Please do not visit this place. I went there to have my iPad repaired. They installed a generic screen, which did not work well. They also installed a generic battery. The volume and power buttons didn't work when I returned. I went back and the tech fixed the volume button but not the power button. ****SCAM ALERT****. The older gentleman who owns this company replaced my screen. He is what you would call a smooth talker that provides rough work. He replaced my iPhone X screen but while doing so he broke two screens which was fine. That was his cost. I noticed he was having a lot of trouble putting in the screen clips. An hour after the repair the screen popped out of the top of the frame and caused my screen to split. I returned and with my receipt and warranty present he stated he doesn't provide warranty work on the labor in which he cannot properly provide in the first place. He said my frame was bent. That why the screen broke. I asked did you notice the first time that it was bent. He said no. I said do you have a tool or a way to show me its bend besides your word. He then just started mumbling. He got very rude and started yelling he's been doing this since 1975. Fixing rotary telephones or iPhones? He made zero since. After taking it to 3 other shops. Including Apple to have them confirm my frame was not bent. No wonder he only takes cash. So he cannot be disputed. Cause this guy would and should be out of business. His already 3.5 stars reflects that. Trash work. Bad business man. And just not a good person to be around. read more

Saw their van at the Mira mesa farmers market a few times and they said they fix tablets so I gave them mine. No receipt just honesty. They got my cover and plug in charger. They could not fix the tablet so my dad picked it up at their store not knowing there was a factory charger and a case. Months later I went to the store. The more was rude and said my things were gone and offered me a USB charger for my broken tablet and they couldn't do anything about my case. Not going there again. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS NOT TO GO HERE, EVER! They butchered my I-pad! 1. Do not do business with anyone who knows that they have a typo on their business card and does nothing about it. That is a direct reflection of the kind of work done! 2. Their shop reeked of pot smoke when I came to pick up my ipad. That brought up a 2nd red flag because of the problems I was having with them. 3. These people are SHADY, including the 2 young women at front desk who scrambled to get their stories straight when I started asking specific questions about who works there etc. I got suckered in by SD Fix It at the Quallcom Wed. swap meet, thinking my Ipad mini screen could be replaced correctly in an hour. 75 minutes later, I am told they "can't fix it here and will take it back to the shop". One thing led to worse; I took it home for $95 the next day with visible gouges in the case, a different colored screen with a scratched up protector! PLUS I was told my ipad 'had to be reset'. That took 24 hrs to redo. The following week I returned it late Thurs. afternoon because I discovered my camera was disabled. Friday, after 2 phone calls to them, I got a 'gut feeling' that I'd made a poor decision and rushed back to rescue my ipad from the evil technician, but was too late. He'd already pried the screen off AND THEN LEFT because of an 'emergency' and didn't finish the job!!! I had never even seen who was working on it. Something didn't feel right, their website doesn't jive with the store scene. The girls were covering up. I had to get a new Ipad. read more

When I notified them of this, I was told they would call me back. After a few days of being given the run around, they stopped taking my calls altogether. Found them first at the Swap Meet. I'm a dummy and dropped my iPhone 5...shattered the screen. They replaced it in about 20 mins for $90. Which is a great price due to the price of a new phone (with insurance) costing about $170. Screen looks great, but there is a small glitch around the "a" and "s" keypad area of the screen. It sometimes doesn't recognize my touch at all, and when it does there are multiples of the same letter, or another letter completely that is entered into the field. I called the Kearny Mesa store (conveniently located right next to my office), and she told me to come in with the card given to me at the swap meet to have it replaced. I'll continue with another review after my visit today... Fingers crossed it works... read more

I called in and asked if they would take Groupon and he said yes, and don't worry about buying it, just stop in and we will take the money that groupon says, so they don't have to pay the fees to Groupon. I drove all the way down there and showed him the Groupon price. I have the 20% off for being a student. He said he no longer would honor it and I need to pay full price now. I was very confused and shocked with his words and was definitely shocked by how unprofessional this business is. Great customer service. Went to Kobey's and got my screen fixed for $50. Looked great only problem was my sound wasn't working. Went back next weekend and the guy looked at it no problem. Turned out some liquid got in there. He cleaned it didn't charge me even though the problem wasn't from fixing the screen. WOULD NEVER USE AGAIN! My samsung galaxy s4 recently stopped responding to the power button on a flight back from Hawaii. Otherwise the phone was working fine. Upon getting back to San Diego, I made the mistake of taking the battery out. Now the phone would not power on. It would start to boot into the spash screen and then acted like the power button was being held down. Being an engineer I said to myself, the humidity and the altitude of the plane must have caused some corrosion in the power switch. Since I dont have the tools to do PLCC or surface mount soldering Ill call SD Fix It and see if they can repair it. They said yes and quoted me a price which I thought was very reasonable (if not cheap), so off I go to drop the phone off. Several days later I get a call saying that "the phone is not repairable, it needs a new logic board from Samsung at approx $150.00". I say dont bother and Ill pickup the phone. Upon returning to my office I check the phone and its still acting as it was before. On further examination it looks like the phone in fact has not been even taken apart as there is still sealant on one of the case screws. hmmm - Did they even look at it? So now I start learning how to take apart my S4. Once Im down to the main circuit board I verify its still doing the same thing. Now come out the handy can of contact cleaner and the can of freeze spray. I clean out the switch, freeze it a few times, blow that out with canned air and let it all dry/defrost. I plug the battery in and press the freshly cleaned power switch and ala - My phone boots and loads fine (its still apart at this time). So Im very disappointed in SD Fix It. Im not sure if they just quoted me too low a number and didnt want to even look at it for that price or were trying to get me to pay for an unneeded logic board. In either case, I dont think I will ever take anything to them again or recommend them to anyone. read more

After a week the phone was having gliching problems (it happens sometimes when u get ur screen fixed) they understood and fixed it no problem. It's good to know that I can come here weeks after they touched my device and will still work on it to make sure I am happy! Not that many places will do that for u. I learned about this place from one of the asian cultural festivals, they had a booth. I brought my iPad 2 in to get it fixed after several failed attempts to fix on my own =( half of the screen was not touch sensitive. The lady in the front was very friendly and answered all the when and how questions I had. One of the guys in the back even did a quick diagnosis and showed me what the possible problem was. I had to come back because they needed another guy to check if it was possible to fix. They followed up and said the original issue was fixed (magically?), but my camera had issues. I was thrilled that my ipad was useable again minus the camera but that's ok. I had my sis pick it up. They didn't charge me anything. Bad work and even worse attitude. We went to the one on Koby's Swap Meet to have an iPad screen replaced. They said they would be done in an hour but when we returned to pick it up, they obviously hadn't even started. So we waited another half an hour. When we returned the second time, the home button didn't work so that needed an additional few minutes. Two days later the home button was malfunctioning again. Back to the Swap Meet and they told us it would take an hour. Seems to be the standard answer. When we returned to pick up the iPad, my husband, just to be sure, asked if everything would be working fine (because returning and waiting is a hassle) and the answer he got was: "Well, you only paid $90" Seriously?? If this is their work and attitude, we would have preferred an honest "$90 is not good enough for professional work, it's going to be a hit and miss for your iPad." right from the beginning. read more

Worst customer SERVICE EVER, not at this particular location but at their ghetto Pop up tent at the sunset Market in Oceanside. My sister went in to have her screen replaced once again by the gentleman with the long pony tail who acted so rude and unprofessional. She had her screen replaced the first time for a cracked screen by the same location but Whoever replaced it did such a piss poor job that the "new" screen developed discolored bubbles along the edges shortly after and went back and asked about the discoloration that same day and they told her they ran out of screens and to return next week. She went back to the same location a week later inquiring about a replacement screen, only to be told that they are out of stock again. She went in today to see if they can fix the problem and with telling them of the problem, the gentleman rudly took the phone. Didn't give a time frame of when it will be ready. So we went ahead and walked the market and left her cell so that they can fix their messy job. When they returned my sister told the gentleman she was there to pick up her cell and they just said they were swamped and when asked for at least a time frame because there were many other customers ahead of her he just said she should check back later. She Later came back and checked in and it was still not ready. Finally once the phone was ready she checked it out and noticed the tempered glass wasn't on the new screen (which was purchased and put on with no problem by them the first time). Then she brought the issue to his attention and he had audacity to just hand her cell back and the tempered glass with out even putting it on, Which was in a completely different packaging then previously purchased. When verifying it was the correct one he dismissively nodded unprofessionally walked away with out saying a word. If I could give them ZERO stars id gladly do so with no problem. Seriously if don't like your job or dealing with customers you should not be in customer service industry what so ever. I brought 2 ipads for diagnosis and they told me that the battery's were bad, they said they put them in and they wouldn't power up stating it was a motherboard problem quoting me $150 for a new one. I said I'll come pick them up because I would lose all my tunes with a new motherboard. They took the new battery's out. I went to another store and had new battery's put in charged them up , boom everything works. Aside from forgetting them twice to bring them back to the swap meet I dropped them off at I had drive to their store to get them back. DO NOT COME HERE !My screen was shattered, I have the iphone X and I was only able to use the upper right hand corner of my phone. I did my research and this place was giving me a good price . I paid 135$ . Unfortunately, the next day I set my phone on the counter and the screen cracked, and the actual screen was popping out of my phone. I went in to see if they can replace it or if it had a warranty and they said no. I asked if he can at least put the screen back into the phone , I stated that the cracked part was my responsibility. But the screen should not pop out of the phone unless if it was never placed properly. The guy (Kelly) said he couldn't do anything for me. I paid for the glass and the service. 7/2/15 Paid $55 for them to fix my shattered iPhone 5S screen and done under 20 minutes at the Del Mar Fair. The man running the booth, Kelly Chong, was nice and friendly and informed me that I would pay $55 there and if I would have gone to their store I would have to pay $75. He fixed the phone right in front of me and I saw the entire procedure. Everything was perfect but there is some dust on the inside of the screen. Not really noticeable but since I've seen it, I can't "unsee" it, you know? Anyway, they get 4 stars from me! Everything was perfect...except the dust. ***EDIT*** 7/3/15 12:12 AM I changed my review to 2 stars. It's now later in the evening since I had my screen fixed and now I'm having issues with the screen. When I tap to select something on my phone, it won't select it. Then, I'll double press my home button and it won't let me click anything else. I can't even swipe up to close the app, so I'm forced to restart the phone. This has happened so far 3 times. It was perfectly fine the first hour I was using it after getting home from the fair. When I restart the phone, the problem is fixed but after about 10 minutes of usage, it happens again. If I lock my phone again and leave it alone and unlock it again, it's fine. ON TOP OF THAT, the screen was placed a little bit too high up and it blocks the front camera. In photos, you can see that it's blocking it. I can't stand this problem, I'm so upset. I'll be visiting the actual store tomorrow to see what they can do. I'll update the post again. read more

Had an iPhone 7 screen repaired at the fair. Unfortunately, the ribbon cable to the home button was damaged during the repair. Don indicated that the shop would repair it and wave all repair fees and take care of it. Took the phone to the shop and dealt with a very professional staff. The repair was completed quickly. They're cheap sure, but that's what you get is cheap. I had my phone screen replaced here about 3 months ago. Yesterday I pulled my phone out of my pocket and the screen was cracked. I didn't drop it. I didn't hit it against anything. I had been noticing little microcracks showing up for the past month or so and now it's finally cracked completely. When you tell them that their products are garbage they just blow you off. You get a 1 month warranty because that's about as long as the replacement parts actually last. Also just after I had my screen replaced there, suddenly one of my microphones didn't work. They said they didn't touch it and it wasn't their problem, but I'm not an idiot. They had to transfer the on screen camera to the new screen, this piece contains the microphone so they broke it and didn't want to fix it. I took it back the next day and they told me that there was nothing they could do but they'd replace the piece for $50. I'm not paying $50 for you to replace something you broke! AVOID THIS PLACE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! They will break parts that weren't broken while replacing your other parts with garbage quality pieces then wash their hands of any wrong doing. read more
