Seafood City is always a treat. We always find things and food we never knew we needed . Today if was Katseye Chicken at Jollibee, dingdongs nut packs, and liver paste so I could make paksiw with leftover turkey. The chicken was good and more like a spicy bbq. You still can't beat the original chicken but it was good. The paksiw turned out great so it was a great trip overall.

I needed to get some fish and tacos and I found this place. I also found some things I was not looking for which was nice. I found some spicy banana chips that my husband is obsessed with. On the way out I noticed pan de sal being sold and I grabbed it. I made pan de Sal sandwiches with ham, cheese, and apricot jam. The service at the register is non-existent. The cashier and the bagger talked to each other and fully ignored me. This did not bother me but it explains why they have so many bar reviews. I'll definitely go back. As a plus you can also grab prepared meals and the multiple stands in the market. If you want some fried chicken you must try Jollibee.

Seafood City is the go-to Filipino supermarket in Orange County. It's more than groceries--it's a hub with a food court anchored by Grill City, Valerio's Bakehouse, Red Ribbon, and Jollibee. This is where you'll find the nostalgic products straight from the Philippines, the stuff you grew up with. The store looks clean, the vibe feels familiar, and a lot of aunties keep the place running. Out of all the spots inside, Jollibee pulls the biggest crowd. For Irvine and the surrounding area, this is the place if you want a proper Filipino market and eats under one roof.

This location was smaller than other ones I've been to, and by the layout, you can tell it was just too crowded. Red Ribbon was a kiosk, valerio bakery just on the side. Jollibee was pretty big, and I think around the corner is another store to send money to the Philippines. You can't even tell where it ends. The next thing you see is grill city and grocery. I was surprised they didn't have a crispy town. I guess they ran out of space.

Fresh clean eyed fish. They clean and fry for free! I had them fry up a pack of mackerel because the grill area didn't have any ready. We'll I just found my new place because it was way cheaper. $10 for 1 or $12 for 3. Easy choice. Just need some rice and bam! Breakfast is ready. Yes I said breakfast.

    Bagoong

I was excited to find seafood city in Irvine. Lots of people, food looks good. I ordered kare kare (medium) pint sized. They gave me 1/4 teaspoon of bagoong. Really?! Is bagoong expensive as a condiment? It was smaller than a booger. Maliit pa sa kulangot. Get your act together Filipino management so you'll be in business for a long time.

Clean and lots of choices for lunch. It's best to bring cash and your own bag. Will regularly be going back.

Yes as long as they have the stock, they import the product fro the Philippines.

    Do they sell lobster\lobster tails?

No, I don't believe so. Try a Korean (H Mart, Zion) or Chinese (Ranch 99) market instead.

I'm going to attempt to make poke tonight... is this fish fresh enough to eat raw?

Regarding Evan's answer, that is incorrect. You do want to look for sashimi grade, but sashimi has to be frozen in order to kill parasites. It's illegal in the US to serve raw fish that hasn't been frozen first.

I see a lot of reviews complaining about them not being open, I recommend following them on Instagram as they post their hours and offerings on there. I wish they included pricing on their posts to allow us to budget better before being on site. They are very much on the pricier side but for the most part that is justifiable with what you get. I picked up some spot prawns at $45/lb, 4 pieces ran me about $25 but those were so fresh I would get them again. I also picked up scallops. I did expect them to be fresh but they were completely frozen so I am not sure when they harvested them and the scallops themselves were a tad on the smaller side, at about $33 for a 17oz bag that seemed a bit steep. Most of their fish range from $32-35 per pound and their Mexican white shrimp were $25/lb. I do very much plan to come back but this would not be a frequent stop for me

My group of friends and I were purchasing snacks and waiting respectfully in line at Register 14. Our group consisted of one African American individual and three Southeast Asian individuals. When it was our turn to check out, the cashier told us the store was closed and refused to ring up our items. She directed us to customer service instead. When we went to customer service, we were informed that the store was actually still open until 10:00 PM. What made the situation even more upsetting was that after refusing to serve us, the cashier immediately rang up the customer behind us. If the store was truly closed, why were other customers still being checked out? The entire interaction felt targeted, disrespectful, and humiliating. While I cannot know the cashier's intentions, being denied service while another customer was served moments later left my friends and me feeling singled out and unwelcome. Rather than argue, I left all of my items behind and walked out. I have shopped at 99 Ranch for years and never expected to experience something like this. I hope management reviews the surveillance footage and register activity from Register 14 around 9:00 PM on June 6, 2026, and addresses why customers were falsely told the store was closed while others continued to receive service. Until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
