Not sure of spelling of her name but that's what I heard. Anyway, pressure was perfect. I love deep tissue massage. I have a few go to places that I love including YOLO in Glendale and Jin Mao in Torrance. This is now added to the list. I'm in Santa Monica at least three times a week so I will definitely be coming here and asking for Shishka. Definitely a must try. The spa is private; the only people in the entire space are you + the amazing esthetician, Heather. The lobby space is beautiful, green, and inviting. They only use Organic to Green brand products which have very clean ingredients (a huge plus for sensitive skin)! Upon arrival, Heather explained the treatments and we started with body dry brushing + coco oil body treatment. Then, she gave me a scalp scrub + hair mask. This process was probably around 20-25 minutes. Then, I was given one hour total to enjoy the private lounge, infrared sauna (set to 133 degrees F) and steam shower. I spent 25 minutes in the sauna before taking a cold shower using their products, including a lovely body scrub. I also ate a few complementary snacks (mini KIND bars and fruit bars). After that, we concluded with their Signature Facial (~60 minutes) that included steam, aromatherapy, extractions, microdermabrasion, face mask, and much more. All throughout, Heather was very kind and answered all my skincare questions. Would absolutely recommend. I look forward to coming back! Not to mention, the price is really good if you buy the Groupon for the Bungalow Experience. For a total of $160 (Groupon was about $85 with the summer promotion, plus a $75 tip based on the full treatment price), I had 2.5 hours of pure relaxation. Before our massage/nail service, we were seated outdoors in the patio area and served complimentary fruit, tea, and champagne. The vibe outside was so cute and relaxing. It felt breezy and nice. The masseuses came out to put heated neck wraps on our shoulders and soak our feet in water with rose petals and rub our feet. We had fun chatting with them. The people working here are so friendly and fun! Our services were great as well, which included facials, swedish and thai massages, and a manicure. Love that there is an attached nail salon. We came in a large group of 8 but they were able to fit us all in the same appointment time. We paired up in rooms for the massages. After our service, they served us delicious coconut water and more snacks/drinks. The owner even surprised me with a little ice cream, and sang a birthday song, and gave us a bunch of spoons for us to share. The amenities were cheap, the AC wasn't working, appointments ran late, and the operation felt held together by good intentions. Somehow a massage and facial became an almost four-hour adventure. The massage was fine. The facial was terrible. No one was rude--the place was just spectacularly unpolished. If you're looking for a basic neighborhood massage, you may be perfectly happy. If the website has you picturing a serene, elevated spa experience, lower that vision several floors. I went in for relaxation and left needing a glass of real wine and a legitimate spa day.

They have since remodeled and both the interior and exterior looked beautiful: clean, tastefully decorated and spacious. There is a new lounge area outdoors for women only. It looked European. I got the 50-minute relaxation massage and my therapist really listened to what I wanted her to work on, and she did a really good job. They have a promotion now where if you join, you basically get $50 off per treatment. If I didn't already have a membership with another spa closer to me, I most likely would have joined.

The Santa Monica location has a soft spot in my life as this location was my first Burke Williams experience and I have returned many times, always pleased with the service and kindness of the staff. The initial greeting is warm and professional and I appreciated the tour as I had forgotten where the ladies area is located. The ULTRAfusion facial is heaven and my complexion has never looked better! Every esthetician has been very consistent and I can expect the same protocol at each location and I can't pick a favorite...either spot or person providing the service. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager who took the time to talk for a moment. He must be really busy but I didn't feel rushed. The spa area has charming amenities and I like showering before a treatment and taking advantage of all the goodies in ample supply: mouthwash, cleansers, lotions, etc. Don't forget about the delish tea in the waiting area. The front entrance has many seating areas for you to relax before and after your massage. Inside, it appears like a renovated home that has multiple massage rooms. You can also do your massage outside in the backyard space, which also has a great lounge area where you can recover. Jeff is a great massage therapist, and he's very good at identifying and targeting areas that can use some work. After just a few sessions, I have felt so much better and feel rejuvenated for the long term. Willow Spa is only open a few days a week, so make sure to book in advance, especially if you have a preferred massage therapist.
