I am a big fan of supporting small businesses and places like this make it easy. Delicious restaurant quality food out of a small burrito place. Originally, I was pissed because of the long wait. It took more than 20 min for my burritos to come out. The whole way home I was thinking I should have just hit a drive though at the burrito place by my house. I got 3 different burritos to go so Me, the wife, and my son could sample different ones. To be honest, I was over the wait time after the first bit but I couldn't do a 5 start though. I have not had pork chili verde this good in a long time. I haven't even bothered to order it in years. I saw the part about it being mom's recipe and decided to check it out. This was the last burrito that came out but once I bit into it, I knew why it took so long. This is no half ass stuff. Soft chunks of pork with a nice and spicy chili verde. It was perfect with the refried beans and the quality flour tortilla. Very good fish burrito. Lots of seasoned fish inside and they didn't over do it with the sauce and pico. Some places have watery Pico that make the burrito soggy. Not here, this was just right. The pork adobada was pretty good too. The burrito wasn't as big as the other two but the quality was still there. I'll be back for sure. Probably call in the order though. I'm not trying to wait that long again. read more

My second visit was no different with regards to the terrific customer service, but it was much different, in a better way, with the manner my breakfast burrito was prepared. This time, there was not doubt it was a breakfast burrito because I could thoroughly taste the bacon & eggs. I asked them to put a little pico de gallo and they obliged. All the ingredients mix with the Jack cheese made for one fine burrito. One thing I learned from Jessica, the manager, that one can modify their burrito to their liking. I certainly liked that. To be specific, this review is meant for the awful woman at the front. We, as in my team and I, have been going to Senor Burro for quite some time now. So much so, that they know it's me when I call every time. We have always had an awful experience when we order with her but we love the food and the other gentlemen working there are amazing so we continue to go back despite our bad experiences with her. When placing orders, she constantly sounds like she's annoyed and when questioned about the accuracy of orders she snaps back as if the customer did something wrong. Rather than explaining that the Menu has changed, she blames the customer for ordering incorrectly. A call with a concern is met with a nasty attitude and lies about where the manager is. Maybe she should move from a customer facing position is she's not able to handle answering questions/concerns to something less interactive. We are still waiting for a manager to contact us. Food is great, but customer service needs SERIOUS adjustment. read more

Best tacos ever. This place is truly a hidden gem! Growing up in San Diego, I've tried taco shops all over the City. I think Señor Burro is the best. Not only do they have delicious tortillas, but they have excellent salsa! I recommend the fish taco, as well as the adobada. Yesterday, I tried their chicken rolled taco special (only 5$!) and really enjoyed it. I come here pretty often now and it's officially become my favorite casual mexican restaurant. read more

Glad I have found this taco shop. This has been the only place I have found that serves pollo adobado. It's a great alternative to the pork version. Went there today to buy fish tacos, chicken rolled tacos, rice, refried beans and horchata. The tacos were small (street taco) but flavorful and only $1. They were definitely worth it. The rolled tacos were kinda mushy. The rice was good but the refried beans and the cotija cheese were just a tiny bit too salty for my taste. The horchata was good though. The place is very clean and white (bright). The person behind the register is thorough and is good at selling up. I was greeted with a smile which was hidden behind a mask but those eyes don't lie. Definitely not your traditional mexican food place. The aesthetic is very modern which I thinks takes away from what you might expect from a mexican restaurant. Just my opinion of course. Would it stop me from visiting again? Nah I'd definitely go again to try what else they have to offer and will update my rating/review accordingly. read more

5 stars for service, cleanliness and price. 3 stars for a few of the TJ street tacos and 2 for a few. The carnitas was super dry and flavorless. The pollo a weird clear/grey color that was squishy. The carne asada salty and not flavorful. The pollo adobado and pork adobado were pretty good, tortillas pretty good as well. Salsa bar a let down with only Verde (green), hot which actually was spicy or extra hot. No creamy salsas, mild, medium, pico, etc. I know it's a new spot but the family who owns it has many taco shops so I expected amazing flavors and knock me off my seat tacos. Went here for lunch and ordered the potato taco and the bean cheese and rice burro. The potato taco was pretty good, but different. Topped with cabbage and pico. Then I moved on to the bean cheese and rice burro. The burro was not bad at all, but also not great. The one thing that did stand out was the tortilla, it was great. The service was just fine but my ordered took a while to come out so don't come here in any sort of rush (or order ahead). Was fine but I likely won't be back.
