Love the local diner vibe here. Smaller dining room, but great for parties of 6 or less. There is a counter that was packed by the time we left and holds 10 or so more. The service isn't super fast, but who needs that if you want to sit and talk for a bit with your friends! I ordered the eggs in a nest, which I love how the over easy eggs break and seep into the hash browns, but I would have loved for the hash browns to have been seasoned with something. As always, we tried the pancakes and they were the fluffiest I've had in a long time and they were delicious. Good pancakes are harder to find than they should be! My husband ordered the stuffed pepper breakfast and he really enjoyed that. I had a taste and would definitely order this. Their menu is surprisingly large and it's amazing they are only open for breakfast and lunch with such a variety. We'll be back to try more out and bring some friends with us. read more

Tried this local family diner for breakfast. As true as a diner should be. Service was fast and the food was phenomenal. Breakfast is hard to screw up, but for some reason a lot of places can't do it right. Black coffee was really good, and the skillet was equally as delicious. My wife really enjoyed the homemade hash. Very cozy and welcoming, one of my favorite diners in the area. Will be becoming a regular here. read more

DELICIOUS. A new favorite restaurant for breakfast and is quickly becoming a weekly staple for my husband and I! I get the eggs in a nest and it comes out cooked perfectly and quickly each time. The coffee is tasty (only regular creamer so if you like flavor, bring your own like me). Great portion sizes. This diner should've received a higher review - the service was fast (on a busy holiday Sunday), servers were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was tasty (even though they got my order wrong - the bacon scramble was still very good). The fresh fruit is fresh and the coffee kept on coming. Now for the lack of the 5 star review...Trump, gun, anti-Joe Biden propaganda all of the bar. Mike Pence interview playing on TV. Me and my friend needed find a breakfast spot between Rochester and where I live. This place was very cozy, I was especially enchanted by Betty Boop wall. Very friendly and nice staff. Your coffee cup will always be full. I'd highly recommend. P.S. Additionally - probably one of few places where you actually get nice and fresh fruit, not saggy half rotten stuff like some place serve in Buffalo NY. read more

A little throwback to great prices, friendly faces and comforting food! The space is peppered with Betty Boop knick knacks and is filled with aboutb10 tables for customers. We weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised at the menu size. The house specialties for breakfast are a go to. But dont let me steer you, there are plenty of pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, scrambled and even "lighter side" options to keep you coming back! We struck up conversation with the table next to us while we were eating, and found out that the 4th Thursday of every month Marie's does a full on Thanksgiving meal with all the fixins....for 10 bucks. A Polish platter offering is done on the 2nd Thursday for the same price! Our food came out hot, well seasoned and good portion size! Very happy with the meal. The "eggs in a nest" seemed to be the table highlight! My only gripe is that the throwback goes even to payment, so bring cash, unless you want to use the atm on site (because, I rarely carry cash). read more

We stopped for a late breakfast on a Wednesday morning. One other couple held a table in the window and a casually dressed woman perched on a stool at the counter and yapped at the waitress. Coffee and menus were quickly served. Husband ordered a cheeseburger omelet - unseasoned hamburger and cheddar with a few chunks of tomato, onion, and banana peppers inside scorched eggs. I had eggs Benedict made with eggs over hard, not poached. I can't eat runny eggs, so poached is out. I don't know how the cook did it, but one egg was almost hard - enough that I could eat it - and the other was over easy with liquid yolk gushing enthusiastically all over my plate. It wasn't even a little coagulated; it was like fluorescent yellow finger paint. The only saving grace was the Hollandaise, which was rich and lemony and very good. The muffin was lightly toasted and the ham was tender. Although the menu says it comes with home fries or hashbrowns, mine arrived with neither. The waitress caught the error and had the cook fix a plate of homefries. It took him almost 15 minutes and not only did they come out bereft of browning, they were actually al dente. I love little joints like this, but I can't recommend this one. They've either got to replace the cook or close. read more

It's clean small and quaint .. The ambience is nice. Every waitress has been nice,& super fast. It doesn't seem that the cook has a lot of room for preparation so the menu is pretty small however the food is good. You can get anything from oatmeal to steak and eggs bagels, breakfast sandwiches and omelettes. And lunch is homemade soup, burgers, hot or cold sandwiches...They're real good at substituting items on the menu with no extra charge. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and that is a downfall. There's not a lot of restaurants in Alden that serve dinner. Only downfall to the whole place is they only except cash they do not have a debit or credit card machine. They do have an ATM on site but who wants to pay a charge on top of the TIP??? Haven't been there in a while however big shout out to the waitress who was fighting stage four cancer and on her feet working all day and not sitting home collecting disability. read more

They will cook anything to your liking- it's similar to having your own mother cook for you! New specials everyday. $5 meals. Been to many diners over the yrs. while travelling. If you love real home cooked food this place has the down home type breakfast that most of us enjoy! My mother and I noticed this place and decided to try it. So glad we did!!! When we first entered this classic little diner we were greeted by welcoming smiles which you don't often see anywhere in the Buffalo area. We ordered the Mexican Scramble and it was delicious! The review that posted one star must have had the old cook or something because our food was excellent with a choice of hashbrowns,homefries or grits...we chose hashbrowns and they were cooked just right. Not too crispy or al dente. The place is immaculate including the bathrooms. The service was excellent (we had a lady named Barb/SUPER NICE!!!!) She even talked to us for a little bit like country folk like to... which made us feel right at home! I live in Lancaster, NY and I will make the little drive to this diner again soon with my husband and 3 teenage boy's with healthy appetites eagerly behind! They love my cooking but this place gives us all a little convenience and a nice family breakfast/lunch together outside our kitchen.
