Pleasantly surprised with Scrath's oven brick pizza. I love the market overall and love that I have a decent pizza choice near by since I am in walking distance. I thought the dough would be too thin and soggy buuut IT WAS NOT. I did a to go order so I didn't have the chance to sit down and enjoy but looking forward to going back and sitting at the counter. I got the pizza special, which came with garlic confit, fontina cheese, potatoes, pea shoots, artichoke, bacon (which I omitted), black garlic, and microgreens and split the black garlic knots with a friend. The dough was thin and tasted pretty good, although a few parts of my pizza were a bit too charred. It was a very filling pizza and tasted great but got a little salty over time, probably because of the cheese. The garlic knots were nice and doughy, which two types of garlic sauces on top. I do wish they came with some sort of dipping sauce/marinara sauce. You get 5 for $5. Plenty of seating. They give boxes for leftover pizza. They give cups for water if you ask but don't have a tap (they recommended filling water up at a water fountain nearby). read more

Really good, thin crust, wood fired pizza. I had tomato pie. Theirs is a homemade tomato sauce with fresh herbs and thinly sliced garlic. The high heat of the oven roasts the garlic leaving only the best flavor from it. The sauce has that fresh tomato flavor. The crust had awesome char from the oven, but still had a good chew. When at the public market we usually grab some brick oven pizza from Scratch. Our favorite pizza is the garlic 3 ways, a white pizza with ricotta topped with their famous black garlic sauce. Today we wanted to try a red pizza so got a bacon pizza, it was a really good brick oven pizza but my favorite still remains the garlic three ways. We also tried the black garlic knots, they were pretty good to the dough was perfectly cooked. If your in the mood for brick oven pizza, they make a nice pie worth trying. read more

First time visiting the Easton public market. We got the regular pizza 1/2 cheese 1/2 bacon toppings. So it is a thin crust but it was not cooked enough and was doughy. The sauce itself is ok but could be sweeter. . We also got the Sicilian slice . It was cooked fine but while I do like garlic it was alittle over powering for my tastes. Beers were ok. There is plenty of seating and they do take cash or credit. It was a nice place and there is a parking garage right next to their entrance . Scratch has to be the best part of the Easton Public Market. There's beer, there's pizza, there's bread: the three major food groups. I've tried a good amount of their offerings, and the staff is friendly. They've always got a couple of ShawneeCraft beers on tap and every time I walk over I'm excited to see what new pizza offering they have for the day. The pizza that made me fall in love with the place was a special that had apples, spicy chorizo and asiago cheese... My mind was blown. Their regular offerings are fantastic, too. Everything seems locally sourced and that crust is incredible. As far as local pizza spots go, this is hands down the best. Only downside? The hours they're open. It closes pretty early, which is a shame when you're having a late night craving. When you're there, check out the garlic knots and the coppa, or get a special (preferably one with a ricotta stuffed handle). read more

The dough was under cooked. The pizza was a pale white color. It should have had a dark and bubbly crust. It was very bland. The sauce was sweet and the sausage was sliced. You always serve crumpled sausage on pizzas. The three women workers looked miserable. The one had her mask sagging and the other kept it below her chin. We can't do dairy, so to find vegan options can sometimes be difficult. $12 for an 11" pizza was fair, the pizza was decent, thin crust with Daiya cheese. Not bad but nothing spectacular either. Nicely spiced with oregano thyme and rosemary. The sauce was nice. The only disappointment was the girl taking our order. My friend asked for light on the sauce and herbs and the clerk snidely remarked "ugh I feel like I'm writing a book" Maybe she was having a bad day, but there was literally one other customer there and she wasn't busy at all. Actually just finished lunch. We sat at the bar and were explained the many offerings by a nice girl. She seemed to know all about what was offered, and the local ingredients. It's nice to know where everything comes from. That being said, there was most likely the DIMMEST girl working with her...so bad that when another patron asked for red pepper flakes, the patron had to tell her what those were. Then, this poor girl proceeded to make the patron wait while she asked permission to have the patron USE the red pepper flakes...um...This girl legitimately wandered around the kitchen holding a pizza cutter and looking lost..which is a dangerous combination. That being said. The pizza was delicious! Having been to multiple fresh pizza restaurants in the area, we had high hopes, and were so impressed. The ingredients are all fresh, and the sauce was awesome. Best crust I've had in a while. I have to take away a star for the water. I don't drink, so I asked for water and was given a 3/4 filled pint glass with lukewarm water from the tap. And something was up because I took a few sips and had to stop. The chlorine taste of the water started to worry me and take away from the pizza. We came to the market after a visit to the Crayola Experience on Saturday, Feb 22nd. My husband and son wanted pizza and the rest of the group went to other vendors. They purchased 2 pizzas, and were given a buzzer. After 25 minutes my husband went to check on the order and they had no record of it. How that's possible with a receipt, order # and buzzer is beyond me. They gave us a credit on our credit card that we never received. I've called to request our refund and haven't heard back. $26 and no pizza this is extremely frustrating. read more

Pizza and beer are still great. However, it is kinda funny how sometimes the pizza is better than other times based on who's making it. My biggest hang up is what has happened to the service. The servers are way more interested in what's happening on their phone than helping the customers. You can walk up and sit at the bar for 15 minutes and not be acknowledged because some millennial behind the counter is too busy texting back and forth with their friend. There was one dark haired girl that is/was the exception, but we haven't seen her in the past month, leading us to believe she may have quit. She was excellent and extremely efficient at her job. Not pizza joint pizza (not that there's anything wrong with that- Gino's is almost next door for that, as well as My New Place Pizza up the road and plenty of others) but a very special artisan type of homemade pie. Very thin crispy crust, you won't be leaving any leftovers. If you've ever been to Juliana's in Brooklyn, this is almost like that, without the Brooklyn prices. Best pizza in Lehigh valley!! We are very particular and only eat authentic Italian pizza, and their pizza is amazing. From the crust, to the perfectly sweet sauce and the fresh mozzarella. The only tip I have is the margherita could use a tad more cheese, it can sometimes be scant even for authentic Italian pizza. Grabbed a seat at their bar last night and was not disappointed. Not only were the beer and pizza excellent, so was the atmosphere. I have to give a shout out to the young blonde (partially shaved head) bartender/ server. She had a difficult customer who was telling her that the coffee was too pricey and that he could find a better cup at McDonalds (gross). Instead of blowing him off, she patiently listened and graciously explained how coffee comes from different regions and everyone's tastes are different, etc. etc. I was really impressed with how she handled it.
