Slow Service & Mediocre Food: My wife and I tried SM's for a late breakfast on President's Day for our first - and my last - visit, although my wife said it was "not bad". The restaurant had a very small number of occupied tables at 10:30am and three servers, so I saw no reason for such slow service. The server was friendly, just not attentive. I had the Zesty Smokehouse Sandwich ($7.29) with Hashbrowns plus a Pancake on the side ($2.99). The food was mediocre at best, but might have been better had it been served hot instead of warm. My wife had Rocky Top Toast ($7.49) which was of the same general quality as my breakfast. Add a cup of overly sweet, lukewarm Hot Chocolate ($2.99) and the meal came to $21.57 before tip. Yes, the menu has more variety than most other breakfast spots and, yes, the portion sizes were generous, but it doesn't make a difference if the service is slow and the food quality is below average. read more

This location is literally a hidden gem. Went here recently with friends for brunch this past Saturday. The restaurant has plenty of room inside and was not packed at all that day. There were so many options on the menu, which made the process of choosing that much difficult. I ended up with the Spicy Baja Breakfast Burrito. So yummy. I want eggs Benedict. All the time. Yes as I type this, you know what I want. Scramblers offers an Eggs Benedict. I ordered it and ate. It was fine. Hamish breakfast meats instead of Canadian bacon but whatever it tasted good. The hashbrowns were under done, the home style potatoes were better. We ordered a side of Goetta, pronounced get-uh. This is a sausage/beef/pin head oat paste fried up 1/2" thick. It's a fine breakfast meat in an Amish, one piece of sausage will feed my whole village, kind of way. The kids ordered pancakes which they inhaled. The coffee was nice but nothing special. We spent around $40 for breakfast for 4 (2 kids/2 adults) not crazy expensive but not on the cheap end either. With a name like Smucker's, it has to be good, right? Well, with a name like Scrambler's, you should know how to cook eggs. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Over easy eggs are pretty easy to cook. Crack the egg on the griddle. Wait a bit. Flip it over. Wait a bit more. The waiting part is the trick. The timing is very important. When they brought my eggs I could immediately tell they were not right. The white was severely undercooked. It was clear all around the yolk and most of the distance from the yolk. These eggs should have never left the kitchen. To add to it, I ordered bacon as a side and ordered it crispy. The bacon was not crispy and one of the three pieces was also undercooked. Not nearly as bad as the eggs, but not cooked to any level of "crispy". At the time I sat down I was the only person in the restaurant. This was not a "rush" mistake. The cook had to prepare three eggs for one order. That was it. Not much of an excuse to get it wrong. By the time I left others had come into the restaurant. The conversations with the waitress indicated they were regulars. I cannot imagine having a set of regular customers if the food quality was always this bad. Got to give them the benefit of the doubt for that. But I can only review my experience. The waitress was very nice and the coffee was really good. They did comp my ticket for the eggs. I was in a bit of a hurry so I did not request new eggs, which I'm sure they would have prepared for me. I would most likely not go to this Scramblers again. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My favorite breakfast spot. The food is fantastic. My favorites are the potato chunks and chocolate chip pancakes. The service is super friendly and on-the-ball. My daughter has a severe allergy to peanuts, tree nuts, sesame and poppy seeds. We told our server about it and she went to speak to the chef. He came out to talk to us and said he would personally cut fruit for her and make a brand new batch of waffle batter and clean the waffle iron to make sure no risk of cross contamination. How have I not known about this place until now? And I love pancakes!! Came for a Sunday brunch and ordered the spinach/portabello omelette with a pancake as the side. The omelette was a perfect size (4 eggs) with a excellent egg/mushroom/spinach ratio in that there was some spinach and mushroom in every bite. Much better than other breakfast places that give 1 leaf and 1 mushroom stem and call it a gourmet omelette. The omelette had quite a bit of cheese on it so next time, I'll ask them to not add the cheese or maybe reduce it by half. But the omelette was still quite good. The hash browns were fantastic. I actually had ordered the potatoes but got the hash browns. Whatever, they were surprisingly tasty so that was a happy accident. And then there was the pancake side where you can substitute the bread for a pancake for a little extra. That was an excellent choice. The pancake is super fluffy and when combined with the butter/syrup is as good as the best pancake that I've ever had. The service was a little spotty. Our server took the order promptly but forgot to bring milk for my wife (she had to ask 3 times) and then they mixed up where the orders went. Not huge deals but it was noticeable. All in all, I'd definitely come back to have more pancakes and to try more omelettes. The menu is so humongous that it would probably take me 5 years to go thru menu if I went every sunday. We used to come here regularly but hadn't been in about a year. Sadly in that time period the food quality has gone downhill. Nothing was seasoned, food was bland. I ordered pancakes and while they looked fine, I took my first bite and they tasted burnt so I turned them over and they were way overdone. Nice of the cook to try to hide that. Service was okay at best. The restaurant needs a good clean and some updating. Won't be going back. read more
