We made reservations and he call to cancel on us; minutes later he called back to say we are all good to reserve a few kayaks; so we did. We really enjoyed our experience. The water was very rough and choppy, so we weren't able to stay out as long as we wanted and explore the beautiful scenery, but we still had a great time. John was great, very nice guy. He tried really hard to help us have the best experience possible. He was easy to work with, and communicated well. Such a fun adventure!!! First off, can't say enough great things about John. Found him on Groupon and immediately went to Yelp and saw the rave reviews then gave him a call right away. From the get go he was super friendly, informative and flexible on days and times to meet up. He checked in with us the day before as well as an hour before meeting which I appreciate, it shows how dedicated he is to his customers. We decided in doing La Jolla Shores area and he warned us that it was pretty windy today but we decided to go for the adventure ;) John was awesome and even helped us out to the water since it was a pretty rough start for us. He gave us tons of advice and tips to enjoy our experience and get the most out of it, which overall we definitely did. Once we got through the initial waves it was pretty smooth sailing, we even saw a sea lion in the water! We'd love to go kayaking again and even try the paddle boarding one of these days... I found them on FB the day before our family reunion. Luckily they accepted last minute reservations and on top that they also delivered everything to us. AWESOME!! Their customer service is awesome & they're hella cool. I asked for 10:00am rental and he was running a little late which was not a big deal to me. But he texted me to let me know that he was running late due to the beach traffic of where he had other deliveries at. We ended up getting our rentals closer to 11:00am which was fine by me. But their customer service is super awesome so he gave us a discount for being late. That I really appreciated because I wasn't expecting it. SD LIVINIT's prices are the best that I found in San Diego. Plus they deliver for no additional charge. Plus they pick up their equipment. I will surely be using them again and recommending them to everyone I know. Oh and my my Aunt & cousin accidentally broke one of the SUP's paddle and my niece lost one of the SUP's fin, he was totally cool about it and was even willing to work with me on what the cost of replacing it would be. I felt bad as it was and was not going to try and low ball him on what he was asking. My point is, if you do rent from them and break something, be honest and pay for it. You broke it so be responsible for replacing it. SD LIVINIT's pricing is great and they don't ask for any deposit upfront or put a hold on your credit card. They're good people. Be honest. So thank you SD LIVINIT's. Our family from out of town got to enjoy San Diego even more with your help!! We will most definitely be renting from them again this summer. read more

Just went out paddleboarding for the first time this weekend and Jon was a huge help. Helped us get the boards situated on our van and even offered some suggestions as to where we should put the boards in the water. Not to mention the price was right! The five stars I am giving is not for the actual kayak rentals because unfortunately we could not keep our kayaking plans since our son got sick the day we were supposed to do kayaking. But the five stars is for the nice experience I had when I called Dave to book and later cancel our appointment. He was extremely understanding and accommodating. We had never been kayaking before, but we didn't really want to do the big group tour. After looking at several different companies I came across Sdlivinit. I really liked the fact that Jon offered the kayak for the whole day rather than a couple of hours. And for less money than most companies!! Jon was Great! Within just a few hours of requesting a rental he met us at La Jolla shores with a kayak. He was very friendly and helpful. We hade a great time exploring the caves without having to do a tour. When we were done we called him and he was there to pick it up within 20 minutes. I am so glad that we found Sdlivinit and we can't wait to go again! I totally agree with the five-star reviews!John delivered the kayaks to us at the beach and offered us useful information about the wind patterns. We brought along a tarp and lunch and had an awesome time paddling all over Mission Bay, pulling in at a nice beach and park where my daughter built a mud fort and made dragon eggs while I snoozed. Heavenly!!! Having the kayaks for the day meant we could paddle hard or just relax, without worrying about the time. Eventually we kayaked across the Bay to have pizza at Rosario's, and had a very quick trip back (with the wind) to our B&B. Bring along a tarp and food and you will have an amazing time! read more

John was very polite and helpful with our kayaking experience today. We rented a tandem kayak with less than an hours notice, he was on time, very respectful. He even brought a snorkel and mask set in case we wanted to check out all the kelp beds - it was very thoughtful a nice personal touch. Communication was clear, quick and easy. As far as renting a kayak goes it was a very pleasant experience - he has an online form to fill out that is liability and an agreement which was such a nice comfort to make it feel very legit. As far as the kayak goes it was very nice and easy to use for first timers in the ocean! We will definitely be back and use the same company many times in the future! There is no muss or fuss in walking somewhere/driving somewhere and then you having to figure out how to get into the water with your gear. Jon made the experience super easy and fun! We rented a tandem kayak and the next day did SUP with Jon. The prices are SUPER competitive if not CHEAPER than anything we found on Yelp. This was probably the best renting experience I have had. I called Jon in the morning and asked if my friend and I could rent a 2 person kayak. He was kind and energetic. He said that the kayak would be ready as soon as I wanted it and that he would deliver it anywhere I wanted. He then called back and offered me 2 one man kayaks for the same price because the 2 man kayak he had left was not his best. We took the amazing offer. On my way to the beach we got stuck trying to find parking and he was very flexible and patient waiting on us to meet up with him. He met us on the beach and threw in snorkeling gear for free!! He said just call him when we were done and he would come pick the kayaks up. When we got back the the beach he was already there waiting. All of the equipment was in great shape and thanks to him, we had an amazing day on the water. I will definitely be using his services anytime I need to rent something. read more
