    Mixed chow mien
    Timothy Spencer T.

TDLR: It's food court Chinese food. Don't expect anything amazing and just expect to be fed. Mixed chow mien: Inconsistent noodle texture, poor mix on the wood as I've had bites of noodle that look anemic compared to others, and you immediately know that spot just missed the soy sauce. The proteins and vegetables were fine. Ambiance: It's a food court. Nothing too different from what we see all over the world. Service: The expectations here are low given the store front looked like they were out of business. A cashier bell and a note that says to ring it are the only 2 things from convincing people that the place is closed. The lady who rang me up was nice. Simple transaction, nothing too different from the norm.

I got the yellow curry and the pad Thai. The curry itself tastes bad and the chicken is poor quality. Couldn't even finish the food

    Spicy Beef Pad Thai

1st time trying this place. My co worker suggested we order from here and he can pick up. Since they are only 5 minutes away from our office. He suggested Pad Thai, and I got the spicy beef pad Thai. Price wise its very cheap. In Irvine area you wont find a total $12 lunch option. The portion was even good for 2 people. But to be honest not a very healthy option. It was very greasy. But tasted good of course. Tough to say if I ever get food from them.

Chicken Pad Thai & Cream Cheese Wontons (2pc)

very solid pad thai! i got the spiciest level which was soo good. not as sour as some others i've had but otherwise very good! chicken was good & portion size made it even more worth the price. the cream cheese wontons were alright but tasted good with their sauce. would definitely come again! service was fast (less than 10 min & she was very nice)

    Beef pad see ewe

Apple Pay accepted Portions, veggies, meat, noodle are very generous with even strong spicy taste (medium). This is the first place out of hundreds restaurants that offer extreme amount of veggies in pad see ewe it's worth a Shot on just see how much veggies they throw. Taste and flavor as well as spiciness are compared to NONE, even medium spicy means extra spicy in other restaurant. This is like for those who like to feel "kick" in lunch time so you are ready to get out of boredom of morning routing. Take my words, try it. Make sure to order water/drink because you will need it.

    Basil Chicken over Rice, yum!

I enjoy their Basil Chicken Over Rice w/ medium spice. It's my go-to if I can't decide what I really want. Give it a try. You won't regret it ^-^

My go-to late night takeout place! It's called express for a reason...I don't think I could ever sit and dine here. No offense, it's just that it's more of a food court type of place. Lots of times, they don't even pick up the phone or sometimes it's deserted out in front of the cashier...so I've learned not to have too much expectations...as long as they meet my food expectations. And they certainly meet those expectations. For a reasonable cost, their dishes come with at least 2 portions worth of food. Both their pad thai and pad see ew are pretty good, and both beef and tofu have been past ordered items that did not disappoint. You can also opt for a spicy option which is a nice change once in a while. Their thai tea is probably one of my favorites in the area, so be sure to try that too if you're tuning in. In short, don't come here looking for service or quality customer attention. It seems like most of their negative reviews stem from those issues. Instead, take it at its face value, and I think this place will pleasantly surprise you.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

Once seated, you'll notice the menu if full of items that you rarely see here in the USA but we have had in Bangkok. We ordered 4 items for 4 people even though in Thailand you always eat family style. I selected the first 3 and asked the waiter to select the 4th based on my first 3 choices. That was a good idea. I chose Kao Soi Noodles, Dry Boat Noodles, and Crab Fried Rice based on Yelp reviews. My server, Veerawan, chose Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad. The Kao Soi Noodles came with several pieces of perfectly fried crabs and a bundle of crispy noodles. Underneath that was a delicious yellow curry on soft noodles. The fried bits were not greasy and the coating well seasoned. The yellow curry noodles were so delicious and rich that I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The Crab Fried Rice should be mandatory. Instead of a stir fry of rice and eggs with some surimi, at Manaao the entire cap of the fried rice mound is covered with lump crab meat. At first I thought $24 was expensive, now I think it's a steal. Look at my picture! The flavor was spot on too, the rice was chewy, the crab flavor throughout but you also get mouthfuls of crab without the hassle of shells. It comes with a lime wedge but also this spicy, tangy lime sauce that just sends the dish to the moon. The name of the restaurant is lime in Thai so they are supporting their brand with this sauce. Bottle this stuff! The Dry Boat Noodle was our least favorite but not because it wasn't tasty. The ingredients were braised beef and morning glory and meatballs. Because we messed with the recipe and ordered it dry (I didn't want two soups) the meatballs were cold-to-room-temp and flavorless. The noodles were some kind of special noodle too, that required the soup to separate. This dish should not be ordered dry. It's an easy fix since we all splashed some of the broth they knowingly brought on the side to wake it up. The broth is rich and should not be missed, so don't skip on this dish just because it was my third out of four dishes. The Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad was the unexpected plot twist. This scored very high in all the major Thai flavor categories of spicy, sweet, salty and sour. You get the benefit of lots of snake head fish without the chore of avoiding bones. The coating on the fried fish pieces were coated in the delicious sauce. Since it's technically a salad underneath and the fish is mixed with all those fresh herbs and large cashews, you get a dish that is one-of-a-kind. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I wrote too much already so I'm not going to say anything about the service and ambience except they both get 5 of 5 stars. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Almost like the Cheers bar in MA where everybody knows your name. Kinda nice actually. What we ordered: 1) pad see ew with crispy pork - 5/5. The kids loved this so much we needed up having to order two. 2) garlic salmon - 4/5. Served over a bed of veggies. This one was à la cart so we had to order a side of rice. It's enough for one person. This was covered with garlicky goodness. My son was wanting more. 3) Panang curry - 5/5. Not pictured here. One of our guests started to devour that dish before I could even take a photo. Sadly, they weren't familiar with me wanting to take a picture. The kids were like "oh no. We don't touch our food before the little photoshoot" LOL. Overall, we really enjoyed our food. The staff was friendly and quickly greeted and guided me to my reserved table. The space was cozy and warm while having a minimalist vibe, but still had that small business owner feel to it. The menu had so many food options, more than some of the other thai spots around in OC. Here, you'll find some more rare dishes besides your more common and popular noodle and curry dishes. Dishes we ordered: - Crab Noodles: this was probably the most popular one for the table! Amount of crab was pretty good for the value and noodles were perfectly sweet and savory with the fried egg. Would definitely order this again! - Panang Curry with Chicken: this was also probably one of the best panang that I've had! The chicken was also very tender. Medium heat was the perfect amount of space that packed flavor with just the right kick to it. - Creamy Udon in Tom Yum Soup: just a little mild for those who don't want anything too spicy. While the crispy pork had good flavor, the pieces were a bit hard to chew. - Pad Thai: not usually my go-to dish because it's more sweet than savory, but this dish was pretty good. - Egg Rolls: perfect to share as an appetizer! Filling was well seasoned and rolls were lightly fried for a good crispy texture. With so many popular thai spots around OC, it can be tricky finding one that checks all the marks, but this one might have it all! Now I just need to make sure to save stomach space to try their mango sticky rice...

It is pretty sweet, but a must-try! Service: The same waiters are here, as this is a small business. They are so nice! You can also ask them to bring their assortment of chilis for your food, and you can put these in the soup and other dishes for them to be slightly spicier! The food takes a little while to come, but it's because of how fresh it is! Ambiance: This is a small restaurant with a few Thai paintings and a few sofa booths. It's so cozy, and the bathroom is clean! Please try this place if you're in the area! They are not on DoorDash or Uber Eats (yet), so please stop by and enjoy the amazing food!

Some restaurants you try once. Some you like for a season…read more And then there are the rare ones that quietly become part of your life. Thai Cafe falls into that last category for me. I've been coming here for over 10 years, and that alone says more than any rating ever could. In a world where places change recipes, cut corners, or slowly fade, Thai Cafe has stayed exactly what it has always been consistent, authentic, and deeply comforting. It's not just a restaurant anymore, it's a tradition. My two constants: the Chicken Cashew and the Thai Basil Chicken (very little veggies, the way I always order it). Somehow, year after year, they taste exactly how your memory hopes they will. The chicken is always tender, never dry, coated in sauces that hit that perfect balance of savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic. The cashew dish has that warm, nutty richness that feels like a complete meal by itself, while the Thai basil carries that unmistakable garlic chili fragrance that instantly tells your brain: you're in the right place. And yes -- they get busy. Really busy. The wait times can absolutely get out of hand sometimes. But honestly, that almost proves the point. You don't see crowds form around ordinary food. You see them around places people trust. Places families return to. Places that have earned patience. Because when the plate finally arrives, the wait disappears. First bite, and you remember why you keep coming back after a decade. Thai Cafe is the definition of a true family owned restaurant not flashy, not trendy, just honest cooking made the same way every time, by people who clearly care about what leaves their kitchen. Some restaurants feed you for a night. This one has fed memories for years. Ten years later and it still feels like home on a plate.
