Went to a church nearby and asked someone who goes there where they like to stop and eat afterwards. She told me about Scramblers which is where the old Perkins used to be. It's strange that a somewhat similar restaurant couldn't make it there, but this one is. We all ordered something different and we liked our dishes. I'm a girl who likes to eat breakfast any time of day so this place suits me. You will find the portion sizes to your liking, too. read more

Its been a couple years since Ive ordered anything from this place and it showed up on my Doordash list. I must say, absolutely nothing has changed. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with extra mushrooms and hash browns extra crispy. When I got my order the omelet had spinach and no mushrooms and the hashbrowns were undercooked. Since it was a delivery order, I sent an message to their corporate office about it, and the only thing they did was forward my complaint to Doordash to respond to. read more

The French toast and waffles are bottomless! Granola-encrusted toast with powdered sugar on top and WARMED syrup, sugar free or regular? Holy moly, I think I'm going to love this place. When I go to a new town, I always try to sample any local specialties or signature restaurant. In Baltimore, I had to have Pit Beef; in Pittsburgh I had to go to Primantis. So when I found myself in Cincinnati, I had to sample Goetta. (I had already tried Skyline Chili in Columbus, Ohio). For those uninitiated, Goetta is a meatloafy type of thing that is apparently served as a breakfast meat in and around Cincinnati. They apparently swear by it. I called the chain restaurants near the Hotel we were at, but none of them featured Goetta on their menus. i was told that you find the local delicacy at "local" restaurants. But, alas, there were evidently no "local" joints near our Hotel. I consulted Yelp, and the one place that popped up was closed. Damn. I figured that I would have to sample Goetta at another time. But... The previous evening, the Wife and I went out to get a few fountain drinks from McDonalds, and we glimpsed a sign for a place called "House Of Cigar". Something about that name made us giggle. The next morning, as we drove through McDonalds to get our Diet Cokes for the road, we again saw the "House Of Cigar" sign again, good for another laugh. But THIS time, in the daylight I saw a sign that said "Scrambler Marie's". A breakfast joint if I ever saw one. I crossed past the highway entrance ramp and found a nice looking coffee shop. As Wife waited in the car, I entered the place to inquire if they had the elusive local delicacy. I didn't even had to ask, for on the luminescent "specials" board, there it was: "Goetta and Eggs" Eureka!! The Breakfast was above average, with fine service. And the Goetta? A little anti-climactic. It's ground Pork or Beef with steel-cut oats, in a loaf that is sliced, and given the griddle treatment. It tasted very much like what my Ma used to stuff green peppers with. Actually a little bland. Meat and grain, without much seasoning. OK then. Maybe this wasn't the "good" Goetta. Like sometimes you find crappy Oscar Mayer sausage at breakfast joints. Or RC Cola instead of Coke/Pepsi. (RC can be good in a bottle, but fountain RC is vile). I don't know. If I get to Cincinnati again, I'll try Goetta if it's on the menu, but chances are I'll be having a 5-way at Skyline. read more

Maybe a 3.5 star... this was formerly a Perkins. I really wanted to like it, but the meal fell short of my expectations. The servers seemed to spend more time socializing with each other. It was a slow Monday morning in their defense. There seemed to be tag teaming and wasn't certain who my server was at first. My server Hope did shine through once I tracked her down to inform her my Big Country breakfast was served with eggs over hard vs over easy. The cook tried to tell her the gravy on top makes them hard? No pal... they were hard from the bottom up. Why is there always the need to find an excuse vs an apology and learn from a mistake. Hope certainly turned my experience to a 4 star with her apology and a $2 discount on my entree. This is a franchise and the Scrambler Marie's started in Toledo. They do have a great Fall Special menu... (see pictures) If I was to order the big country again I'd request the eggs atop, as I love to see the ooze. read more

Veggie quinoa breakfast bowl?! YES PLEASE! My fiance and i were staying overnight on the north side/Sharonville area of Cincinnati and I wasn't expecting much in the area for breakfast, but I was pleasantly surprised with Scramblers! After a brief wait on Saturday morning, we were greeted by a very sweet waitress who quickly brought our coffee and took our orders. My fiance ordered the Toast of France and an order of biscuits and gravy and i ordered the Veggie Quinoa Bowl. The food came out quick and looked so good. The gravy was some of the best I've had while dining out. My quinoa bowl was so much food, I had to take 1/2 home. When he finished his French Toast, the waitress asked him if he wanted a refill... A REFILL!? Apparently, all their griddle items are all you can eat! He declined since it was already a ton of food they brought out, but good to know for those going here with a large appetite! read more

Last Thursday I yelped breakfast/brunch spots because I wanted to try someplace new and stumbled upon this place. The parking lot was full and quite a few people inside. I was greeted and seated quickly. My waitress, Sam, was nice, quick and efficient. I heard many patrons say: "I'll see y'all next week" or "Yes I'll take my regular", which is always a good thing. I ordered the spicy baja breakfast burrito with fresh fruit. It was delicious. I was impressed at how fresh the fruit was since it's hard to get that kind of fresh fruit in the winter. I gave this place four stars because despite everything else the decor isn't the greatest but the place isn't dirty and that's always a plus. I'll make a visit back in the future. read more

I don't even need a menu anymore, I get the same thing every time. The Classic. Includes 3 eggs, your choice of meat, hash browns, and 2 pancakes. All for under $10. You get so much food for cheap. I ate there all the time till i got super sick after I ate there. I got really bad stomach cramps had to go to the bathroom like 10 times in 5 hours. I've gave it another chance since then I always get the same thing. Uncle moose manhandler breakfast bowl. It was okay. We always go somewhere as a family whenever we are all together. We use to go there. But we as a group haven't been since I got sick. I been back with a friend since then got something different this time it was avocado toast. Went today at 12:00 and was seated by a young lady. The server a male covered in tattoos came to greet us. That's really all we got out of him.Took better than ten minutes to get drinks. Gave him our order he brought out partially cooked bacon. When he took it back he never gave us a replacement bacon. Near the end of our meal I asked another male server to get our server. When I ask our server about the bacon he walks away and return with some burnt bacon. At this point we were done eating and just wanted to pay the bill. I didn't need to find him for that. I told him that we should not have to pay for the bacon and he asked Why! Are you serious? I believe we were discriminated against due to the color of our skin. He help all the white just refused to give us service. We spent $69.00 in there today. I have been to a lot of your restaurants in different states and cities and have never experienced this before. Came here for my first time since I've lived in Cincinnati. They have a pretty large menu with a variety of things to eat. I had the American classic and it was pretty delicious. The service was great and attentive. This is a great place for family brunch or breakfast. My whole meal was $8. I will def be back to try some more items on the menu. read more

I've had this before at their Perrysburg location growing up. Overall it was a good experience. I ordered the classic with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. It was delicious. Bacon was a little crispy, but still tasty. We had a party of 8 and waited a little longer than what they originally told us, but no big deal. Four people with us ordered the cold brew and every person was very disappointed. However, they took all the coffees off the bills which was great. There was a table very close to us with a large group and one of their people were basically sitting backwards, but the head of our table. It was somewhat awkward. I ordered the Eggs Benedict meal and it was awesome!!! They made their hollandaise sauce just like my mom makes..FRESH!! Not like the powdered stuff you add water too...yuck. Slow Service & Mediocre Food: My wife and I tried SM's for a late breakfast on President's Day for our first - and my last - visit, although my wife said it was "not bad". The restaurant had a very small number of occupied tables at 10:30am and three servers, so I saw no reason for such slow service. The server was friendly, just not attentive. I had the Zesty Smokehouse Sandwich ($7.29) with Hashbrowns plus a Pancake on the side ($2.99). The food was mediocre at best, but might have been better had it been served hot instead of warm. My wife had Rocky Top Toast ($7.49) which was of the same general quality as my breakfast. Add a cup of overly sweet, lukewarm Hot Chocolate ($2.99) and the meal came to $21.57 before tip. Yes, the menu has more variety than most other breakfast spots and, yes, the portion sizes were generous, but it doesn't make a difference if the service is slow and the food quality is below average. read more
