I went to Seafood Landing for my first time and was very impressed. We went on a Sunday evening about 10 minutes to close and the selection was okay. The owner was so friendly and helpful and he let us know that he orders everyday and that the selection was low because he was about to be closed for a day (closed on Mondays). I didn't think the selection was that bad, but I do appreciate that it is important to him to keep the selection fresh. There were 2 filets of halibut left, and I was only planning on buying one. He said he would give me a good price since the fish would just go to waste anyway. The listed price of the fish was $24.95 per pound, and he gave me a little over a pound for $10! And it was fresh and delicious! He also told me that if I ever wanted to special order anything, no problem. We go to Seafood Landing every time we want truly fresh seafood, and we have never been disappointed. We order live lobsters for Christmas dinner from Bruce every year now. He insists that they stay in the water until just a few hours before cooking so they are as fresh as possible. He opens up the shop for a few hours on Christmas so we can pick them up! He is kind, helpful, and resourceful and the lobsters are perfect every time! This year I also ordered fresh oysters and shucked them at home for an appetizer. All 20 of them were in excellent condition; fresh and delicious. They were eaten within minutes and even my kids wanted more! I will be a loyal customer as long as I live in the Denver area. read more

This place is amazing. Bruce was incredibly helpful the first time I went in here on a mission to find some sushi grade tuna having never purchased it (or made sushi..) before in my life. I have since then been back a few times and got everything from tuna to salmon to lobsters to scallops. All have been incredibly fresh, fair priced, and delicious. Forgot to write a review from last December when these guys supplied us with a LOT of fresh oysters for husband's surprise BDAY party (turning 70? champagne and oysters, please!) Great service, fresh fish and good prices. It's far and away the best place I've been to buy fish in Denver. Bruce is always incredibly nice and helpful in picking out fish and the wild fish he will usually even know which day it was caught. Prices are pretty good as well. I buy fish here usually at least once a week and would highly recommend it. read more

Ok so in the Highlands our grocery stores suck. I was pleased with Bruce's knowledge, willingness to bring in whatever we want, and a guy who is not afraid to throw in a little more then what you ordered. Sometimes, the people helping you at our local grocery stores don't even know what it is that you are ordering, you just have to point. I think I'll go with Bruce! read more

We drove a bit of a distance to get to Seafood Landing because of all the great reviews it had on Yelp as well as my need for "fresh" seafood in this land locked state. I was not disappointed. The store did not smell fishy. I bought a plethora of fish.....including black cod & grouper. I went crazy with the little neck clams, mussels, & scallops (diver scallops!). The smell of sea water emanated from the bags of mussels. It was like being back in my hometown on the Pacific Coast. Truly a jewel! read more

Seafood Landing totally lived up to the (high) expectations I had after reading all the glowing reviews. The owner was just as attentive and knowledgable as everyone says, and the selection was much larger than expected. I purchased salmon, tilapia, shrimp, lobster, and cod, and everything was great. As far as the prices - living so far from the nearest ocean, I am willing to spend a bit more for seafood I know is fresh and high-quality. It's miles above what you'd get a Soopers or Safeway, and certainly not any more expensive than seafood of similar quality you'd find at, say, Whole Foods. I'd rather support a local business and know I'm getting my money's worth. Do note the hours and days open - CLOSED on MONDAY. I swing by on the weekend after hitting the Highland Farmers Market. Lobster boil that Bruce prepares perfectly seasoned for two. In a steaming can, clams, cod, potatoes, corn nested in seeweed. Add your water/beer. It was fabulous. Love this man and his fish. read more

I bought some grouper in the past that was really fresh and was good texture but yesterday evening I went in and bought some grouper the piece looked kinda old the one under it looked fresh but was a lot bigger so I asked for the smaller piece which was on top. Now that I've eaten or was going to eat it it smelled bad in the bag the texture was soft and mushy and smelled. I got the bait and switch with a fresh piece under and an old piece on top. I will be feeding this fish to my dog. Not what I paid for at 25$ a pound. read more

First, I have to say that the seafood itself was good. The service, however, is lacking...and I've learned I can't depend on this place to get it right. I'm a private chef, and I'd pre-ordered some special items a week in advance, and called the day before to confirm my pickup, but when I came to pick it all up (even later than i'd detailed in my day-before confirmation) the young man behind the counter stammered and muttered something about 'not seeing that order' in the book in front of him...he was not the individual I ordered from a week in advance, who was also the same person I spoke to confirming the day before, but clearly he was in charge today. I was lucky that they still had the size and number of shrimp I needed, and he assured me if I could just wait, he'd shell them now...well needless to say, it was a rush job and I ended up having to rewash and pick all of the remaining shell, legs and vein out of the product while trying to get a four course dinner for 25 people on the table. I guess ordering a week in advance and confirming the day before isn't enough. read more

I live north of Greeley and because of all of the "5 Star" ratings and all the positive reviews, I took a trip to Seafood Landing specifically to buy salmon to smoke. I bought two fillets for a total of 10 pounds. Armed with alder and a tried and true dry brine recipe, I came home and quickly prepared the salmon for a good 12-18 hour soak in the brine. I met Bruce and he was very friendly. He gave me his Undivided attention. He also greeted and thanked his customers...it was obvious many were regulars because he called them by name. Bruce gladly scaled my filets and even removed all of the bones. Just a quick rinse to remove the occasional scales and I rubbed in the brine. I can hardly wait to get those bad boys on my Traeger smoker for a good 8-12 hour smoke. While there, I also ordered 4 pints of his New England clam chowder, a bag of gourmet rice, and two good size lobster tails that my wife and I will enjoy for Valentine's Day. I also have a reason to return, not only for top quality seafood, but when I inquired about the tool he used to remove the bones, I asked if he sold them or if I could order one.
