This is the place to go for an all vegan menu. I'm not vegan, but I have vegan friends and it's hard to find places to go where we both enjoy the food. A typical restaurant will usually have a few awful vegan choices and most vegan places will have the fake meat stuff which isn't good. Seabirds offers good food in general, and it happens to be vegan. My two favorite dishes are the avocado tacos and biscuit sandwich. Full of flavor. Wow I am no where near a vegan but I scarfed down my meal here in about 5 minutes it was so good. Everything is plant based and vegan so key that in mind when planning to come here. The wait can be very long on the weekend for brunch, my wait on an early Sunday afternoon was about an hour for a table for 2. They have nice indoor seating plus an outdoor patio area with seating when the weather is gorgeous (it usually is). Great place to bring dogs and sit outdoors. Our server was so nice he brought water bowls for our dogs too. We ordered the purple taquitos, jackfruit nachos, and beets me burger. All were honestly delicious! The taquitos were packed with flavor and had a sauce on them that were just perfect. The nachos included a lot of healthy ingredients such as onion, peppers, black beans, guacamole, and cilantro. The beets burger was sooo impressive and definitely better than any impossible burger I've had elsewhere. As a meat lover, I honestly forgot I was eating a beets burger! First of all I would love to say that all of the employees are absolutely amazing and sweet. The prices have definitely increased since the last time I've been. Understandable but $5 for a small taco was a little bit much. Also celiacs beware. The food does have a lot of gluten-free options but unfortunately most of the items are cross contaminated. The fryer is shared and so is the cooktop. They are able to clean the cooktop well enough to where the only item that I could eat I did not get a reaction to. For a vegetarian joint, this place is ALL RIGHT. I love the grilled cheese with tomato soup. The cheese is all vegan but if you didn't tell me I wouldn't have guessed. It might just be like this cheese is slightly meltier than usual Kraft. But delicious nonetheless. The cauliflower ceviche was not at all farty-cauliflower, instead it's a perfect mix of avocado and other fun veggies and made the whole round ball of ceviche pop. The mushroom taco was also pretty good with pickled veggies on top. The whole meal finished very refreshing. But the service needs a little tune up in terms of their outside tables. The parking situation is very limited too. There's a auto place right next store with lots of parking, but be careful because they will tow your car! We ended up parking across the street outside the paint company. And walked down to the light to cross. Seabirds Kitchen is located amongst very earthy, hippie-hippie like places. The people seem very nice. When we found seabirds in the corner, there was a 10 minute wait. Not bad. We were seated and our waiter was very friendly. We ordered the brussels sprouts, and let me tell you- those were AMAZING. Like seriously mind-blowing how good they were. I don't even like brussels sprouts. But these, had SO much flavor. I don't know how they even did it. Magical type stuff. My boyfriend ordered the warm cauliflower salad and he said it was really good. My butternut squash enchiladas were okay. Our small group was seated outdoors underneath the heat lamp which was actually quite fantastic. Sitting outside with Christmas lights and away from other parties made it a very nice evening. We each got our own dish but was able to try a couple of items. I had their Beetroot Burger (claimed to be one of the top 20 veggie burgers in the country) with a side salad, and was very satisfied. The burger had great texture and consistency, and was flavored nicely. I also tried my friend's spicy curry enchiladas, and these were amazing. They were definitely on the spicier end but were oh-so satisfying. Remember, you don't have to follow a strict plant-based diet to enjoy Seabirds. This is our fav vegan restaurant. The food is always amazing and the staff is always nice. My kids love it too. My younger one happily eats the ABR bowl and it's so healthy. My favorite is the So Cal Taco Salad but there so many yummy things on the menu: purple taquitos, grilled cheese, burnt brussel sprouts, Avo Taco, Beets Me Burger, nachos, etc. I love that they don't use highly processed meat alternatives (ie Beyond Meat, Impossible). We love the outside sitting area with the picnic style tables and massive silk floss tree. My older one always asks to sit outside. This restaurant is located in The Lab complex, on the opposite side of the street from The Camp. Parking can often be difficult but I came in mid afternoon so it wasn't a problem (by 4:30 it was getting busy though!). I got the butternut squash enchiladas. Their menu describes the dish as "three enchiladas filled with butternut squash, mushrooms and spinach. Topped with creamy pasilla sauce, almond feta, radish and cilantro. Served with black beans." Was it good? Yes. But I'd rather have a chicken, beef, or pork enchilada any day over this. If I could mentally block out ever having a meat filled enchilada I would probably rate this higher. But I just thought it was okay and normally would never go out of my way to get this. I do admit that I liked their black beans better than what I get served at most Mexican restaurants. The menu is 100% Vegan and has a lot of gluten free options. We started with the Cauliflower ceviche and Brussels sprouts. Both very good but the cauliflower ceviche was the star. Served with tortilla chips, this dish is as good as a seafood ceviche if not better. For entrees we had the tomato soup, jackfruit Al Pastor tacos, mushroom tacos and the beer battered avocado tacos. Winner- Mushroom tacos with the jackfruit ones a close second. We sat outside on the heated patio. No view to write about but it was cozy with the heaters and tables were not too close to each other so a nice place to hold a conversation.
