    Shrimp Po'Boy
    Colleen L.

I stumbled across this fish market when I was in town recently. It's located in a food hall and was a great find! Again, it's located in a food hall with other restaurants but there's plenty of seating throughout. The kitchen is open. And I liked that they have a display with some of their items. Service was fine. We really just ordered and picked up our food. But our order was accurate and came out pretty quickly. I ordered the shrimp Po'Boy. The shrimp were large, cooked well, and were really fresh. I have zero complaints about my sandwich. Everything was spot on and I'd order it again. I was surprised that I was served waffle cut fries with it because the menu didn't indicate that it came with a side. But those were also tasty and I wasn't the least bit disappointed. The shrimp tempura roll was good. The shrimp was fresh and the roll was pretty good sized. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips and I got to try it. The fish (cod) was really fresh, the batter was light, and it was just perfect. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!

Located inside Denver Central Market, Tammen's is a great choice if you're craving some tasty fish and chips. Came here for lunch during the week. After exploring all the different options that Denver Central Market had to offer, the fish and chips just looked too delicious to pass up. The fish was fresh and flaky, surrounded by that crispy breading. Honestly was surprised by how MASSIVE these pieces of fish were. Fries weren't half bad (I never have the highest standards for the fries in fish and chips). Good pricing for it, too. I read reviews where people were talking about bad service here, but we didn't have an issue. The cashier was pleasant, and it was easy to grab our food once the pager went off. Parking wasn't too bad. They have a couple paid lots right next to the Central Market, but we easily found a spot on the street a few blocks away and walked over. Definitely recommend giving them a try!

    Error on the menu

Amazing food, but service was half amazing. More on that later... I recommend getting the "Fried" shrimp tacos. The "crispiness" was AMAZING! Flavors were spot on. The "Crispy" fish taco was also delicious, but it wasn't what my friend ordered. She ordered the "crispy shrimp taco", but instead got the "crispy fish taco." She had said that when she tried to correct the employee who took her order, the employee stood her ground and stated "when customers say 'crispy', they understand it's the crispy fish taco. That's what it says on your receipt. 'CRISPY'" But when my friend tried to get a replacement, the employee said, "this is what you get" and left it at that. I myself tried to help the situation, and pointed out the menu has a discrepancy on the laminated menu vs the hanging menu overhead. I went ahead and ordered the "fried" shrimp tacos and told her the menu needs to be corrected to avoid confusion. All she said to me was, "So you want the 'fried shrimp taco, right?" She still didn't admit her mistake and talked around the situation. Oh well. I picked up my order and she doubled checked the order with me; maybe it's a consolation prize, but still. No apologies. Not one word. So. Go there for the amazing food. But watch out. But if you're lucky, the guy who suggested the "fried shrimp tacos" was very kind and patient with us when we ordered. "They're your tastebuds. Satisfy them!" -Allan Delacruz

I had the House ceviche, and it wasn't as good as the shrimp ceviche. They're a little skimpy on the amount of chips they give you as well. While I'm glad I have it a shot, I don't think I'd go back for it. The service was quick and courteous though. The food hall does get quite loud.

Stumbled upon this small seafood spot inside Denver Central Market and couldn't resist after seeing someone walk by with the Bang Bang Shrimp Bowl--it looked too good to pass up, and it did not disappoint. The shrimp were perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender and not overcooked on the inside. The sauce was a perfect balance--lightly sweet, savory, with just the right kick of spice. It was a simple dish, but executed flawlessly. You can tell they care about quality here. 11/10 would recommend. Next time I'm at the market, this will be my first stop!

I came to this place located inside of a food hall and I tried 4 of their seafood tacos (shrimp, Halibut, Cod, and Ahi Tuna). The staff was friendly and the food was prepared quickly. I really enjoyed 3 of the 4 tacos. However, the Halibut taco was not very flavorful. The tacos weren't the best thing I've ever had but definitely worth ordering. I'd definitely come again.

Awesome spot to grab food and drinks. Central Market is great and in an excellent location, and this is one of the best spots in the market. This is my go to spot in Central Market. I ordered the fish and chips. Comes with 3 good sized pieces of fish, and a plate of fries underneath. The fish is nice and flaky - which is how I like it, and the beer battered shell is good too. The fries and seasoned well and are plentiful. I am always full when I am done eating here. I was able to substitute out my Tatar Sauce and vinegars for extra ketchup, which I was appreciative of. I also had the bang bang shrimp from here. It was a great shareable dish, and there was enough to get everyone a few pieces. I loved the sauce, but will warn that everyone thought it was very spicy even though it says not spicy on the sign. Regardless, really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend Central Market as there are options for everyone to eat and drink here, and this spot specifically as my go-to. Great place to stop in RiNo!

    Salmon Poke Bowl

Located inside the Denver Central Market, there's a lot of good selection in here! It was definitely hard to choose, but in the Denver Central Market Yelp page, there was some people that recommended Tammen's for their poke. I decided to try their poke since I was curious about the fish! It didn't take too long for my order to be finished preparing, which I was still looking for seats at that time for a big party group lol. There are seats located at this stall too, but needed more seats for my group of friends. Anyways, I did not succeed, but I got to enjoy my poke lol. So the poke bowl notably has a very citrus-sour taste. It wasn't bad, but it was just a bit overpowering to eat. I liked how they had this spicy mayo sauce to use it with, I wish they offered more! The salmon and rice were fresh, but I wish there were more ingredients to this to make this more full. They also had those mexican radishes that I was surprised to see lol. Overall, the bowl itself was okay. I definitely should have had more ingredients or at least more salmon.

Came by on a Tuesday morning and was looking for a light lunch before heading to the airport. Was craving a clam chowder so split the bowl with a friend and was not expecting such a large portion! Wasn't too bad as there were chunks of potato and clam. Had to ask for some saltine crackers to dip into the soup and the staff was nice to provide some.

    Crawfish Boil

Came here on a snowy Saturday in April since it's inside the Denver Central Market and we wanted to escape the cold. I love that they have sample dishes at the counter where you order so you can see all the different available dishes. When you order, you give your phone number then you can find a table and they will text you when your order is ready. Super simple process since it's really busy and can be overwhelming in there. I got the crawfish boil and my husband ordered the shrimp ramen. The broth in my crawfish boil was really flavorful but everything else needed a bit more flavor/seasoning. I'm from the South and grew up eating Cajun food so I might be a little more harsh than most people. The shrimp ramen was good, there was just entirely too many bean sprouts. There were several other dishes that looked good so we would give this place another try!

This crab chowder is absolutely out of this world! The flavor is incredible, and the bread? It's perfectly crusty--just the way I love it! So delicious!

    Fish and chips $18 each

It's easy to come by Tammen's as it's the first thing you see as you enter the market. We came by on a Friday night and there was a couple sitting at the high counter. I saw a few others getting the fish tacos to eat at other common tables. But overall it was a bit slow for them compared to other places. And in comparison to the weekend crowd we always see. We ordered 2 fish and chips since that's what we were craving. We ended up being the only two people at the high counter through our entire meal. It was made super fresh by the cook right in front of us. That was really nice to see. The fish and chips came with three pieces of fried fish, waffle fries, and little containers of ketchup, tartar sauce, and malt vinegar. Plus a few wedges of lemon. Overall I was very happy with the entrees. They weren't overly salted at all. If anything, it had no seasoning at all and the flavor really depended on the tartar sauce and malt vinegar. At $18 per plate, it was definitely more than enough food. We had half our order taken to go. But I think that one plate would've been enough and then take your time with another place for an interesting menu. Would I come back again to this place? Maybe? But there are sooo many other businesses to try out that I'd make a round with them and come back another time. I wish there was more flavor with the dishes. But at least the fish and oysters always look fresh.

Yuzu Salmon Handroll, Shrimp & Fish Tacos, Lobster Bisque

So I saw the low ratings...and ignored them. I really wanted to check out Denver's Central Market and was drawn to Tammen's Fish Market so I wanted to give them a shot. They had such an interesting menu - where else do you find a place that serves hand rolls, poke, fish & shrimp tacos, ceviche and lobster bisque (among many others)? Is it Japanese? Is it Mexican? Nope, it's just seafood done different ways! The lobster bisque in the bread bowl was salty! Definitely do not recommend getting that. The salmon hand rolls were...bizarre. They had slices of Granny Smith apples in them. Why?? Who thought this was a good idea? My first bite I thought it was a pretty bland handroll, then the second bite came with the apple and I was thrown off. My fiancé took a bite out of his and was immediately like "nope." The tacos were good though and were Tammen's saving grace. You don't have to choose all fish or all shrimp tacos, you can opt for both and I would recommend both because they were solid. The shrimp and fish were not greasy or overly battered and were complimented well with their fresh toppings.

Slow, but surprisingly the best oysters I've ever had. And I've had oysters in Maine, New Orleans, Maryland, San Diego. Had to get seconds.
