Huge portions. Great friendly service. Not a fan of the red onions vs white or yellow for hibachi but overall good food.

The service was top notch as well. All of the wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and took care of our large group well. I started with the Old Fashioned Flight, with their Aged Old Fashioned, one with Old Forester 1920, and one with Buffalo Trace that they said was their restaurants pick. The first 2 were really good, but I think they gave me the wrong drink, because the one with BT didn't taste like it had any bourbon in it at all. But the waiter switched it out for me with a Tequila OF, which was really good. They brought out two salads for the table, and their Cesar Salad was really good, the dressing was so good. I ordered the Australian Lamb Chops, which were amazing. Simply seasoned, but done so well. I ordered a side of Chimichurri sauce, and it was not needed at all. My wife had the meatloaf, which was delicious, and the group all enjoyed their meals and drinks. We left full and happy. I definitely recommend you add this place to you list if you've never been.

The restaurant is beautiful, cozy, and comfortable, and the hosts and servers have been excellent every time. We made reservations once through OpenTable and once by phone -- both were easy, and reservations are probably a good idea since they stay busy. The food has been great both times. On our first visit, my husband and I shared the ribeye and loved the flavor. Their Caesar salad is also surprisingly unique and delicious with broccolini instead of a traditional Caesar style. I also really appreciated being able to order a single Rockefeller oyster since most places require a half dozen minimum. The second time we visited for an early Mother's Day dinner with my son and shared the off-menu tomahawk, which was excellent as well. The only consistent issue we've had has been steak temperature. We usually order medium, but their interpretation of medium has come out significantly more rare than expected. The first time, we had to send the steak back, and they asked us to identify only the undercooked portions to recook separately, which was a bit awkward and something we hadn't experienced before at a steakhouse. The second time, we tried being more specific and even requested an approximate temperature around 140°, but the steak came out closer to medium-well. That said, the flavors, atmosphere, and service have been so enjoyable that we'll absolutely keep coming back. We're just hoping we can eventually land on the perfect medium steak on a future visit.

The seasoning was perfect and I didn't even have to salt the meat it was so tasty. The twice baked potato was delicious too! Our server Michelle was wonderful! She made our meal extra special and was so attentive! We plan on going back again and trying some of the weekly specials!

A Clayton staple! So glad I live close by!…read more Clayton Steakhouse is nestled in the heart of Downtown Clayton, right on Main Street. There's parking on the street nearby, as well as a couple of parking lots available nearby as well. I know Downtown Clayton has started putting up some signs for paid parking, so just pay attention when parking. That being said, there are plenty of options for parking. I've been numerous times for lunch and dinner and always enjoy my visits. The staff is friendly and definitely fits the small-town/family vibe of Downtown Clayton. The restaurant is small, but still a great size, and never too packed. I love the simplicity of the menu. There are good options, but it's not too much or overkill. Although they are a steakhouse, there are quite a few other great options if you don't eat steak or want something. The steaks are always cooked well and correctly with lots of flavor. I love a good salad bar, and there are many times I've gone for a solo lunch just for the salad bar. It's not a huge salad bar, but there are great topping options, and it's always fresh, which I love. During lunch, they also have options for made-to-order cold sandwiches and wraps. You can choose your bread/wrap, meat, cheese, and toppings. I love Clayton Steakhouse and highly recommend. The prices are also great for the quality of food as well.

I used their house made horseradish sauce with it. Easily one of the best meals. When it was time for dessert our waitress came out with a tray of homemade desserts and there were TONS of options on it-- carrot cake, triple chocolate cake, chocolate chess pie, key lime pie, berry cheesecake, and a few others. We tried the key lime pie and the chocolate chess pie. The chocolate chess pie was AMAZING. I loved it. The owner makes the desserts handmade. It's a must try in downtown Clayton!

Here's my expert review…read more We came here for our 4 year anniversary, made the reservation a day or so in advance... maybe even the night before? We were sat at a private booth overlooking the wine selection, open kitchen, and dry-aged beef display. Host greeted us, acknowledged the reservation and anniversary. The server did the same as soon as he arrived. ‍ Matt was our server; his global wine expertise helped provide guidance through pairing drinks with our meal. I also love when a server is opinionated on what to order, how to order it, and what to pair together... following his suggestions was a highlight of our experience. He immediately suggested when to order based on how long things take to cook - huge plus in my book so you are aware of pace and can order accordingly. We started with the Shrimp Cocktail and Hamachi Crudo... while the Hamachi isn't something we typically order, the quality was fantastic and such a treat. The Shrimp Cocktail... is simple, its itself, but the size and cocktail sauce, fresh flavor made it a perfect choice. Next we had 3oz of the A5 Wagyu with the recommended Shoyu sauce... perfection. Glad we listened to Matt on this one. We also shared the Prime NY Strip with another Matt recommended sauce... fantastic. We always order our meat Medium Rare, came out exactly that. Meat cut as easy as butter. Crust on the outsides were delicious and not too hard or salty, but just right. Honorable Mentions We were too full to order dessert or anything else, but a few things that caught our eye when passing our table were the Caesar salad, bread pudding, and homemade ice cream. We want to come back and sit in Matt's section and bring our parents! Thanks for making our night so enjoyable and memorable. Ps... I know new restaurants can have some kinks in the beginning, as seen in reviews from last year, but our experience was flawless and the pace/timing was perfect, especially when listening to our servers' guidance. I work in sales, I would absolutely bring my clients here. Beautiful establishment, accommodates groups, private dining room and secluded individual tables and booths.

The New York strip was equally impressive, with a beautiful sear and excellent quality. The puréed potatoes were silky smooth and the perfect complement to the meal. The cornbread pudding was absolutely divine and a must-order dessert. The cocktails were stellar, thoughtfully crafted, and balanced. Duck balls were unexpectedly soft. What truly elevated the evening was the knowledgeable staff and their excellent wine recommendations, which paired beautifully with our meal. Every dish was executed with care and attention to detail. Looking forward to coming back.
