This installation worked out great for me. I've saved a couple of hundred dollars this year on cooling bills over the summer. However, the real reason to put these in was because my AC couldn't keep up with the brutal heat, especially my upstairs. I used Screenmobile of Dallas to install 24 solar screens on the south and west facing sides of my house. For those in hurry, they did an outstanding job. The crew came in and made custom screens, including round and half-moon shapes in just a day. I would recommend them to anyone. Longer story. Pricing/quote: I found them to be in the middle of the pack from a pricing perspective. (I had three bids) However, my low bid looked like a lowball that would cost me more later. If I don't count that bid, then Screenmobile gave me the lowest reasonable bid. The final bill matched the quote. There was no "we ran into some issues and here's a higher price" shenanigans. I paid what they quoted. They quote per window which worked out fine. I have a lot of geometric shapes and sizes and it allowed me to decide what windows I should do. Screen characteristics: They had a full color palette of 80% and 90% screens. We went with the 90% in a black/brown color to blend in with my brick siding. They work great in cutting the sunlight and heat from warming up my house. If you look at the pictures, you can see I have a lot of window square footage. The quality of the screen material and frames is great. Only time will tell how well they hold up. From a user perspective, they have some potential drawbacks. With 90%, they do cut down on a lot of sunlight. I'm not saying they work like blackout curtains, but there is a noticeable loss of light. If you have dark rooms, these will make them darker. The other issue is when it rains, the water stays in the screens blocking your view outside. Our weather mostly comes from the SW, so the rain hits directly on the screens. It dries fine, but some may find it disconcerting. BTW, these issues are characteristics of the actual screen and does not reflect on the installer. Work crew: The team was very professional and meticulous. I have some weird shaped windows and they were able to cover them with no problem. Workmanship looks great. Everything is lined up as it should be without any major gaps. The crew was easy to deal with. They managed to put in several large screens behind trees that my predecessor decided to plant right next to the house. While trimmed, it was not an easy install. Support: I had one screen partially pop out. I called them and scheduled a tech to fix it. They were there in few days and fixed it at no charge. The people in the office were great. They always responded to questions very quickly, either by phone or text. Screenmobile of Dallas did a great job and I would gladly recommend them to anyone that's considering solar screens, or any type of screen work. There are two Screenmobiles. Their website claims they do custom screens. "Any need. Any place. Any screen." So, I submitted a request for a quote. Eric replied very quickly, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. But his response was kind of whack. I wrote a short paragraph explaining my needs for a screen door on french doors, stating that a retractable screen seemed like a good one but that I am open to suggestions. I was hoping to get somebody out here so I could better explain the situation and my needs and that they could suggest some kind of custom solution. Nope. Instead I got an email reply of: "Retractable probably will not work. It is a floating screen and a cat could slide under it Eric" Okay. So I replied and asked if they have any other suggestions... and I get this response: "I don't really for interior doors? Eric" Alright. First, if the claim is they do custom doors for any need and any place, then why does it matter if the doors lead to the outside or are interior? I need a screen door to keep cats separated and still allow them to see/hear/smell one another. Their website claims to have reinforced screens for pets so I thought for sure they would have something to fit my needs. Second, I had another project I would've inquired about (screen doors for the porch) but I never got a chance to because of the abrupt shutdown I got for the first inquiry ha. Do not do business with this company. I hired them off of a google search and was not home when they installed 2 new screens and repaired 4 screens. It hasn't been even 60 days since their service, which I told them not to even repair one of the screens if the dog could possibly scratch it and they did anyway and charged me for it. The company came to my home, trespassed, and stole 10 full screens and vandalized another one. I have witnesses. Be careful! I just bought a condo and needed new window screens for my entire home. I found this business on Yelp and decided to call. I gave all my info to a gentleman who answers my call. He told me they were pretty booked buy could squeeze me in. He scheduled me for 4/19 and said he would call back to confirm the date. Three days to by and I didn't hear from anyone. I called back to find out my info was not in their system and I was not scheduled. The young lady scheduled me for the same day. A little irritating but I needed this done asap. They send their technician Eric out. He was professional, polite and very quick. He made 5 screens total and installed them. Quick and easy. Starting right out I will recommend Screenmobile for any screen work needed. My project was a replacement screen job for my 30 year old screened porch. This porch is 8' x 50' and is a sizable job to remove the old screen and install new screen cloth and cedar trim. After several estimates Eric with Screenmobile made the best one with excellent time and cost. After I approved their estimate and agreed on the time the crew showed up on time and began work. Over the course of the past year, I have done 3 separate projects with ScreenMobile in Richardson and have been beyond pleased with all 3 projects. (Hence the repeat business) The short version: The quality of service and product this company provides is close to perfect! Definitely one of the best contractor experiences I have had. The long version: - The installation of our solar window screens and motorized patio screens was flawless and better than expected, as the product quality and performance has been. - We had 2, potential, warranty issues, 1 out of the box defective/manufacturing the other user error. Without hesitation, Eric went above and beyond in both instances to correct the issue. - The prices are very reasonable. I collected 4 bids for the first project and ScreenMobile was not even close to the highest. (but also not the cheapest... you get what you pay for!) - All appointments and installations scheduled were kept, with timely arrival and outcome exactly as expected/discussed. - Office staff, installation crew (including sub-contractor) and owner are always courteous, professional and extremely pleasant to work with. Over the span of 20 months from estimate to completion I have been working with the same 5-7 employees. Low employee turnover is a good sign in my opinion. - They are very tidy and respectful of your home. Cleaned up completely after each project. I've learned the hard way this is a rare but frequently overlooked important quality with contractors. - Getting an Estimate & on the schedule indeed was not a quick 24 hr turnaround nor a perfect process as others mentioned in previous reviews. If you can be patient with getting on the schedule and through the quoting phase, you will not be disappointed! They are a small company, and there are only so many hours in a day. They seem to be sensitive to over committing themselves and over promising, which I find respectable. I am basing this review on not even getting a quote... Not though through lack of trying. First of all I provided my address and phone number but the person contacted me via email without any of the other information including my address which he requested that I sent. no answer so I sent it a second time finally got an answer but his answer concerned me he could probably yes probably be there between one and two on Wednesday... OK really and I should probably take off work to meet him if he probably comes? Then the Day before the appointment I get a confirmation email to confirm between 10 and 12! If this sloppy communications, and ability to give me an exact time, and then confirming with me a time that is 3 to 4 hours off our original time is an indication of the quality, craftsmanship or timeliness of their work... I will look elsewhere. based on that I cannot recommend this company to anyone is app response from owner was poor his business skills are poor. Smart hour. read more

Eric was very honest about the additional cost of this door because of additional framework required to fill out around the frame.
