First saw the benefits of salt therapy online and was delighted to hear that we have one here in San Jose! The salt room was interesting. The entire room from wall to floor was covered in salt. There's also a salt generator that blasts salt particles around the room. It can get pretty dusty. There's lounge chairs and foot rest for you to chill on. You can pass the time either on your phone (they'll give you a ziplock so your phone doesn't get dusty), bring some reading material, or watch tv. Still seeing if this kind of treatment is worth it for me. I've been going for about 4 sessions now. I bought an 8 session private room package. Private room is for a group of 3 or 4. You're suppose to go frequently before you start seeing results. So far I've been hacking up phlegm I didn't know I had, so I think that's a good sign! The salt particles are suppose to help draw out liquid from your lungs. Tip: be prepared to be covered in salt dust afterwards. read more

Wanted to try something different and picked up the Groupon. This was so relaxing. I had a great time. Took my husband with me. We both feel asleep at times just sitting there listening to the sound of the music and the machine grinding up the fine salt into the air. It is quite beautiful walking into the room. There is a sharp smell that stings a little, but I made sure to take short breaths. Drank my water from time to time to avoid any dryness. I stumbled on this place randomly, and had my first session recently. I never heard of sea salt therapy before this. I do suffer from allergies, and have been having a sinus headache for a few weeks due to allergies. I decided to give it a try. The facility looked really clean. The lady at the front desk was really nice. There are no lockers, but there are cubbies to put your things in. They also have sea salt for sale. The salt room is relaxing, with rocking chairs, ottomans, and a tv displaying relaxing music/images. The lights are dim, and each chair has a reading light, a box of tissues, and a wastebasket. There are a total of 5 chairs, so 5 people can be in the room at one time. My headache didn't go away after just one session, but I felt relaxed after my session, especially since I could not bring my phone in for anything. I only noticed afterwards, that they had magazines you could take in with you. The salt made me cough at first for a few minutes, but then I settled into it. During my session, there were very sick-sounding people in there, which got tiresome to listen to after 45 minutes. It is only for this reason that I will have to think about coming back here- I'd like to limit my exposure to sick people and germs as much as possible, and this would be like the equivalent of the waiting room at a doctor's office during flu season. I don't know a solution for this- it is what it is. If you're already sick, this won't bother you, I guess. There is a private room you can book, but it's more than twice the cost of the group room, too costly for me. All in all, I would recommend coming here if you don't care about germs or sick people. Bought a Groupon for 3 sessions/person and went in with my husband. He was trying to get over a lingering cough that stuck around after a bad cold, and I was using it to see if it'll have any effect on my seasonal allergies, plus I was curious about the experience. I didn't have much interaction with the owner at the front desk, and we were shown promptly to our treatment room. The ambiance was relaxing, with music playing on the TV and magazines you can select from. It took a little time to adjust to the fine mist of salt in the air as you will initially feel the urge to cough and clear your throat. But it's cool, kinda like learning how to breathe in water. I would highly suggest not bringing in any electronics, even cell phones sealed in plastic bags. My cell phone, though sealed, crapped out after my treatments here, but it's an old klunker, anyway. There is no clock in the room and probably not wise to bring in a watch due to the salt. Since people go into the treatment room at different intervals, it may help to assign a group number so that when the owner sticks her head in and announces, "Your session is done" and you're in there for back-to-back sessions, you aren't left wondering how much time is left. I'm not a strong believer in holistic treatment, but these sessions actually worked to get rid of my husband's cough for good. I think I was able to breathe better after the treatments, too, but I didn't feel much different. I have been experiencing chronic sinus problems for the past several months. The last couple weeks especially I have been having significant sinus pain, sinus headaches, even earaches. Nothing I took over the counter helped the pain or pressure. I have had several sessions at Sea Salt Therapy in a row and have noticed a great improvement in my sinus headache and facial sinus pain. The pain in my ears is much improved, too. I have had other sessions here in the past several months when I noticed sinus congestion and pain and found it to be very helpful in relieving the pressure and congestion, and extremely relaxing. I fall asleep almost immediately after my session starts, and when I leave I have the same relaxed feeling as I do after I get a massage. I've had 2 sessions here so far and am really enjoying this respiratory wellness center! I booked an appointment because I suffer not only from seasonal allergies but also year-round sinus issues from pets and other environmental allergens. I have constant congestion and post-nasal drip; I am not a fan of taking meds. I took advantage of a Groupon deal after reading excellent reviews. Angela made my appointment and was extremely friendly and helpful. She explained in detail during our call what to expect and how to prepare for my session. A few days later, she actually called me back to let me know that a time that I had originally wanted had opened up and asked if I wanted it! So sweet of her to remember that. You're instructed to arrive clean in comfy clothes, not wearing any fragrances (nice!), and also to bring a clean set of socks to wear while in the treatment room. There's a little cubby to stow your shoes. You can leave your personal items in there but it's advised to either keep them with you in a ziplock bag or leave them in your car. There are lounge chairs set up in the treatment rooms to relax in. If you're in the private room, you can choose between listening to relaxing spa music or watching Netflix (the private room is also used for family sessions... double nice!). They also provide magazines and reading lights on the chairs. The room is filled with salt; the floor looks like a white sandy salt beach, it's on the walls, and there's a salt generator that emits fine salt powder into the air so that it can be breathed in. The salt helps to bind to and expel mucus in the respiratory tract. When you enter the room, the air almost looks foggy but it's very comfortable to breathe in through the nose. There are tissues and wastebaskets at every chair. Good thing! I started draining and blowing my nose within the first 15 minutes I was there and kept using up tissues pretty constantly. It definitely was getting the congestion out! For my second session, I was in the group treatment room which is exactly the same as the private only with a few other people. It's so calm and relaxing, you don't notice the others but just know that there will be people blowing their noses or coughing in the room. I barely registered it. I also sneezed a few times and drained during this session too but it seems like I got most of it out during my first session 2 days ago. Here are my tips to make the most out of your sessions @ Sea Salt Therapy: 1. After the initial visit, go to their website to book appointments (group room only, call for private) online. Super easy and convenient! You also get a sense of when the busy times are. 2. Bring water with you. It's recommended to keep talking to a minimum or not at all as the salty air can make your mouth feel dry and your throat scratchy. 3. Bring paper in to read but leave the electronics out or in a plastic bag. I saw people using their devices but keep in mind that there's a very fine salt powder in the air & on EVERYTHING and it can get into cracks, nooks & crannies. Not worth the risk for me. 4. Take advantage of their package deals and memberships! Terrific deals! I'll be bringing in some family members to enjoy some sessions with me as I've just purchased the 12-session package! I was desperate for some relaxation which means I was checking groupon for a great massage deal. This is how I came upon the groupon deal for Sea Salt Therapy. While I had never heard of the concept before, the secluded rooms with flat screen televisions and comfy chairs sounded relaxing enough. While it seems that most people utilize this type of therapy for eczema and respiratory problems, I had also heard that the salt has good benefits for skin as well. So I thought why not try it? I bought the groupon and made an appointment for the next hour. When we arrived, the two women who own the shop welcomed us vehemently. Side note: I brought my mom--mostly because we went during rush hour and I wanted to use the carpool lane to be certain I arrived on time. I was the one having the session, and my mom was forced to waste her time away in the waiting section. But, she said time flew quickly as she chatted with the women during the entirety of my session. The women showed me the room which had the floor and walls covered in salt. Just to correct any misconceptions, a person is not submerged in the salt. Apparently my mom thought you were lying in a bath of salt....but this is not the case. I settled comfortably into my room. I read some magazines and listened to music. At first, I really did not notice the salt until there was a thin layer on my magazine and I looked up and the air looked a bit cloudier. It was very relaxing sitting in the room. Ultimately, I don't have severe skin or respiratory problems so my review is not the same as those who do. However, I definitely felt more relaxed after the session, my skin was a bit smoother the next day, and the remnants of my cold seemed to have cleared up a bit. Also, the women said that next time they can give me a heated salt pad to reduce my shoulder tension. It is very nice that they are so accomodating. All in all, I guarentee this will become one of the new spa trends. I purchased a Groupon to see if my allergies would improve. I didn't use my Groupon until I caught a head cold & had 7 days to recover until I had to run the SJ Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon. Within the first 10 minutes of my first visit I could tell it was working. I was feeling congested with a bad sinus headache a few days later, so I made my 2nd appointment. What a relief! I felt so much better, sounded better and was able to sleep better. Unfortunately, I passed my cold onto my kids. I purchased them Groupons. I had my first sea salt therapy today and it was great. I wasn't sure as to what to expect, I had the private room, so I was the only one in room. It was so relaxing and calming. I could feel the sea salt clearing my breathing passages. I felt so awake and refreshed after the session. This place is fantastic! The owners are so friendly and accommodating. It is such a clean facility, and a relaxing environment. I don't visit often because I don't have respiratory issues. But I have referred a number of my clients to this place. One client, whose child has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, had tremendous results. She reported that the night after they visited the salt room, her son slept through the night without waking up crying and coughing for the first time in a long time. Sea Salt Therapy has been used in Europe for centuries. Now, there are even many pre-schools which have salt rooms to help children with allergies/astma. I went to the salt room in Campbell with my 7 years old daughter for prevention reasons, and for relaxation. Since both my daughter and I enjoy excellent health, I could not tell much difference after the treatment in our health status. However, I must say, that I came out refreshed, with a dewy, soft glow on my skin, and a joyful, centered feeling in my heart! I think the salt truly does something special to one's well-being, and also, the two, professional, lovely, and super friendly owners/attendants make a huge difference, too! This hardworking mother and daughter pair, who originate from Hungary seem to demonstrate the famous Hungarian hospitality, for sure! They (the owners) make sure each and every guest will leave feeling even better than when they arrived to the Sea Salt Therapy of Campbell! Interesting concept. My boyfriend and I came here for the first time a few weeks ago. Bring a pair of socks because as soon as you step into the room, the floor is covered in salt. The walls are covered in salt as well. Supposedly this natural healing therapy helps with the respiratory. We did not see or feel a difference in our breathing or a relief from "respiratory ailments," whatever that means. We were the only ones in the room which was pretty relaxing while enjoying a few episodes of Fuller House on Netflix. read more

What a neat place! My toddler has a cold and I didn't want to continue to give her medicine around the clock (she spits most of it out anyways) so I decided to bring her here to see if this would alleviate some of her symptoms. This was my first time coming to a place like this and I am pleasantly surprised about the results! She had been having green phlegm coming out of her nose and after the treatment, no more phlegm and snot was seen. My baby's breathing improved and she was running around. I'm definitely returning here whenever my baby is ill. Plus, I normally take allergy medicine daily and felt so amazing that I forgot to take mine last night. I had bought a groupon to try this place as somebody who often has stuffy sinuses. This place is busy and it took me a handful of tries to get an appointment. However, this place is far more potent than I had anticipated. Only a few moments in I could feel it working/stinging. I only lasted 30 minutes before i caved in (my sinuses really weren't that bad that day). Honestly if you are 'clogged' up I could see this quick pit stop clearing everything up in 30-45 minutes tops. It is relaxing, peaceful, and works. read more

I tried it today for the first time ever - it was very interesting. I think I am feeling less irritation in my throat today a few hours later after the session. I have 4 more sessions to try within the next week, so I'll probably write an update as well. This place is very clean and friendly. The lady at the lobby was super nice, she kept my purse in a safe place outside this salt room. It is kind of hard to breathe inside salt room - but only for the first 10 min, then you get used to it. I was able to bring my phone with me in a zip lock bag, and I listened to my hypno therapy session at the same time - it was super relaxing. I think I really enjoyed it. The only negative is that other people next to you might cough and snore (if they doze off). That part is a little annoying - but otherwise, it's great. The place is very basic. Everything in reception area is covered in a fine layer of salt . The lady in charge is nice and seems knowledgeable about the treatment . I didn't like the fact that there are no lockers room for yr valuables , just simple drawers . So make sure to either leave yr valuables in yr car or take minimum with you. I entered the salt room. Eerie , it's like walking in a deep fog . 5 comfy chairs covered in salt particles. You can read or use yr cell ( lady said cell phones ok with the salt..). . Relaxing music. I stayed 45 mns , relaxing . When I left I felt better in my breathing although I had no sinus or other ailments before going in. I tasted my skin at the end and didn't taste salt at all so I am wondering now what are the ingredients there? What ratio of salt and else? And what type of salt and mostly provenance ? read more

What a wonderful and relaxing experience! My great experience started from the moment I booked my appointment with ease, then upon arrival my mom and I were warmly greeted and shown exactly how to check in and prep for our appointment in the salt room. Since this was our first real outing since Covid started, we were a little nervous, but there are lots of wonderful precautions being taken and we were at ease immediately. The salt room was bigger than I expected (a family could easily and comfortably fit), clean and extremely comfortable. I like that you have the option to dim the lights and watch television if you prefer (we enjoyed some Netflix during our session). This was the first time either my mom or myself have done salt therapy so we were not sure what to expect. It was an odd sensation, nothing painful in the least and I could actually feel my lungs expanding and my breathing getting better. After the appointment upon walking outside my breathing was night and day better and I could smell and taste so much better as well (I suffer from allergies so it was a big difference). 5 out of 5, can't recommend enough! read more

To get the full effects, I was told I needed to come 4 times in the first week. So far I've visited 2 days in a row. Sessions start on the hour. Everyone takes off their shoes and leaves their stuff in a cubby box in the waiting area, so don't bring much with you. I brought a ziplock bag to put my phone/wallet/keys into because the salt is bad for your electronics. The 45 minute sessions go pretty quickly. Each chair has a matching footstool, box of tissues and a trash can. The 3 chairs on the left of the room have reading lamps as well. The first day I closed my eyes and rested. (All the free floating salt dust irritated my eyes a bit). The 2nd day it seemed better, so I read. (Maybe i was used to it?) The whole room is covered in salt. The floor has bigger gravel-like salt to walk on, so you have to walk carefully. There is an input tube in the right-front of the room which blows fine salt dust into the air. They tell you to breathe through your nose. As an asthma sufferer, I felt like it made my chest a little tight and my sinuses would fill with mucus which made me cough, sneeze or blow my nose throughout the session. So that made it a little less relaxing than just listening to serene music in a dim room. It also made me thirsty, and i could taste the salt on my lips. The others seemed to blow their noses and cough too. I think that's what makes the process toxin cleansing. It forces everything out. Afterward, everything is covered in a fine salt dust. My hair, face, clothes, water bottle, book, the plastic bag with my stuff... I dusted myself off and went to the restroom and wiped myself off with a moist paper towel so I wouldn't look white for the rest of the afternoon. I have 2 more paid sessions to go. It's worth checking out if you have the time to put into it. The girl at the front desk says that with the treatments she doesn't need allergy meds anymore. I couldn't believe it! Truly amazed by the wonderful results I got. My horrible eczema looked significantly better after 1 treatment, 2 made it look almost gone. Better results and safer than my Protopic. I need to keep going until I'm completely healed and then I'll decrease and just go for maintenance. The owners are so nice. Sea Salt therapy is the place to be if you suffer from respiratory or skin problems. I suffer from year round allergies and psoriasis. After only three or four sessions in the salt room I have lessen my dependency of allergy pills, solution and ointment usage by half! I love this place! Walked in with sinus pressure and walked out with 95% of it gone! I purposely didn't use my nasal spray or take any pain meds to see if there was a difference and there was a big difference! Meds don't even take away the pressure like it did from the salt therapy. Took my 2 grandkids there so we were in the kids room, and both loved it. Even with 2 kids playing with toys & salt I still walked out feeling so relaxed. Staff, awesome and so informative! This place is wonderful! Very unusual experience! I personaly do not have any issues with my sinuses or skin but wanted to try it just because it sounds very interesting. First session was very relaxing but i have not feel anything. On the second time( I was going every day for a week) my nose started to drip and I was coughing. That were the signs of cleansing, I've cleared up from some toxic mucus. Very nice! During the session I try to breathe deeply through my nose and my mouth, and try to expose as much skin as possible. Overall, very nice place, friendly and informative owners. This place is really great! I came here because I caught a really bad cold, I was having coughing fits and congestion like crazy. My mom recommended I go here. My mom comes here regularly for her allergies and she swears by the salt. After coming here for 3 consecutive days my congestion is practically gone :). Just a quick followup to my previous review. After regular visits to Sea Salt Therapy, my sinus problems improved dramatically. I just got back after traveling for several weeks, across the country and out into the woods for a mens retreat. During all this airplane travel, staying in smoky, air-conditioned hotels, and dusty primitive conditions, I returned home healthy! I didn't get sick at all while traveling! This is a first for me.
