    peach dessert

Great ambiance. Takes reservations and was able to accommodate when we called to move it up by 30mins. Almost too cozy of a table set up though.. my 6ft+ husband was a little cramped in the corner booth table. Mushrooms were great but a tad too much garnish for my liking. Potatoes and cheese dishes were also very yummy as were the oysters. Husband's cocktails were good - I just wish they had a Riesling or Sauv Blanc option for a glass rather than just purchasing the whole bottle. Peach dessert was interesting.. think it would have been 10x better if served warm. Doughnuts were awesome. Clean bathrooms. Overall good date night spot or happy hour meet up with friends, but wouldn't run back for a dinner reservation.

The atmosphere is amazing--perfect for a date. My bf and I each had two cocktails, and our server was incredibly friendly. He recommended cocktails for us, and they were absolutely delicious. I feel bad that I can't remember the server's name, but I'm truly grateful--he was the best. We also ordered a pasta to share, and it was so good. Honestly, this is the kind of place I'd want to come to at least once a week. I'm usually pretty picky, but I was fully satisfied with the atmosphere, the food, and the service. Highly recommended. And I described the kind of flavors I usually like, and even though there wasn't anything exactly like that on the menu, the server went out of his way to talk to the bartender and have a custom cocktail made just for me. It was incredibly thoughtful, and I absolutely loved what they made. I'm so, so grateful for that level of care. Thank you so much!!

Cocktails on point Bartender Jay was superb. We went in for one cocktail, the Heirloom 24. We ended up staying and ordering three cocktails, all 10/10. Halloween decor well balanced. Will return.

The small bites were great, especially enjoyed the pork belly & charred vegetables. Delicious cocktails & our server was nice & friendly. Must try when in Salt Lake City.

We ended up here while waiting for our table at Copper Onion. Originally we came for cocktails, but ended up getting some food too. The bar area was pretty packed, but four of us squished in to a little rail along the window and a little seating area around a pillar near eachother. I had an old fashioned which was good as did two of my friends and the other had a martini. I was trying to save my appetite for dinner, so I just had a couple bites of two of the dishes. We had the Burrata plate which was Burrata with roasted squash, a Moroccan chermoulah sauce, and a dukkah topping. The creaminess of the Burrata with the crunch of the dukkah was interesting. We also had the polenta cakes which was 4 cakes served with a whipped ricotta and a piquillo pepper sauce. The polenta was good as well the outside crisp and golden brown. There was also a shaved veggie salad. Definitely a more dark and brooding hipster vibe than their sister restaurant nextdoor. Would definitely return for a drink or a snack.

One of my favorite downtown slc spots. The menu has great food, a range of cocktails and natural & orange wines. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, while also being lively and energetic. It's a relatively small space with a bar so it fills with people and energy quickly, but you can easily hear the conversation at your table. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Where you want to be somewhere fun and slightly elevated. The focaccia and salmon crudo were delicious. Others in my group loved their burgers. I had the mushroom miso pasta was was delicious, a great texture, but a little heavy/rich and surprisingly filling. If I could add one thing to the menu it would be one more non-red-meat larger plate and my only complaint is that I wish they would use different glasses for the wine! I understand wanting something with a character and a more rustic feel but I think the short little bar glasses take away from enjoying the wine.

Braised Pork Sandwich w/ smashed potatoes

Great little bar, to stop in for a drink, appetizer or light meal. The esthetics and vibe of Copper Common is similar to what you find in many larger cities, the likes of NYC and Chicago. This is a well needed establishment in SLC. With a great music selection, dimmed lighting and higher end decor... it makes for a great date night or place to entertain guest. We tried their CC Burger and Braised Pork Sandwich. The burger is truly underwhelming to look at, but the flavor and freshness is fantastic and leaves you satisfied and happy with the selection you made. The braised pork was a little dry, but was really tasty. The smashed potatoes that came with both plates are really good and complement the meals perfectly. Definitely worth a visit and we will be back.

I love this place. It is small and quite cozy with muted lighting and nice jazz background music. We arrived right when they opened and were able to have the place to ourselves for a bit. The service was attentive and kind. My husband ordered the braised pork sandwich and I had their signature burger. They were both excellent. I played mocktail roulette and the bartender made me a yummy cocktail. I ordered the winter sundae which had vanilla soft serve, brown sugar oat crumble and chai spiced pear jam because I am a sucker for anything chai and it was so good.

Best old fashioned I've had! This is a really nice late night bite/cocktail place and has a super cozy interior. The bar is super sophisticated looking and it really makes you feel like you've gone back in time to a prohibition era speakeasy/cocktail bar. I'd definitely recommend this place for date-night cocktails. Can't speak on the food, but looking forward to trying something next time.

Originally, my friends and I tried to walk in for dinner at the Copper Onion (5 p.m. on a Friday) but it was too packed! The host suggested we try their sister restaurant, Copper Common. We were greeted warmly and seated at a pub-height table facing the window. Our server was really fantastic and knew a lot about the specials of the day, and even the varietal of grapes on the featured wine (and how they were grown at a 400 year old vineyard!) We ordered the burger, lamb meatballs, miso mushroom pasta and a side salad. The pasta was definitely the standout of the bunch. The salad was forgotten and arrived later, but was taken off the bill. I'd still like to try Copper Onion on my next trip!

We came here on a whim and absolutely loved it. I'm always looking for a place to go with my friends where we can hangout and eat good food. It was a great ambiance and the servers were so nice and helpful. I think the menu changes often and they have daily specials so it's a cool place to stop in. We ended up sharing a lot of dishes and it was great because we tried many things. My only pushback is that some of it can be a little salty. I would go back tho and just be cognizant of what I'm getting.

There's a couple of pool tables. The bathrooms are a little "shocking." I was looking for the women's restroom and when the lights automatically turned on, I saw lots of 70s models posing nude. "Don't worry honey, it's okay to look, and also throw money at the half-naked women! I promise you won't get in trouble!" Uh-huh. ;) Alright, I digress. Awkwardness aside, Prohibition is a really great place to enjoy a classy dinner, where the meat is served on a place AND on stage, and the cheesecake comes with the price of admission! Speaking of admission, as my wife and I were guests, being shepherded along by our friend, I cannot recall exactly what the "cover charge" was (not much, if I remember correctly...less than $20 for two?), and if reservations are *required*, I cannot say for certain, but I would say they are *recommended* at the very least, because our showtime was packed. Anyway, once paid, you are escorted through a secret bookcase door (SLC residents sure do love their speakeasies, don't they?), and into the dining hall and saloon, where you're soon to have your socks knocked off...well, someone's clothes are coming off, anyway! We were given a table that I dismissively thought was tucked away pretty far in the back and out of the way, but it ended up being one of the best seats in the house, as the table where the performers gathered, prepped, and returned to was just adjacent to us, so we were about as up close and personal as you can get, without getting yourselves arrested. Each of the dancers brought their own style, flair, and wardrobe to their performances, which were spirited and energetic, and a touch racy, without devolving into outright debauchery. It may be an (18+? 21+?) venue, but alcohol restrictions aside, I wouldn't hesitate to take older, more mature teens to a show with similar content. We ordered a smattering of smaller dishes, as we weren't particularly hungry, but the Mishima Wagyu tacos were fantastic (as you would expect), as was the Fedora Fin (Za'atar-crusted ahi tuna), and all of our cocktails. As the show is timed event with multiple performances per night, both food and bev are fired out of the kitchen/bar faster than the bullets from a Tommy Gun, but with far better accuracy. The whole operation here was honestly very impressive, from start to finish. Coming from a progressive city like Portland, it's always struck me a little odd that places that, by reputation, strike you as more conservative end up having some of the best, most wild entertainment venues, that you only wish you had back home. Prohibition is one of these places that I would rather see in my downtown, instead of the litany of seedy strip joints pushing for maximum titilation, but with only a fraction of the class and sophistication. Prohibition is good, clean fun, masquerading as something illicit, which is the heart of what makes it work so well.

In full transparency it has been 2-3 years since my first and last visit to Water Witch. I noticed this in my drafts and thought I should complete my review. That said, I think I hyped this place up in my head too much before my visit because of the James Beard nod. So when it didn't quite hit the mark for me, I was disappointed. It's quite an intimate bar. By that I mean small space inside. The main bar has seating of course and there are a few seating areas directly behind the barstool area. There is a small walkway that separates the bar and the seating area. So the seating area is looking straight forward at the bartenders and the backs of people on barstools. I felt like the people behind me were staring into my soul lol, but that's a me problem ha. It's a modern design and beautifully decorated. I had two drinks. One from the menu and one that I told the bartender what I liked and disliked. He then made a drink based upon my taste. In my opinion it tasted similar to the one from the menu, which was disappointing because I was hoping for something different. There was one bartender that evening and one bar back, so even with the few people at the bar (I'd say 6-7 including me and a guest) and the 4 people seated behind us. It took some time to get his attention and order a drink. Which is part of the reason I only had two drinks. I would probably give this place another try since it's been some time since I've been there. As I always like to say. Stop in and judge for yourself.
