majestic peaks as the sun was going down and rain was coming in heavily. Everyone was pleasant, and our server, Tyler, was exceptional! He definitely showed genuine interest in all the tables he was serving, and remembered us by calling us by the name of the places we were from, definitely a unique experience. Tomato soup with Gruyère toast was the perfect portion size, hearty and not tangy or sour some it can sometimes be. Bruschetta was our favourite of the night. The food was amazing -- great range of Italian dish selections all around. I do wish that the menu indicated which dishes had some spice (Spaghetti and Meatballs), but that's forgivable. We were seated outdoors a little past sundown in March, giving us a beautiful view of Zion and the slowly appearing stars -- as well as a pleasant, subtle breeze. I liked the fire pit: great source of warmth and light. My main complaint is how they managed the queueing process for non-reservations. At first, they told me it would take around 35 minutes, so I told them my phone number and we patiently hung around in their lobby. Around 30 minutes after my initial ask, I wanted to just check in about our place in the line. Without asking any questions about how long we've waited or who I was, they instantly grabbed the menus and seated us. This didn't sit too well with me -- did we wait there for nothing? Was the 35 minutes and phone number "line" arbitrary? Could we have been seated sooner if I asked earlier? read more

We also enjoyed some house-made pasta from the squid-ink bucatini with spicy crab sauce with plenty of delicious lump crab, to the tagliatelle bolognese with elk and pork. She disappeared after seating a party. I had to tagged her multiple times. Once we got seated, it took us awhile to order and get our food. Appetizers are good but the main entree is not good. Service is super slow. Had multiple tables waiting for so long to be ordered and to have the food delivered to the table. This is my fave dish for the night lasagna - not your typical baked lasagna and it was dried and not enough ingredients. Felt underwhelming salmon - on a bed of spinach and cherry tomatoes with finger potatoes. Salmon tasted fresh but a bit over cooked and bland. the potatoes were undercooked and dried. Restaurant looks nice and the decor was beautiful but needs a person in the front greeting customers at all time and need to be more attentive with service. Checked in at a hotel next door at 6:30pm and was looking for a quick dinner nearby. When my partner and I walked in there was no one there and a party also waiting to get seated ahead of us. When someone came out to seat us they said there were no tables available and we needed to sit at the bar, which was fine with us. The food is OK and did its job to fill us up after a long drive. The chicken Parmesan tasted almost like it was frozen and just heated up, but the veggies accompanying it tasted great. The pizza was better but still very average. We came here twice because it was right by our hotel at the Holiday Inn and had good food. Dining options are limited in the winter, but this place is great. The first night we sat at they bar because they didn't have any tables available. They have a good selection of wines and spirits. Looking at the kitchen you can see they run a tidy ship. The tomato bisque is good and comes with a gruyere "grilled" cheese. Crispy brussel sprouts are crispy and delicious. My husband really liked his sausage pizza, especially the crust. The second night we came earlier and we were seated at a table looking through their floor to ceiling windows with a lovely view of the red rocks. This is definitely a place to enjoy during the summer so you can enjoy more daylight and sunset views at the end of the day. Caesar salad was tasty. I like that they provide you with an extra lemon wedge because I love a little extra lemon. Croutons were delicious. The spicy crab bucatini was very good, but my husband didn't think it was worth $42. I thought it was a little steep, but fairly priced given that it's house made squid ink bucatini and crab served in Utah. Tagliatelle bolognese is one of their house made pastas and while it was good, it didn't blow my mind. We ended with a scoop of mango gelato to share which was delicious and tasted so creamy even though it's a water based gelato. Service was great on our first night. Service on our second night was a bit slower and our server was a bit forgetful. Overall, this is a solid option in Springdale. read more

My wife and I stopped here for dinner while visiting Zion National Park and we were very pleased with our experience. Very clean inside, modern, and beautiful. Our waitress was very kind. We started with a bottle of the Shiraz, as well as the bread service and eggplant parmesan. The bread service was huge and came with cheese, olive oil and balsamic, and butter. The eggplant parmesan was a little tough for some reason but had great flavor. For our main course my husband and I split the mushroom pizza which was fabulous, and the vodka pasta which was also super tasty. The portions were big and we were stuffed by the end. This place was the biggest surprise we had for Italian food. First off, Charlie was the best server my wife and I ever had. We came to this place with mid expectations but our server was genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever met. The food was actually really delicious as well, we had the chefs special some sort of steak pasta and the seafood linguine and both were delicious. Usually I don't expect good food with good portions from high end restaurants but this place absolutely changed my view on it. The ambiance was really fancy too and overall, this place was a 10/10. We ate at Switchback on our first night in Zion and learned that the same owners operate Dulivia, the restaurant next door. We made a reservation for two at 7 PM through OpenTable. Since dogs aren't allowed, we left ours in the truck with the windows cracked. The weather was mild, so our dog was comfortable after a long day of hiking. As we walked in, we noticed a dog tied outside, crying. It really tugged at our hearts. I don't understand why these restaurants don't have heated outdoor seating for guests with dogs--this would be my first complaint. When we entered the spacious lobby, we had to wait quite a while despite having a reservation. While standing in line, we overheard the people behind us complaining. They were from France and had nothing positive to say, dismissing the place as a typical "American Italian" restaurant with long waits. That was already irritating (French is my mother language, and I nearly told them to leave if they didn't like it, but I stayed polite). Between the crying dog, the complainers, and the slow service prioritization (shouldn't reservations come first?), the experience was off to a rough start. Once we were seated, our server was friendly and outgoing. We mentioned wanting to check out pictures online, and he noted that they were "outdated" but added, "we're working on that." I'm not sure if he realized we were looking at Yelp review photos rather than the restaurant's website, but we went with the flow. The photos weren't particularly impressive, so I chose the lasagna, which looked like the best option. We also ordered a caprese salad and bread. Everything came out relatively quickly, and the food was fresh and delicious, much like Switchback. At the end of the meal, I mentioned it was my husband's birthday and that we had cake waiting at our campground resort (hoping for a small celebratory gesture). Instead of a scoop of ice cream with a candle, the server brought out a lime with a candle stuck in it. We laughed it off, but it left us scratching our heads. For a higher-end restaurant, you'd think a complimentary scoop of gelato wouldn't be too much to offer a new client celebrating a birthday. I ended up cutting the lime with my pocket knife and squeezing it into our Pellegrino as a joke--our "dessert." No further comment needed. Overall, I'm giving this place 5 stars because the food was great and fresh. However, they should consider adding a heated outdoor section for guests with dogs, improve the check-in experience, and rethink how they handle birthday celebrations. A lime isn't it. read more
