This cafe has a nice calming but lively environment. The decor is pretty and monochromatic with pops of color here and there. The food is yummy! I came with a friend that suggested Scripts Cafe and I'm already ordering food to go after finishing my meal! I ordered the "pick 2" with a half Bruno Panini and half Muscato Salad. The half size panini is surprisingly small! You get much more salad then you do panini, but it's only $7.50 plus tax. So it's still worth it. I also got a cup of water and ordered a tall Lavender Fields Forever drink. Per the description, it's their signature lemonade with Lavender simple syrup added. I immediately tasted mint. I do not like mint at all. So that was surprising. I asked an employee if they put mint in this drink and they said it's already infused in the lemonade, so yes. I clarified if they put mint in their lemonade and she said yes. So now I know and so do you! The Lavender Fields Forever lemonade was still good, but I couldn't drink the entire thing because of the mint flavor. I tasted more mint than I did Lavender or lemonade. The chips that you can get with your meal instead of mixed greens are good, but I prefer the greens. They're fresh and healthy. The only thing that annoyed me was on my second visit I ordered the Muscato salad again, but asked for extra green onions and extra cilantro. When I got my food, I realized shortly after I started eating my salad that they didn't put any sesame seeds in it (which is supposed to come on and it did last time), but I wasn't bothered too much by it although I was missing the seeds. After we left I was finishing my Yelp review and looked at pics I had already uploaded and realized they didn't add the AVOCADO either. So then I was really annoyed and mad actually. It seems like the chef decided to take 2 ingredients out because I asked for more of 2 ingredients. Either that or the chef forgot. Either way, that's annoying. But def check this place out! Want to know why Scripts' Tomato Basil soup sells out all the time?! Well, let me tell you: it is *almost* chicken parm in a bowl. Just add the chicky chicky. The creator of this soup has managed to find the perfect ratio of fresh tomato to herbs to cheese to crouton. It makes you feel cozy on a cool day and makes you want hot soup during the dog days. I'll take a bathtub full for one, please. Other favorites from Scripts: The Drewski and the Southwest Chicken Wrap. When I am in a bind for time or when I open my fridge to cook and see only an empty jar of jam and a half eaten yogurt staring back at me, I call Scripts. My go-to is the Drewski sandwich. It tastes sinful but it has avocado, so you know you did something right for the day. The fresh ciabatta grips deli turkey, crispy bacon, cold tomato, and creamy avocado slices. I can eat half of the sandwich and save the rest for my next meal, but usually, I enjoy stuffing my face until I hate myself. The southwest chicken wrap is also delicious. Grilled chicken, corn and black bean salsa, tomato, romaine, cheddar, and BBQ ranch (yes, BBQ ranch, yum), are cocooned in a wrap for your southwestern enjoyment. The dressing paired with the corn and bean salsa give this entree a smoky, sweeter flavor rather than hot and spicy so when you bring your family members for lunch and Aunt Mary is afraid of the heat, let her know she's safe with this one. For those of you whose gps is as against helping you find non-chain cafes as ours is, it's next to the theater. After a few wrong turns, we gave up and parked and walked through the blazing sun only to find the place packed with customers, and a line. My heart sank. We left, strolled around town a bit, trying to find a new lunch spot. But alas, my heart, and stomach, cried out. We swung back an hour later to find the rush had died down and we came inside. Staring at the giant overhead menu we finally settled on what we wanted to order. I got the Schratz with a side salad, which was drizzled in some sort of unlabeled dressing. Hungry from the wait, I shoved the wrap in my face to relish in the Albacore tuna, avocado, hard boiled egg mashup. All delicious foods, especially when harmonizing in a spinach pita. My lovely companion was diving headfirst into some chicken wrap (I was too busy taking in the atmosphere to catch the name) and kettle chips. Not too shabby for 7 buckaroos. Free wifi, which is a plus because it was too noisy to hold a conversation. Almost too noisy to hear them call your order name. Came to pick up an order for take out. ordered two Rachel's and two Matthews. waited 15 minutes and paid $45 in total. Realized after we had left that we received two matthews and two scully's. When we went back we brought this up to the front staff. They explained that the Rachel was not on the menu anymore..if it was not on the menu anymore why wouldn't this be brought to our attention when we originally ordered? Instead of them apologizing and correcting the order they charged us $20 for two more sandwiches and told us they couldn't take back the two we did not want. I understand that they could not take them back but to charge us for your mistake does not make sense to me. Let alone not even apologizing at all. Very cute little cafe in Lockport. Love that Lockport is getting new up to date restaurants. They have wraps and paninis and salads with fresh baked goods as well. Whats great is that for the wraps they have multiple different types including what,tomato and even a garlic and herb one. So many different options as well for each style of food. The soups are superior and there is a full selection of non alcoholic beverages. They have a true Italian Espresso Machine. The coffee and tea selections are first rate, no shortcuts. Great quality food with a very large menu that is worth the slightly higher price point than the median cafe in the area. I've tried a couple different wraps, salads and the classic BLT (on sourdough) here and all have been A+. Service is typically friendly, but expect to wait a few mins as it's usually steadily busy. I've been eating here for a few years off and on. Some of the issues I had in the past seem to have been resolved but one thing remains consistent...their bacon is always crispy and practically burnt. If you're getting it on a sandwich it crumbles out and ends up in bits all over your plate. Seems pretty pointless to put it on there when it's just going to crumble off. I also don't know anyone that likes their bacon pretty much rock hard. I don't want greasy floppy bacon but this is nearly unedible. Lately I've been just removing it altogether and giving it to my dogs. Their food is decent, kind of pricey, but it's good. I don't like Torani syrups but if you like them then their drinks are good. On busy days it's hard to find a seat but we usually take food to go and eat at home since we live close by. The one thing that REALLY irks me about this place is that they are using styrofoam takeout containers. Thankfully it's a rare thing these days, but I really hope they get with the times and stop using them. I was also surprised to get our food to go in a plastic bag...we live in NY and there is a plastic bag ban so I'm not sure how or why they are using them at all. read more

What a little gem! So due to Covid closing most Erie county restaurant dining rooms, we picked this place for a dine-in bday lunch spot since it had great reviews. What a great experience from the minute we walked in to leaving. Super friendly staff greet you and are cheerful behind the counter. Food is exxxcellent. Bake goods are killer. We had the raspberry braided pastry, huge croissant, the chicken tomatillo soup, the Matthew grilled chicken panini, the Chicken pesto wrap.. even my side ceaser salad had more damn chicken on it.. drinks were the reg ice coffee and the ginger molasses macchiato. You could come here for the coffee alone. Every single thing was incredibly good, like it's one of those cafe spots where you could easily stop in every day for at least something. Cozy comfortable inside, rustic, industrial finishes, but still bright and very spacious feeling. 25 miles away and we will without a doubt be back. read more

When I was younger, I used to want to date a Scripter. There are a lot of Scripters in the USA, and they are usually exceptionally attractive and wild and perhaps even a little superficial, generally speaking, in terms of choosing their boyfriends (or girlfriends). Which makes it a challenge. I later realized that it's not a good idea to date people based in any way on their profession of choice. And plus, I am not someone that likes to go to Script clubs, so I didn't meet nearly as many Scripters as some of my friends did. I still think Scripters are awesome though. The reason I never hire Lockport-based actors to star in my movies and Broadway plays, is because they are always forgetting about scripts. They deviate from Scripts so often, for example, while having lunch at One Eyed Jack's (not my fave) or Sunny's (it's always Philadelphia at Sunny's). And I am saying, listen guys, creative expression is all well and good, but if you're being paid to use Scripts, then use Scripts. Certainly, this little sandwich shop doesn't get the credit it deserves. It also doesn't get the debit it deserves. People use cash for the most part. I had lunch with Darren here back in 1996, or was it a week ago, I can't remember. Either way, it was a great place to have a long chat about everything from the New York Yankees to the Green Bay Packers, and we also talked about sports too, in between. Darren is one of the few people I know from Buffalo who have made the pilgrimage to Lambeau Field. If you go to the Yelp page for Frozen Tundra, you'll see a bunch of Wisconsin cheeseheads giving it 5/5 with a few Chicagoans and Minnesotans giving it 1 or 2 just to be spiteful, and then you'll see Darren and I raving about it, all the way from not-anywhere-near-Green-Bay. Actually my ex lives in Green Bay. But I'm digressing. I had the chicken breast sandwich (it has a fancy name, I can't remember it), and it was good. A lot of people love the club sandwich, the Drewski, the Matthew (which is close to what I had). It's fairly cheap and very friendly and has a nice atmosphere, nice intimate cozy seating, and a nice restroom. It is very clean and new. They offer salad or chips with sandwiches, I chose the salad, it was nice. I much prefer the sandwiches at Jonny C's on Transit, but that's not exactly nearby (it's quite a trek down Transit to North French from Lockport), and I actually prefer the atmosphere here. Great place to go for lunch. They have soups, salads, wraps, panini's and sandwiches. Lots of variety and something for everyone. I decided to get a cup of tomato basil soup and split a pesto basil chicken wrap with my friend. The cup of soup was almost enough to fill me up for a whole meal so I ate only a portion of the wrap. Both were very good and the soup hit the spot since it was a cold day. I do have to say it is rather small in there which is the only downfall. Great little spot to grab a decent priced, tasty meal! A fellow Yelper asked what I had thought of Scripts since he had read my review of Sweet Sixteen and I had to admit that I had never heard of it. But I was glad he asked because I'm always scouting out new places to eat and Lockport has some really cute newer eateries! Brought my parents here for lunch. The cafe sits to the east of the Palace Theater. We parked down the street and walked over. The interior of the cafe is pretty small even with the separate dining area and the furniture is kind of old and rickety. I loved that they had paper menus available along with their menu written on chalkboard walls. It was easier for me and my senior aged parents to read the paper menu than the boards. We ordered our lunches. They each got the Scripts Club and I got the chicken pesto wrap, all with greens on the side, though they have chips as an option. My dad and I each got a cup of the cream of mushroom soup and my mom got the tomato basil. At the end of our meal, we split a coconut lime cookie, an orange cookie, and a s'mores brownie. Everything was WONDERFUL. The soups were so good. I loved the cream of mushroom but loved the tomato even more! Everything had so much delicious flavor. My wrap was really tasty with roasted red peppers and feta... Yum yum yum! The Scripts Club was VERY tasty too. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. The desserts were also very good and homemade. The s'mores brownie (hello! It's a s'mores brownie!) was my fave even though it was messy since the gram crust on the bottom just crumbled. The food was all so so good! The drink situation was okay- all bottled choices. Would be great if they offered like house-brewed iced tea, homemade lemonade, etc. Some more unique options than just bottled Pepsi products. Called ahead because I was in the area and ordered a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. As usual this place is right on point. The coffee is delicious and the breakfast sandwich was exactly what I wanted. I ordered the Botkins on rye! Eggs over easy. It's a little messy but worth it. During this crazy COVID-19 time the restaurant was quieter than normal but the service was fantastic and pleasant and quick.
